  • Sold out...

  • About time someone cloned the Neo Geo

  • I can vouch for Mark's claim that you can club animals with an Atari Lynx.

  • That thing is amazing! Too bad the price is that high...

  • @mitzibishi, Your 360 and Ps3 comment was funny though, save it for the kids.

  • @mitzibishi, Hold your horses brother, my question was sincere. I own a few Pc classics but never focused on Pc. If I wanted to crack you over the head I'd tell I have over 44 systems, Pc based systems and over 2,000 classics mostly all mib or sealed including about 70% of the Neo Geo Aes collection all mib and spend about $12,000 every 3 months.

  • @mitzibishi, Any recommended Pc exclusive titles that would embarass something like God of War 3 in graphics and gameplay? If there's a few I'd like to check em out if it's worthy exclusive stuff.

  • @gamecollect101 graphics in 2011 wise witcher 2, Hard Reset, are you pulling the old "exclusives" trash, in 2011 there were more than 90 PC exclusives, thats just 2011. theres more PC exclusives each year than in ps3 and xboxs lifetime, dont pull that 1.

  • shock troopers is a good game, Neo-Geo was like what PCs are over consoles today if Neo Geo had any multiplatform games

  • SNK IS MAKING A HANDHELD!? kotaku(dot)com/5879082/the-return-of-the-neo+geo/gallery/3

  • $650 JEEBUZ

  • Shoctroopers ftw!!!

    MVHH

  • Everyone should support (purchase) this console instead of hacking away at the original Aes systems, besides the asking price on modded Aes systems is ridiculous and overpriced, I'd rather have this complete custom by a long shot.

  • I so want one of these. In the 'Walnut' version! With an additional controller and a copy of Samurai Shodown 2!

  • I like how the cartridges have freaking heat vents.

  • why aren't more consoles made outta wood? that'd be so cool to have a wooden wii! XD

  • @NinjaApe101 i think they made the PS3s graphics card and CPU out of wood didnt they? PS3 CPU=1 wood block and 7 wood chips. and the ps3s gfx chip is so old they must have carved it from wood. and the 256mb ram is a slither of tree bark

  • @mitzibishi jeez someones hating ps3 lol

  • tell them about you love for festers quest

  • damn those cartridges look crazy as hell

  • This plus the games plus the arcade stick soooooo expensive!

  • Can you donate this to me? Thanks Mark! <3

  • Thanks for the console porn, Mark. A shame I will never be able to own one.

  • great looking, clean and smooth console........i want one

  • Where is that thing slim? lol

  • @byakugan03 Well, from an Arcade Cabinet to that "small" console, for me it's slim.

  • @somahiru lol :)

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE Neo-Geo! (Insert "wood" double entendre here)

  • On google chrome it says classic game room- ANAL in the tab.

  • I don't care what I have to pawn. I'm buying one. I love ash too. I am a wood freak and I need this.

  • @REDKLOK so i'm gessing this gave you wood?

  • @naMhtaeD guessing*

  • "and you can club animals with that thing."

  • Neo-Geo is too expensive for its own good!

  • This is why I subscribe. Never heard of some of the consoles like these before. Its edu-tainment

  • Not really worth it, psn is porting Neo Geo games.

  • @steve5123456789 This system is mostly for serious collectors and enthusiasts.

  • @NINJACH0P957 Just get a sega saturn instead.

  • @steve5123456789 I don't own one of these, but if I could, I would cause it's classy. A Saturn sounds really cool, but I'd rather have a Vectrex.

  • @NINJACH0P957 Bit to old for me. Would get bored within afew minutes with a vectrex.

  • @steve5123456789 yes but they are emulated and don't run as well as on the neo geo. also the I prefer the arcade sticks. simply put neo geo aes is arcade perfect and neo geo station is not. it still is for the real hardcore games and enthusiast though. others are just fine with the emulated versions of the games although I doubt all aes games will be emulated

  • Too many expensive MVS bootlegs on the web now, not worth it and people on NEO-GEO forums don't even respect the price guide.

  • I've never understood the appeal of owning any Neo Geo console, especially in this day and age when you can buy the games on download services or multi-game anthologies for real low cheap (you can get 7 Metal Slug games for one money, give or take).

  • @ethinethin Its for people who just want things like these for collecting purposes.

Like some people who collect bottle caps........

  • @ethinethin I can tell you aren't a collector. It is much more satisfying to own and play a game with the original hardware than just owning a digital download or compilation CD.

  • @glitchedgamer I actually am a collector, and do prefer owning games and playing on the original hardware whenever I can. Neo Geo is just prohibitively expensive.

  • I have a 4 slot mvs cab in my living room but I still want this! Ugh! Too much gaming stuff to buy! Vita, Supaboy, then this...maybe? Keep up the great work CGRHD!

  • i clicked on this since it said "ANAL" doh!

  • I'd rather go buy the Neo-Geo collection on PS2 for $10 and it comes with Shock Troopers.

