  • this is good taijutsu, but it's not tactical

  • You react perform he even does the strike, it would look better if you let him get at least half way with the punch and then counter, then we will know if it really works.

  • The tall Sensei reminds me of mine in Ohio back in the 80's. What impresses me is how the black male body appears to be almost perfectly engineered for defense arts. He could palm my Charlie Brown head and his feat gave him advanced stability. My son watched board breaking at 3 and was ready to learn. Great video series thanks for sharing.

  • ningas

  • then get punched on the side of ur chin

  • The only thing I dislike about this video is that it's not a realistic punch. Not even an amateur is going to cross his legs like that to deliver a punch. That cross leg movement gives the opponent time to execute his counter attack.

  • @luvbig41 With the cross leg you can go to a backward kick, you can bent knee, and hold arm to break elbow( it is a starting position for 3 other technic.

  • @luvbig41 he's not crossing his legs

  • hello there :)

one thing i miss here is that, when punching the opponent afte avoiding/blocking his punch you strike to the body, while his other arm is directly next to your face. you do not guard yourself. why not strike over his arm into the face? this makes sure he cannot strike and you hit him stronger. if you can explain me the reason for that i'd be glad.

    with respect

  • @Soulstealer01 similar techniques in kali and even boxing... the attacker is in no position to throw the other strike as 1. he's in pain and 2. he's off balance and you are prepared to counter even though you give the illusion of vulnerability

  • @Soulstealer01 Hi,I´m a pa-kua student,I think i got the answer:

If you punch him in the face directly it will leave you in a weak position, because the face is harder than the body and also it is easy to resist an attack in the face.

Plus if you hit the body you weaken your foe's position and it allows you to keep on moving and preparing for future blows.

Another thing is that you need a lot of practice in every marcial art to not break your hand while punching the face. You need precision.

  • what dojo is this and what area?

  • it's lame where is the control?

  • @povdan How about you watch the full lesson instead of passing judgement based on a 4.50 minute excerpt from an 1hr 30 min lesson. The control is shown as the lesson progresses from the basics to the advanced.

  • @povdan u dont need control when ur about to violently but strategicly attack every vital point on the body
