I liked this movie. If u get passed some of the scenes that seemed to drag on forever and some worthless characters and simply pay attention to the story it really it quite astounding. Although not Oshii's best, obvisously, but still worth rewatching atleast one more time. The story is good but its execution needed work. But still a good movie.

The producer want to discuss "if you got everlasting time of your life, what will you do?" The youth nowadays tends to waste their time and don't have any goals in their life, the producer just want them to think about what they want in their life.
I see well noticing that we've already had this part of the conversation...I can see why the completely repetitive dialogue and tones pleased you. I watched this movie with 400 people (5 of whom were with me). NOT ONE person I asked (in Korean, English or otherwise) liked this movie. The festival refunded our money...maybe because of the projector maybe because the movie was just bad. I notice you have an Anime icon. Could it be you just like to support the craft? That I'd understand more.

The movie was slow but with little patience, you could have enjoyed it as much as i did. Before watching this, i saw a review saying if you like Jin-Roh and the slow flow of that movie, you'll like this one. People wanted action, like in Ghost in the shell but the movie wasn't about that at all.
Yes but you see...you shouldn't have to have THAT much patience for a movie. It's not that I even wanted action. It's that I wanted there to be something MORE interesting than a dog pooping on a lawn for an hour and 50minutes. You're right...I could have enjoyed the last 10minutes of them movie (which were eh okay but not worth the other time) if only the projector hadn't committed suicide and taken 30 minutes to repair. You know the movie is bad..when even the projector says "MAKE IT STOP!!"

It is very hard to come by a movie like that; a movie that makes you think and doesn't try to give you the message in a silver plate. I wish I could tell you how I really feel about the movie but it is as if I am trying to describe art. It was slow; very slow but in my opinion that was exactly what made it so beautiful.
Well the final message is conveyed right at the end.
When the guy talked with the new female ace and later explain everything before engaging the enemy ace.
even when life just repeats around us, it is this that we should treasure because we can see all the change and evolution of things that makes life all worth while.
anyway reading about what the movie about before hand, is better than watching the movie first I think. Especially for the slow movies or movies you are unsure about.
Yes I have never tried to make animation and these people obviously didn't try to make good animation. I am allowed to have my opinion and after 10 months I still think this movie was the biggest waste of my time. Trying to convince me this movie was good...might be the biggest waster of your/anyone else's time
Just for the record, this "crap" movie is made by Mamoru Oshii. If this doesn't ring a bell, try "Ghost In The Shell", "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence" or "Avalon". All of them, coincidentally, are internationally acclaimed, being nominated at the film festivals in Cannes, Berlin or Venice .
So, if you want to talk about a "crap" movie, I got some advice: see it first, THEN say if you hated it or not. Otherwise, you might lose some great opportunities for keeping quiet.
You know, if you say "these people" at one of Mamoru Oshii's films (or appreciate it by animation only, for that matter) then you should be watching something else entirely
It's funny...I think I said that same thing a YEAR AGO when I posted this response. I have moved on with my life and this movie and the comments I made then (which haven't changed) are still haunting me like a bad nightmare. If you like the movie GREAT!! I don't care. I didn't see those other movies and I probably won't. Just because you make two good movies doesn't mean this one was good. This is the one I saw. I thought it was crap. I've moved on. So should you. DO NOT REPLY! JUST STOP!

First half is a bit slow.
If we could stand such a slow story-flow.
