  • I'm amused that this got more views than your vidcon video... =)

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l Haha it all depends on how long you keep it on the channel page anyway. If I leave it a week on, it will grow to 120 views or so in my small world.

And then to think, of those humble 60/70 views generally, I refresh/am on the video page some 30/40 times I reckon. I just dunno what to do anymore lolz.. I am now in the process of optimizing tags/video response chains of whole catalogue, after finishing the thumbnails earlier. After that, nothing can be done anymore.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l I was shocked to learn that from August 2010 till now (I started on August 2006, so that is my starting point) I didn't have one new video exceeding 400 views even.

In the years before, there always was a hit video (like, one of 52.000 in 2010).. Which leads me to conclude, no matter what I film or do in a video, it all doesn't matter anymore. Bad vibes, if I still wanna go out and create something new.

Makes no difference, I like this autumn video as much/little as Vidcon

  • @Perico1973 It's interesting sometimes I guess... I'm still baffled as to how my minecraft video got over 60k views and sticking charlie to a wall didn't get as many

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l That's cause Minecraft is extremely popular now, and people search for it.

It never got anything to do with video quality, although your video is great.

My best watched video is a cover of Dixie, cause that is loved by many. Not because my rendition is great. Same with my video about the virtual Titanic. There are millions of Titanic fans all over the globe.

Those things keep me puzzled. Maybe I should pick up more on popular themes or keywords. Do follow ups...

  • @Perico1973 yeh they keep telling me about that on partnersupport apparently we got to look for popular "trends" as they call them, their most popular videos are related to Harry Potter and now that the last film is finished and wounder what is gonna happen next hehe... I'm looking forward to the new tintin movie as I used to watch that as a kid and I'm also looking forward to batman arkham city... that looks brilliant! Oh and the new batman film when it comes out =/

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l I forgot to mention that is apparently the last batman film... AS IF! =p

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l But still, a month ago I decided to make an original song, about those strong trends: HARRY POTTER - TWILIGHT - MUSICALS ... only 230 views so far, thanks to my refreshing in this case mostly...

Seems like, whatever I do, doesn't make a dent. It is very cool you look forward to TinTin and Batman. I absolutely love the TinTin comics, cartoons are ok. Spielberg does magic I guess. I hope for you there are many more Batman films to come. Like em as well. :)

  • @Perico1973 The fact of the matter is even if they do make this "the last one" no doubt some other movie director will try and steal the spotlight. The fact of the matter is you can never kill a classic - even if they end or "die" they'll just get rebooted by someone else (who bets they will remake the Harry Potter movies).

As for trends - it depends not only on the theme, but what has happened recently... but most of the time it's just pure luck.

  • @Perico1973 I'm also looking forward to the next Sherlock Holmes movie... I mean darn, they have remade what Sherlock Holmes used to be - Watson aint fat anymore and Sherlock is much younger looking... not only that (not sure whether or not it was based off a novel / book) but the storyline was as gripping and thrilling as usual - it's like it's been reborn.

  • @W0lfbaneShikaisc00l I agree with you, you can never kill a classic. I am very partial to Jeremy Brett playing Sherlock Holmes in that 41 episodes series by Granada, with David Burke and Edward Hardwicke playing Dr. Watson.

That's more than brilliant. Of course a new and fresh approach is always welcome. Others can play The Joker after Heath Ledger as well. Doesn't hurt the past.

But still, Jeremy Brett was greater than great, just like the feel of the series.

  • I'm hoping the warmth will last here in Ottawa. I want a mild winter. The last few were brutal.

  • @canucktunes I hope so too, Canadian winters would be feared by me. Last 2 winters here were severe according to our standards, never this much snow, plenty of cold.

I just wish August and September at least will still have some nice days then, cause the way it is now, leads to one guaranteed depression soon. I am now randomly reading up on Ellesmere island, most northern tip of Canada. Arctic winters, always a pleasure, lolz.
