  • Wtf that was Jean Fairbanks fault not rory sitey, Fairbanks was the one who went high and through to the ground

  • he was not dropped on his head why red card

  • i play and the rules state a player taken into the air must be returned safely and his legs can not go above his head clearly a red but 12 should of been sent off as well

  • I can IdargosIRL.

  • This is a red card. How can anyone question that.

  • anyone else notice the guys in the blue morph suits lying on the ground at 0:46?

  • I think a clear red.

  • @The99Gambo

Exactly right, Im a referee and sidey made no attempt to land him safely. I would have done the same

  • shoulda been 10. Red for that was ridiculous. But then Gerrard gets a YC for waaay less than that. I guess the refs know all...

  • Yeah fair enough it was a dangerous tackle, but nobody means for an outcome like that. He's clearly upset about it at 2:55, not about the red card, but about the fact he could have broken someones neck. Get off Sidey's back, it was an accident.

  • @deansisqoxv20

Considering i haven't been to prison i'm gonna have to say no ? ... Ha worst comment ever nigger lover im thinking ?.. you clearly like nigger fists in your bum.

  • Exactly! Not only that both 12 and 22 should have been kicked off... one hightackled while the other spear tackled! I hope they rewatch that and get embarrassed for even questioning the card! And saying shit like that's what spoils the game... yeah they do!

  • @smurfette8282 Not sure I totally agree - I think Sidey tackles and lifts but his teammate causes the rotation that ends in the dangerous nature of the tackle. For me it's a red for 12 and not 22. I don't see any intent from 22, 12 dumps him more through carelessness than anything else, but even that warrants a red for 12.

  • wait so whats wrong with that i never watch rugby

  • nfl players have worse then that lol

  • @Stinsonboi NFL players are covered in padding and helmets etc etc. and rugby is a constant game. whilst NFL is 15 seconds of action then 3 minutes of powernapping as the players in it are all quick strength and no stamina.

  • I dont know these teams but I have played alot of rugby so there is no bias. If you alow yourself to be picked up like that then you should eat mud. It was too quick to call as' a purposefull' dangerous tackle.

  • @nomnomnation

Are you retarded? Ndungane was moving forward which equates to momentum. Sidey was stationary, which equates to stability and the ability to "plant" and drive with greater strength and he took Ndungane from a low position, around the legs. Using Ndunganes momentum and his solid, planted position, he very easily lifted Ndungane. You have mud for brains. I've seen forwards, including props, lifted off of their feet and I'd like you to go and tell them they can't play.

  • Anyone know how Ndungane was afterwards?

  • @MrChivs688

Went to the hospital for a check-up. He was fine but suffered a concussion and will likely sit out the next game as a precaution. He was also to be monitored throughout the course of the week.

  • What a cheeky captain saying that his decision makes a massive impact on the game! A true idiot

  • In my opinion its the number 12 who should have been sent off! He hit 14 high and drove his head into the ground. Yes, 22 picks up his legs which is also bad, but 12 did the damage. IMO :/ Noody agree? Horrible tackle in any case!!

  • @Kingsmillions

I think 12 was fine. Thats was around the shoulders and Ndungane (#14) was ducking into contact with Sidey (#22). #22 was the one that elavated him above the horizontal and dropped him. If you're going to lift a guy, you have to make an attempt to "put him down". That is just looking for grief and he should know better as during the 2010 Tri-Nations, 2 or 3 guys were binned for that. Nothing new.

  • r.i.p

  • isit blud ?init dem ruggerby diks is all pussys init dem is diks init spear tackle beer tackle init pussys init mandem bring 20 man init Elton John wud mash up dem pussys init mash up dem heads wit a iron bar he carry init blud

  • @burgerboy you really are retarded, I started MMA training 16 years ago and I also play rugby, so do yourself a favour and shut the fuck up you don't know what your talking about.

  • pussy nigger

  • @cmilksimmy you are so cool. Have you been raped in prison yet?

  • HE DIVED REF!!!!!!

  • Fukkkk! Red card n ban

  • haha fuck the spear, look how much connection his shoulder got on his face at 1:01

  • YEH HES DEAD NOW!

  • that looked pretty accidental to be fair.

  • LOL @ rugby players thinking there hard because they play a rough sport. Wrestle with an MMA fighter, fucking stupid rugby players in there tight tops.

