I liked when all of the stars (usually dominated by the lovely Rose Marie) would join in and say "Dicker and Dicker of Beverley Hills".
On the nighttime version, I loved/hated the tacky buzzer, but when it went off and Rose Marie would add, "...me out to the ball game", it always cracked me up.
I've always hated the fake audience whistles and catcalls ... I know this is a syndicated version but it seems they were a common annoying feature of NBC game shows!
The classic open and psychedelic "secret square" music. And I had forgot on how they would occasionally have celebs model apparel on on the spiral staircase.
One thing that always puzzled me was the choice of color for the set. I think this is the syndicated version but since the show originated on the network known for its living color at a time when color tv was quite a selling point for shows, why did they ever choose a gray background with white x's and o's?
I don't blame you. I'm a Canadian myself and I've never flown that airline. I would only choose that as a last resort if I had to get to an international destination.
I was so excited when GSN aired HS back in 2003. I hadn't seen the original HS episodes since I was 2 in 1980 and no, I don't remember it. I just can't believe we lost six celebritites within a week. RIP to Ed, Michael, Farrah, Billy, Fred, and Gale.
At least back then we were not so PC that we could give away a FUR, for gosh sakes.

@KneeJerkish I agree I forgot about her & how beautiful she was.

Why didn't they put copyright years on all the HS shows? All the shows from 1978-81 have them.

Strange that the middle square was not chosen, when the more modern versions, the center square is usually chosen first.
weatherboi 7 months ago
@weatherboi Yeah, especially considering Paul Lynde's popularity, as well as being a great position strategically!

Wally Cox isn't there because he died. Charlie Weaver also is not there because of having died.

Jimmie Walker's question seems worded to make the audience wonder if he'd actually know what the word meant. Jeez . . .

Poor Karen Valentine should've received hazard pay after modeling that fur.

Zowie! A trip to exciting Canada (probably in February) on exciting Air Canada (world's worst airline)! No wonder they tried so hard to win...
Don't give me any grief, folks. I have a right to make these comments; I'm Canadian.
