Ironicly a single comet can have enough water to rival all the water in the Earth's hydrosphere. There must be countless comets in the outer Solar System some with their own moons around them, with maybe rings and other weird parts. What shells like this must be around other solar systems. This is actually and interesting study in anthropology how people respond to weird events like this. The algorithms that could be generated about perceived happenings is scary anyway.
