I don't know how Hamilton would have done in a RBR and maybe we'll never know. It doesn't matter. Last year it was a tough fight with Webber as Sebastian still had to learn alot. He's had a perfect season so far and if you look at the qualifyings he has always put down a fast lap when he needed to. He's a good driver period.

He's currently 4th in this years drivers classification, yet he has the same basic car. It's about consistency and not pure specs. The RBR lacks topspeed but still has a better pace given a talented driver behind the wheel.

@DAJAZDJ1 I can't tell how Vettel would do in a Ferrari or McLaren, but my guess is he'd be fast in any competitive car. Formula 1 is about different teams in the grid with all their ups and downs. There are plenty of other series with identical cars racing. It's a hit-and-miss scenario though.

Ayrton tested a F1 for the first time in the end of 1983, with Williams. A few weeks later he tested the McLaren, and then with the Toleman team, signing after that a contract for one year (1984) with them.

Eddie Jordan owned a F3000 team and only entered F1 in 1991.

But wait... are you talking about testing in F1 or in other categories?

@JMRRF Points mean nothing in light of talent and duration racing. Schumi started in a good car, and ended in a good car, a car that COULD win. Only the passed two years has he had this issue with the car not being fast enough even for a podium. Senna had 10 years to do what he did, only 4 of which with a car that could win a WDC.
