It is time for the U.S.A to be looked upon as a country that stands for truth, justice and honesty not just for them selves but for all humanity and be a country that reaches out to the world, to set by example on how to settle and heal world crises peacefully and intelligently, not to go in and use force as an example.
Obama has a charisma that very few people have, that is true. Also he is extremely intelligent, and has an honesty that i've heard from no other politician before. If you compare speeches he is 10 times better than Clinton and 50 times better than McCain. What they say about americans being generally stupid must be true. Obama should have won by huge percentages and only debating with Ron Paul about who is the best. I'd go for Paul but Obama surely 2nd. Don't mean to offend anyone. Peace
as the weekly standard pointed out, notice that Obama doesnt have a teleprompter... makes a big difference compared to his "prompted" speeches. also notice that his great orating rarely translates into great performances during the debates. He's OK in the debates, but there is an obvious disconnect and it raises questions. I dont want clinton nor mccain either, so this is quite a pickle.
This is a serious time for our country. The big question is will the youth of America wake up soon enough and realize this is a presidential election not American Idol. We need someone who can fix the economy, get us out of the war in Iraq smoothly, fix our health care system, tackle global warming, protect a women`s right to choose, etc. and do it fast. We need Hillary now. This is her time. This is her term. Barack is at the beginning of his political career.
This is one of the better speeches Obama has given. He actually outlines some of his policies. I love him, but sometimes he does get a little gooey on issues.
TO WOULD-BE OBAMA VOTERS: This isn't American Idol or student council. You're not electing the best rock star, you're electing the best President. We've got big problems in this country now --the economy, global warming, ending the war in Iraq, our health care system, protecting a woman's right to choose, etc. We need someone who can fix them fast. We need Hillary in office to clean up this mess and get our country back on track. Then we can vote Barack in. Hillary '08/Obama'12
I'm curious with all this talk about experience, as to where all this experience has gotten us so far? Bush jr and sr had experience, Ronald Reagan had experience, Jimmy Carter had experience. At what point are we going to realize that change and experience are two conflicting ideas in Washington. Are we that naive to think that we are going to get change in politics from people that are totally saturated in the current system?
To an outsider, like me, it would seem almost like the US have a split-monarchy between the Clintons and the Bushs' if Hillary wins. I would definately go for Obama if I were a US citizen. GO OBAMA!
In this election, any change from the current administration is good. Four years from now, I just don't want to look back and wish for someone with more experience (like we are now).
Experience in doing crooked deals; Obama made the right decision about Iraq and he was just a newly elected senator. Clinton had been around the block and still made a bad decision re the Iraq war. Seems like her experience did her a lot of good [/sarcasm]. We can't afford any more mistakes like this.
when obama speaks, he speaks with a heart and charisma that very few people have. When he speaks you listen to every word he says, and you can tell by his face he means what he says. He'd make a great president. It doesn't matter weather your black or white. What matters is if you can do the job, and "YES HE CAN." This is a president we've been waiting for for a long time. After 8 years of George Bush and his greedy war crazy pals, we need the opposite. We need Obama.
