for those that think this is about as loud as a little snap cap gun you obviously have never fired a suppressed rifle. listen carefully and you hear an echo. that's because the camera makes it quieter with an audio clamp..

@hilers72652 thats not an echo thats the bullet traveling down range and breaking the subsonic barrier. It would reduce the bang by at least 50% the bolt slamming back would probably be louder than the bang itself. a suppressed gun doesn't echo like that. unless u have a shtty suppressor.

@yungkingkong225 i have one too, he shows the fake suppressor, but the silver one is a real suppressor, it's only an inch or so longer then the fake. your barrel comes to the end of the can, his stops within the silver can, most of the exhaust pressure is diverted back into the can and is noticeably quieter.

Also, the ATF made GSG recall all rifles made like this. They had to redesign the fake can because they were too easy to convert.

To the poster of the video- forget your prototype. Gemtech already makes a nice GSG suppressor that's permanently part of the shortened barrel. The outer tube remains fixed while the baffle stack can be removed for cleaning.

Shortening a barrel to a length under 16" is also allowed in most states.

Jesus these comments are the biggest load of crap out there. You CAN legally own a silencer in most states. If your state allows ownership you can legally build one with permission from the ATF. It requires a different form that just purchasing one.

The original MP5SD was suppressed by drilling holes in the barrel to bleed gas and that is why the round is so slow it's like shooting a .380.

i dont understand how this suppresor works. its basically the same shroud that was taken off, just with the baffle. it goes over a completely enclosed barrel. how does this barrel release the gasses into the suppresor? someone please explain this to me cause i ain't figured that shit out YET.

This is not a true suppressor. I understnd that you left the original barrel on, but you would have gotten much more sound reduction if you got a shorter barrel and used more baffels. For what it is it does work alittle but it could be much better.

I am confused as to how this suppressor can function. It appears that the inner barrel goes almost all the way to the end of the suppressor. Is the sound moderation coming from only that one cap at the very end? I can easily see how perforating the barrel would make a huge difference with this setup, but I don't see how it currently functions. A reply with some sense would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

the fake supressor is now listed by the ATF as an NFA item requiring the class 3 license. if you own one, you have to send the fake supressor back. it's to stupid. the only reason they did this is because of STUPID PEOPLE like this guy who tell others how to make an illegal supressor. The sound you hear from a gun comes out the end of the barrel. Therefore the silencer must be placed at he end of it, not around it. The bullet must pass through the silencer. This is scam and a waste of money. For christ sake listen to the video. its no quiter than factory.

other than the fact that they are (probably) using high velocity ammunition,

sometimes (usually) people try to demo their cans on video and for some reason the microphones are really good at picking up the discharge frequencies and they sound louder than they actually are.

if the used the same ammo through the whole vid it s weird that it got louder outside. maybe distance from or angle to the gun changed.

it's always way louder when i shoot in the house.

I've been looking at this a lot.. if you get a spacer so the barrel is inside of the stock tube it might do almost the same thing, since gasses will expand in the barrel shroud. If you look in the shroud the way it's made on the working end would actually work quite well as a baffle...
