@EmmetPro7421 from the sound of it I'd say it was a Irish Concert flute also know as the Scottish Flute in Scotland. They have that wonderful airy, rich woody sound. Most Celtic bands like the Chieftains play them and you'll find a number of YouTube videos highlighting them in Irish competitions like Comhaltas Live. It's a very distinct sound found in Scottish and Irish music.