Just because of his charisma you can believe what he says? That's a scary thought. That's the same thing that put Hitler in power. I'm not saying anything about Obama, just about that kind of thinking you choose to use.
there is a reason why your name on here is stupid man suit.
Yeah of course change is going to happen no matter who is elected, but he is saying he is going to change it in a better way, not in an idiotic way. I'm not going to repeat what Obama has already said a thousand times what he is going to change. Maybe you should listen to the politicians more than just being totally against them.
I'm totally for Obama '08.
And it's mature to not talk shit about someone on youtube.
Change is what America needs..A change of government power, and Chief of commander. I am inspired by Sen. Obama's speech and his cofidence. However, i believe Sen. Clinton has a solid plan for America. Her ideas to change this nation are on point. Also, her husband has bright ideas for america and he is deeply involved with the current issues today, which influences Sen. Clinton more!!
People said he's inspiring. Well, Chavez is inspiring for his people too, not to mention a host of others in the past. I'll go with experience. The last time we put in a Prez w/ little experience, look where it got us. Wake up people...
He is speaking of Socialist ideas ... More Government!!! This is the Opposite of what the Founders of our great "Constitutional Republic" fought and died for. Someone has to pay for all of this ... everyone can't just collect handouts! "Students,Young People, you will have to give back"..."National Service","Work in a Homeless Shelter or Veterans Home","Join the Peace Corps","Foreign Service"!!!ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION???He is telling you about "CHANGE"!!! Jefferson and Jackson... not even close!
Vote for Obama, He is awesome. I don't think i need to say anything about him. If anyone give at least 10 minutes and listen to his speeches, I dont see how anyone would want hate him.
He has greaet optimism, hope, and believes that he can take american politics to a higher level.
The Obama Train is just going to get bigger get out of the way Hilary! He's geting votes now fromyour demographic! Just face it Hilary your demand for a debate every week. No one wants to hear your lying voice anymore. I don't ant a clinton in office. Why do we need families running the white house for the last decade? America has spoken it's no longer about race, Its past v future and I am 18 I need someone that appeals to me. I'm sick of all these old people deciding my future.
This is an amazing and exciting speech. He's detailing the issues and laying out his plans in a way that makes so much sense. Those who say that he doesn't give details to back up his message of change simply aren't paying attention.
NBA4LIFE-- Absolutely, change is inevitable. This is an election. Anyone being elected will be change. Which is why Barack using it as his main selling point is ridiculous. RE the video... not so inspiring without his tele-prompter, no? LOL, this guy is a joke. He deserves to be laughed out of American politics, trying to paint his opponents as racists to get ahead was the last straw for me. HILLARY '08!!!
The media used the race card. Not Obama. I actually was going to vote for Hillary but a few things have changed my mind. The latest was the fact that she had to loan her own campaign money, and her dipping out of the different states once she loses. Doesn't she think she could stick around and just address the people that did vote for her. Why is she all of a sudden crying all the time? You have to be tough if your going to deal with the middle east.
I just wish he could tell us what "CHANGE" he is talking about. Since Dr. Paul isn't going to be nominated, I will probably end up voting for Obama. But that is only because I KNOW what I am getting with McCain and Clinton. At least with Obama it will be a surprise.