  • @burgerboy800 i dont think ive heard any rugby players say there hard... some of my mates are rugby players and they dont say there hard, there big build ye but they dont gloat saying how immovable they are.

  • what a gay game...fuk

  • fannies these union players

  • sorry but i am an American getting into this sport. Can someone explain to me why it was a red card? was it because the one tackle was up high?

  • @crv26 a spear is an automatic red card i think

  • @crv26 if you lift a player above the horizontal, in other words so his head is below his shoulders, you have to gently bring him to the ground or you risk seriously injuring him

High tackles get penalized, but spear tackles are considered card worthy if the tackler is not careful to gently bring the player down

as you can see, Ndunagane was quite seriously hurt by the tackle

  • @julian8456 thanks for taking the time. that did explain things quite clearly. so it was the lift and not the high tackle. are you allowed to pick players up at all and slam them? i have seen some videos where that occurs but now card is given.

  • @crv26

your allowed to slam a player to the ground as long as his head and shoulders are not the first things to hit the ground. Its a fine line between a great tackle and a yellow card.

High tackles, ie grabbing the person around the throat or head are penalty worthy, but have to be really bad to constitute a card

  • @julian8456 thank you sir.

  • @crv26 Its basically cause he dumped him on his head, also known as a spear tackle which is a illegal, therefore he got a red

  • great tackle. red card a fucking joke

  • Sharp, "That's gonna have a massive bearing on the game!" Lol should've thought of that before making a dangerous tackle! Sidey was pissed that Ndungane made him look like a chump when he scored a try earlier and wanted some retribution. Well he has three weeks to think about it.

  • This is clearly defined in the rules as dangerous play and warrants an immediate red card.

Pity he only got a 3 week ban when a South African got a 4 week ban for the same... will this biased attitude towards SA teams ever end?

  • From IRB 2009 Law Amendments:

    10.4 (i) 61 Lifting and dropping a

    player

Ruling 5 2005 The spear tackle has now been described in

Law as a result of a Ruling and is regarded as

    foul play.

  • Its great sport.. most people i showed this to they said that this dident deserve a red card, but if you did this in golf or snooker....

  • I think if either of them deserved the red it was Fairbanks...

  • any news on the injury?

  • Mattjames.... The all seeing oracle... If it were in the rules to tackle like that then why was he sent off? Ohh hold on let me guess you play 4th team rugby for a pub side and know it all. It's a dangerous tackle end of.

  • @jicsmooth You are a idiot mate, i am 200% sure i am playing much higher rugby level then you. But I didnt say it wasnt a bad tackle. It just didnt deserve a red card... ruin a game because Ndungane run soft and got smashed...

  • @jicsmooth ......wat?

  • Learn the rules... that didnt deserve a red card

  • @mattjames999 I think you will find, that if you personally were in Ndungane's shoes, you would be calling for the red.

  • @mattjames999

Your spot on there mate, should have been a yellow

  • @mattjames999 of course it did are you dumb?

  • @ByronDavel1 It was most definitelly a penalty and yellow card... but that kind of offence is not something you thats needs a red card and ruins the game... Ndungane got slammed on his back, not his neck or head. Only reason he went of was for precaution. I saw him next day at airport and he said he was fine.

  • @mattjames999

He was concussed and will sit out of the next game. And if you know your sports, you'd know concusssions are not just some little thing. Unchecked concussions can kill you. It was a dirty thing to do and professional rugby players should know they're looking for trouble when lifting a player above the horizontal. And does a guy have to land on his head or neck for it to be dangerous?

  • @thestaggie Shows what you know you idiot... he was fine to play

  • @mattjames999

I was speaking on the news I was reading and hearing BEFORE the next game. replying AFTER he has played does not make you smart. So, because he played it was all okay? James Kamana was just cited and got a 3 week suspension for a spear-tackle. Spears are bullshit, illegal and will get in the shit, get with it son.

  • @mattjames999

And Kamana's spear was far more harmless than Sidey's. Kamana did not really even drop his opponent.

  • @mattjames999

And what do you know, you're an Aussie. One can only imagine the song you'd be singing if Ndungane had been the one that speared Sidey. He'd be another thug from South Africa trying to maim somebody.

  • And they have the balls to question the red card! Laughable.
