I filled out the census and none of these questions were asked - they just wanted to know how many people lived in the apartment and nothing else was asked on the questionaire.

i didn't answer shit three times at my door three times i told them there was 3 in the house and that's it every time they asked my name i told them the government already knew who i was and i was on the red list anyway hehe .
oh yeah, and census workers (enumerators) do actually use the gps info taken last year. it is especially useful in the case where a worker is trying to find a house which is very difficult to find. census workers use the maps spots that were created in the gps canvassing period. these map spots are very useful, as addresses/houses change within the span of every 10 years. they are typically quite accurate and helpful, unless the address canvasser was being careless or was confused.
uh, i've moved 4 times or more in the last ten years....do you actually think the census only counts homeowners who are permanantly living in their homes? it accounts for everyone, even transients who tend to move every other week...i would have been totally missed for the deathcamp roundups five years ago (if they happened) as i was living in a totally different state than i do in 2010...do you honestly think that the needed info about you can not be found in less obvious ways?

i feel compelled to go on...apt complexes where the entire complex was given JUST 1 SAME gps coordinate for all of the very important front doors...county assessor,which provides public info knows more than the census (most census info is not legally public).assessors will give the name of the owners and their mailing address. census doesn't even necessarily ever even get that info when everything comes to an end.census doesn't ask about religion or beliefs. it is rather impersonal.

The GPS is for making accurate maps of housing units in a given county so that a Census Taker and determine the status of that house on April 1st of 2010. If you'd spend half the time you use making crap up on actual research you'd know that. People are so quick to judge something they know nothing about. I joined the Census to figure out how this works from the inside (And maybe bring my monkey wrench in with me) and essentially what they are telling us is that the GPS coordinates are used to help us enumerators accurately locate houses, especially ones without addresses, mail boxes, or houses only identifiable by landmarks, etc.
It CAN be abused, but from what I'm seeing here on the inside, it is being used legitimately at least.
Good grief! If we know where all the front doors are.. we can ensure that every house gets counted. Every property in the country is recorded by coordinates at your county tax assessor.

The reason the Census goes around and gathering coordinates for houses is so they can easily locate house that need an agent to actually go to the door because they failed to turn in the Census form.

If the Census Bureau was in accordance with the law, they wouldn't have bought a Super Bowl ad and many others to plea for filling out the form; they would have just said its mandatory by law that you answer all the questions. Also, Question 1 is enclosed in a box separately from the others, indicating that it is the one question you are legally entitled to answer.
Here's an idea. Answer question 1 and leave the rest blank. In the prepaid envelope stuff a print out copy of the constitution, underlining the section that states that the government is allowed to take an enumeration of all citizens every ten years. This works twofold. One, it wastes the US Census buro money because of the high cost of postage to mail a lot more than a one page form to them. Two, it scares the living hell out of the US gov't because it shows we know our rights. It's legal
Actually having GPS coordinates for individuals allows us to categorize you by your personal information, affiliations and disposition in a way that may be beneficial to us in the future. By us I mean the government. By beneficial I mean fill in the blank. Look it's more than just ad targeting based on your internet preferences this is the big scale. It can lead to politically directed campaigns that appeal to your personal data. It also has military Marshal Law potential.
These people are not very sensible. The census only needs to know the GPS locations so that when people don't send their forms back in the census-takers can go and interview them in person. I'm not a fan of the government, either - but none of the information they ask you on the census form is information they can't find somewhere else - good grief. Besides, the Census Bureau does not share any info with any other government agencys.

Where in the law does it require Americans to give the number of people in the household to the census worker? It must specifically be written in law for it to be required so where is the requirement that I have to provide the number of people in the home to the census? The constitution does not require an American to answer any census questions whatsoever.
They do GPS mapping because the Census determines representation in the congress BASED ON WHERE YOU LIVE! Not where you get your mail which may be in another congressional district.

This census only asks how many people, age, etc. 10 questions.
The much feared GPS is only to update the existing maps to make sure the residence is being counted in the correct district.
The order says where your feet are is where you are counted. This has been determined as where your feet live. Not where you get your mail, which for some rural people may be miles away.
Besides, the census would be a VERY inefficient way to "Track" people tactically.
An enumeration of the peoples of the states... Obviously the location is an aspect. HOWEVER, GPS at my door is unnecessary. The government has existed since 1790 without the need to GPS cache my door... It is irrelevant to the count... Only county or city location...
Previous to this year maps were hand drawn with locations set by landmarks, and street reference points.
Congressional districts are irregular based on this population information (if you disregard political hyjinks and attempts to gerrymander).
GPS only makes it more accurate. It isn't "nefarious". If someone wanted to "Target" a house, all they need is a near description and you can pinpoint it from a satellite. Low census numbers only help dangerous industrial concerns.