Obama is the only candidate who actually has a plan. Hillary is smart, but she looks like a deal maker, and McCain is nothing but another Bush.
For all those who hate and have no mercy, for all those who divide and hate unity, for all those that promote the politics of fear instead of the the politics of honesty and hope, for all those who love to see the bloodshed of innocent people across the world, and for all those who oppose the TRUTH
remember this...
Nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change...
This is in my opinion one of his best ever because not only does it combine his inspiring message of hope, it also gives detailed policy specifics of what he intends to do as President. Bravo, Obama!
I have tears thinking about how much my family has struggled for many many years, It will not be an easy task, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and his name Is OBAMA!
It takes a lot to get the youth of America to become SO motivated, much less with politics! As a 19 year old white male from MS I am proud to say..."YES WE CAN!"
I like that Obama's official youtube channel allows positive and negative comments. Hillary Clinton's channel will only post comments from her supporters.
I think he is a great man, but I feel Hilary is a great woman. I think they would both be great leaders, but I feel that is Obama gets elected, NAACP and Sharpton will move up with him, and whites and others may suffer. I know Obama is half white, but people are voting for him just because he is half black.
of course, black people have endured hell and high water in this country. a chance like this doesn't come to black people. historically black leaders have discredited and even killed (M.L.K.) BY THE GOVERNMENT. when joe liberman ran for office, 90% of jews voted for him it. is only in the 80 percentile for blacks. some black people don't trust OBAMA. the same will happen for other minority candidates with their groups. OBAMA WILL TRY TO HELP EVERYONE, NOT JUST BLACK PEOPLE.
He's the one! The only one that gives me hope for this country. This is the first election in decades that I actually want to vote! The first election where I believe this person is the best choice and not a choice of "the lesser of 2 evils"!
everytime this man speaks sumthing great happens...his speech about hope is very true.. our mediocre politics have to come to a close especially at a such a defining moment in the history of our governement..i hope he can walk the walk because he can sure talk the talk..OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT 08
i really admired this guy especially if he becomes the president not only because he is black but also he is not braggin bout his color that has a lot to say bout his character or it could also juste be his campan anywaYS HE IS GREAT I HOPE HE OR HILLARY WIN
The logicial answer is yes. This isn't inherent to any one leader. Anyone that is President that takes to diplomacy first would resort to military force as a last resort. However, military action must be warranted. Unless you want to open a can of worms, I don't forsee striking Iran unless it is absolutely necessary, which it is not at this time necessary. I see North Korea as more of a threat.
Goodness, you seem so urged to press the button on an issue that's has not really happened yet. Iran is like the soviet union during the cold war right now. And what happened in the cold war, nothing but spending and building unneeded bombs.
And he said that if military force is needed for a situation (including Iran) then he'd use it.
Senator Obama has stated that he reserves the discretion to take whatever military action the Presidency allows in whatever part of the world said action is required. American foreign policy towards Iran has been dumb for a while now, so Obama has discussed his more judicious proposals in debates and interviews, as well as on his Web-site.
Well he's already said yes to that. But he usually also points out that it's silly to raise the question until the other avenues have actually been exhausted.
he's definately inspirational. I just hope all the elderly americans dont put hillary on the throne just because they dont have access to videos like this. VIdeos that show how good this man can be for this country.
Great friendly speach and attitude. What a breath of fresh air. Check out the new song on Barack "OBAMAFY" it is going viral-pass it on-free download. v=gshWAK3sBhE
I would like to pour over his 8 years being a state legislator, but not enough room. I'm almost puzzled by your comment because his policies are openly accessible to the public. What he's done legislatively is also easily accessible. But I digress...policy wise, he's probably more aggressive on the issue of education and ehtics reform than any other candidate. His healthcare plan makes more sense to me. I'm not keen on garnishing people's wages to force healthcare on them as Hillary plans to do.
why don't you go to his campaign website where he has many detailed solutions from health care to foreign policy? after reading those you can come back and ask more specific and insightful questions.
Dude, I suggest you stop asking questions here and start actually doing your homework by yourself. Instead of being cynical because you're not hearing what you expect, go find it out on your own.
What has he done, well he has gotten pretty far I would say. What has Hillary done, besides sleep with a president, and use her clout with Arkansas based Walmart (her former employer) to take thousands of jobs out of america, and in exchange bring us lots of cheap poison toys. Remember all the trips to China?
I would say that is pretty obvious that he has done a lot. Look at where he has gotten. If doing nothing got you some where you might be something more than a gear head.
Learn about Obama's positions on the issues at his website and read your American history. Our democracy is not only about 10-point plans. It's about ideas. What has Obama done? Well, to start, he organized folks in Chicago, helped them take responsibility for their lives and organize to clean up their community. Those are clear results on a grassroots level. The despair was very real but so was the hope that helped them changed their lives. It's really quite simple. And logical.
Why dont you research his policies on certain issues that may affect you. Otherwise you and I both know that he cannot address all issues in one term as president. No one can, not even in two terms. America has taken plenty of risk on the basis of hope. Why should this be any different. So give me a reason why he shouldnt be president? And please come up with something else rather than the norm "he lacks experience". Most people gain experience w/ hands on - so let's try it

