FF also made playing Spy really easy and people to spycheck really hard except for Pyro.

as i remember that the Fire does not ignite on the Team. only impact dmg from guns.

still, its easy to go stabbing around as spy when no one wants to kill each other

I think one of the main reasons was also spychecking. If FF were still in the game, spies would be overpowered since nobody would want to spycheck.