If it helps 'round up' all of the illegals I will certainly provide them with information. I "DON'T" think that income or spending should be part of the survey but a head count is certainly fine with me. GPS is simply the best way to make sure a housing unit is listed once and only once. It's just an alternative form of addressing. If you wanna know your own GPS coordinates, punch your address in on the internet. I spose the Bureau could do that too, but they need to go door to door to make sure a home is not vacant, foreclosed, whether it may have two units in one, etc. They just make everyone to have a chance to be counted and get their share of the federal pie; or someone else gets it.

i feel compelled to go on...apt complexes where the entire complex was given JUST 1 SAME gps coordinate for all of the very important front doors...county assessor,which provides public info knows more than the census (most census info is not legally public).assessors will give the name of the owners and their mailing address. census doesn't even necessarily ever even get that info when everything comes to an end.census doesn't ask about religion or beliefs. it is rather impersonal.

being that the census only occurs every 10 years, some, or most of this 'roundup/lazerbeam' gps info would become incredibly inaccurate within that time frame. houses get torn down....or remodeled...people move often (especially renters), and are only trackable by the info they divulge to other agencies, both corporate/other business, and gov't...if you're worried about being 'tracked and rounded up', then don't divulge any info about yourself to any public or private agency, whatsoever...

I don't honestly believe that anyone with a problem should actually leave the country (I think most of us would be gone if that was the case), but this video makes a huge deal out of nothing at all. The GPS is for making accurate maps of housing units in a given county so that a Census Taker and determine the status of that house on April 1st of 2010. If you'd spend half the time you use making crap up on actual research you'd know that. People are so quick to judge something they know nothing about. I joined the Census to figure out how this works from the inside (And maybe bring my monkey wrench in with me) and essentially what they are telling us is that the GPS coordinates are used to help us enumerators accurately locate houses, especially ones without addresses, mail boxes, or houses only identifiable by landmarks, etc.
It CAN be abused, but from what I'm seeing here on the inside, it is being used legitimately at least.

The reason the Census goes around and gathering coordinates for houses is so they can easily locate house that need an agent to actually go to the door because they failed to turn in the Census form.

If the Census Bureau was in accordance with the law, they wouldn't have bought a Super Bowl ad and many others to plea for filling out the form; they would have just said its mandatory by law that you answer all the questions. Also, Question 1 is enclosed in a box separately from the others, indicating that it is the one question you are legally entitled to answer.

Here's an idea. Answer question 1 and leave the rest blank. In the prepaid envelope stuff a print out copy of the constitution, underlining the section that states that the government is allowed to take an enumeration of all citizens every ten years. This works twofold. One, it wastes the US Census buro money because of the high cost of postage to mail a lot more than a one page form to them. Two, it scares the living hell out of the US gov't because it shows we know our rights. It's legal

Actually having GPS coordinates for individuals allows us to categorize you by your personal information, affiliations and disposition in a way that may be beneficial to us in the future. By us I mean the government. By beneficial I mean fill in the blank. Look it's more than just ad targeting based on your internet preferences this is the big scale. It can lead to politically directed campaigns that appeal to your personal data. It also has military Marshal Law potential.

These people are not very sensible. The census only needs to know the GPS locations so that when people don't send their forms back in the census-takers can go and interview them in person. I'm not a fan of the government, either - but none of the information they ask you on the census form is information they can't find somewhere else - good grief. Besides, the Census Bureau does not share any info with any other government agencys.

This census only asks how many people, age, etc. 10 questions.
The much feared GPS is only to update the existing maps to make sure the residence is being counted in the correct district.
The order says where your feet are is where you are counted. This has been determined as where your feet live. Not where you get your mail, which for some rural people may be miles away.
Besides, the census would be a VERY inefficient way to "Track" people tactically.

Previous to this year maps were hand drawn with locations set by landmarks, and street reference points.
Congressional districts are irregular based on this population information (if you disregard political hyjinks and attempts to gerrymander).
GPS only makes it more accurate. It isn't "nefarious". If someone wanted to "Target" a house, all they need is a near description and you can pinpoint it from a satellite. Low census numbers only help dangerous industrial concerns.

the census was hiring in my area, my wife almost got hired, her friend did and Im pretty sure neither of them was a gov spy, go easy on the door to door info takers, they are just working for a living, as for the rest, it is a bit spooky, I think they just have giant computers now and want lots of info to install so they are worth their wages as bean counters. if they want to zap you from space, they wont need any sneaky census takers help.......:)

If it helps 'round up' all of the illegals I will certainly provide them with information. I "DON'T" think that income or spending should be part of the survey but a head count is certainly fine with me. I'm sure there are plenty who want to hide the illegals but hopefully the day is coming when they will be purged.

it is only required by law once every ten years....the census is data miners for the us government....the gps is for the round ups....no law says you even have to answer the door....as for the g.p.s.they will get it anyway...its just like when a cop shows up with a arrest warrant...you dont have to open the door.resist as much as possible

LOL This sounds paranoid to me. The census is what determins how much money your area gets. Be honest with them or don't gripe when the potholes don't get fixed. I don't like giving out lots of personal info either but get real people. That info is out there anyways. They are just getting a picture of the country and how many are here. There is nothing evil behind it. I was friends with a census taker 10 yrs ago. It's a hard job. Be nice to them.

GPS is simply the best way to make sure a housing unit is listed once and only once. It's just an alternative form of addressing. If you wanna know your own GPS coordinates, punch your address in on the internet. I spose the Bureau could do that too, but they need to go door to door to make sure a home is not vacant, foreclosed, whether it may have two units in one, etc. They just make everyone to have a chance to be counted and get their share of the federal pie; or someone else gets it.