If you do your research and listen to his speeches you will know the answer to this. Protecting America is a top priority he'll do whatever it takes, however Iran is a worldwide threat and the world will keep Iran in check through UN sanctions. Obama is about repairing relations not severing them.
He gets people involved and exited with government. Thats not just something you can laugh off, it's truly incredible. This is the only election in my life ive been exited about, because of him.
I've heard many times how he's a great speaker, but I've never really heard an entire speech of his until now. I was moved to tears at the end... Wow. I think everyone should see this.
Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio - we're looking to you. This thing is by the people and for the people; please open your heart to this movement! Obama is only the figurehead - WE are the movement, YOU are the movement. He is the lightning rod that channels OUR strength. Is Clinton capable of that? Vote your heart - let's NOT leave it up to the superdelegates in Nov.
As a republican, I hope Obama defeats Hillery. I for one will be voting for him in election in november. He is the only viable canidate for the nation.

YES WE CAN
Sí, se puede'
LET YOUR VOTE BE THE VOICE OF CHANGE!

This is in my opinion one of his best ever because not only does it combine his inspiring message of hope, it also gives detailed policy specifics of what he intends to do as President. Bravo, Obama!

Highlander2032 4 years ago
of course, black people have endured hell and high water in this country. a chance like this doesn't come to black people. historically black leaders have discredited and even killed (M.L.K.) BY THE GOVERNMENT. when joe liberman ran for office, 90% of jews voted for him it. is only in the 80 percentile for blacks. some black people don't trust OBAMA. the same will happen for other minority candidates with their groups. OBAMA WILL TRY TO HELP EVERYONE, NOT JUST BLACK PEOPLE.

Mr. Obama I have one queston. Are you willing to take military action against Iran if all diplomatic efforts have failed?
MeLikeGoFast 4 years ago
obama is ready to take military action against pakistan so i doubt he'll hesitate when asked about iran.
azeem05 4 years ago
The logicial answer is yes. This isn't inherent to any one leader. Anyone that is President that takes to diplomacy first would resort to military force as a last resort. However, military action must be warranted. Unless you want to open a can of worms, I don't forsee striking Iran unless it is absolutely necessary, which it is not at this time necessary. I see North Korea as more of a threat.
bluelaw84 4 years ago
just curious. Do Americans consider Iran as a threat, if yes then why?
playerjake12 4 years ago
Goodness, you seem so urged to press the button on an issue that's has not really happened yet. Iran is like the soviet union during the cold war right now. And what happened in the cold war, nothing but spending and building unneeded bombs.
And he said that if military force is needed for a situation (including Iran) then he'd use it.
cloclo902003 4 years ago
No he isn't. The rest of us don't wnat to be the cops of the world.
1ojolsen 4 years ago
Senator Obama has stated that he reserves the discretion to take whatever military action the Presidency allows in whatever part of the world said action is required. American foreign policy towards Iran has been dumb for a while now, so Obama has discussed his more judicious proposals in debates and interviews, as well as on his Web-site.
zideaz 4 years ago
Well he's already said yes to that. But he usually also points out that it's silly to raise the question until the other avenues have actually been exhausted.

How so? What has he done? What are his policies other than not being George Bush? I have yet to see someone answer my questions logically.
MeLikeGoFast 4 years ago
I would like to pour over his 8 years being a state legislator, but not enough room. I'm almost puzzled by your comment because his policies are openly accessible to the public. What he's done legislatively is also easily accessible. But I digress...policy wise, he's probably more aggressive on the issue of education and ehtics reform than any other candidate. His healthcare plan makes more sense to me. I'm not keen on garnishing people's wages to force healthcare on them as Hillary plans to do.
bluelaw84 4 years ago
why don't you go to his campaign website where he has many detailed solutions from health care to foreign policy? after reading those you can come back and ask more specific and insightful questions.
gabbomedia 4 years ago
Dude, I suggest you stop asking questions here and start actually doing your homework by yourself. Instead of being cynical because you're not hearing what you expect, go find it out on your own.

u are yet to distinguish a true and patriotic american. Obama is is change. His policies includes the common man in the street. he has the future
gespac 4 years ago
What has he done, well he has gotten pretty far I would say. What has Hillary done, besides sleep with a president, and use her clout with Arkansas based Walmart (her former employer) to take thousands of jobs out of america, and in exchange bring us lots of cheap poison toys. Remember all the trips to China?
1ojolsen 4 years ago
I would say that is pretty obvious that he has done a lot. Look at where he has gotten. If doing nothing got you some where you might be something more than a gear head.
1ojolsen 4 years ago
Learn about Obama's positions on the issues at his website and read your American history. Our democracy is not only about 10-point plans. It's about ideas. What has Obama done? Well, to start, he organized folks in Chicago, helped them take responsibility for their lives and organize to clean up their community. Those are clear results on a grassroots level. The despair was very real but so was the hope that helped them changed their lives. It's really quite simple. And logical.
JamesJayWilson 4 years ago
Why dont you research his policies on certain issues that may affect you. Otherwise you and I both know that he cannot address all issues in one term as president. No one can, not even in two terms. America has taken plenty of risk on the basis of hope. Why should this be any different. So give me a reason why he shouldnt be president? And please come up with something else rather than the norm "he lacks experience". Most people gain experience w/ hands on - so let's try it

ekuwa69 4 years ago
If you do your research and listen to his speeches you will know the answer to this. Protecting America is a top priority he'll do whatever it takes, however Iran is a worldwide threat and the world will keep Iran in check through UN sanctions. Obama is about repairing relations not severing them.

Please research the men and women that Obama has tapped to be his advisors. Read about them because they will be forming his foreign policy.