  • why did i feel like this was a infomercial

  • @TOXICPIN3APPL3Z

Because you struggle with your writing, let alone comprehension of YouTube videos?

  • @ifedthehorse

ok little bitch fuck and your fucking family to me it sounded like an infomercial u don't have to be a litle smart ass punk and comment on my comment. EVERYONE IS INTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION

  • @TOXICPIN3APPL3Z

Uh, yeah, that's why everyone is entitled to reply to someone's opinion. It works both ways, genius.

  • Holy monkey! Can you please do this for SNES! I would gladly pay a divorce-worthy sum to own my favorite console in a beautiful and slim wood grain cabinet! Yes, I know, 16 bit shit but I grew up with Zelda and Metroid so SNES was the last system I had while I was still a child...

  • @sage11x

16 bit was the best gen of onsoles

  • @girochin007 Installed in each unit is a genuine, original and refurbished SNK MV-1C motherboard. They are not taken out of old arcade cabinets. Arcades are of course not as popular as they were in their heyday, so its relatively easy to find large depositories of loose arcade motherboards. So don't worry, we aren't destroying or harming any old classic cabinets. SNK produced many different variations of motherboards. Check out all the variations of motherboards at hardmvs.com under "PCB Guide"

  • I say take it a step further and carv out the Neo Geo log, then fill it in gold.

  • I JUST SCART MYSELF.

  • I kinda wish someone would clone the Neo Geo and allow you to play both cart and disk.

  • What about the DIP switches?

  • @elfhater0404

All soft DIPs can be accessed directly through the UniBios 3.0

  • Nice but if you're not a collector remember Mame is your friend.

  • The Neo Geo drinking game

Take a shot each time he says Neo Geo...

  • @Chikunnism <nTJOÑQGH9A GASD DID I WIN??*^'P

    Ç

  • @Chikunnism And now I'm going to be horribly sick in about five minutes or so... Thanks.

  • @Chikunnism take 2, you said it twice.

  • @Chikunnism No thanks, I don't want to die of alcohol poisoning.

  • is it really made of wood?

  • @IblisLucario64 Same thing I was wondering.

  • @IblisLucario64 it has a wood finish, its not wood all the way through lol

  • Nice! GREAT HARDCORE COLLECTIVABLE! THANKS MAN!

NOW i got ANOTHER reason to hate TERMITES! LMFAO! DUDE

IM consolizing one as we speak DUDE this system ROCKS! I got the

    MV_1C Thanks

  • As amazing as the Neo Geo is, I can't imagine spending almost 3x more than a modern system for one. 850? Not a chance when there are emulators :p

  • We must see a gameplay video of this beast

  • So let me add this up: A new Neo Geo MVS with nothing=$650, a controller=$200, and one game=$300. So that's $1,150 just to be able to play the darn thing. Holy shit! And I thought PS3 was expensive. lol

  • epic!

  • i just got a boner

  • THAT'S A LOT OF NEO-GEO

  • I hope no one is gutting good MVS cabs to makes these. If the cabinet can't be saved fair enough but if good official arcade cabinets are being butchered I'll have to murder someone. lol

  • Oh and I heard this was carved from the ark!

  • Thank fuck for emulators lol

  • Botchamania fans...you know what a wind jammer is. lol

  • I could get three MVS arcade machines for the price of one of these. lol

  • can this play aes games too?

  • @reesercliff

The Analogue CMVS Slim is compatible with MVS cartridges only - but, with the UniBios 3.0, you can switch between MVS (arcade) and AES (home) mode with all games. This means that you get to play every Neo Geo game in the exact AES and MVS modes.

  • @reesercliff

There is absolutely no difference between AES mode on an MVS cartridge and a real AES cart. MVS and AES PCBs utilize the same exact chips - so there is no feature lost with the addition of this nifty bios (the UniBios 3.0). So you get the best of all worlds & the widest Neo Geo library all at the cheapest prices possible.

  • It's a nice looking console. Obviously not for everyone, but collectors with deep pockets will go nuts for it.

I'm personally more of a fan of the AES system since that what I grew up with. I also like to have a memory card slot and optical audio output.

I'm also not a big fan of cheating so I specifically went with the arcade debug rom instead of the UniBios.

  • Where does he put all of these really expensive game consoles and gear?

  • 2:42 I personally trimmed that cable. :)

  • Soooo.... is this like a reproduction Neo-Geo console?

  • @Disthron No... This is basically the guts of the NEO GEO MVS arcade cabinet stuck into a console. They use the original board out of the cabinet so it's not a reproduction.

  • @girochin007 Ah, so the shell is new but the inards are from a stand up arcade machine. Very interesting.

  • ugly

  • Hot dayum That's some good mofon shot right there dude

  • My awesome Caanoo is a fraction of the size of the cartridge and a fraction of the cost. And can hold about every Neo Geo game there is.

This is still a pretty neat device but no way would I plop down the expense for it.

  • Comment removed

  • Get the cabinet for REAL enthusiasts.

  • How does the size of the cartridge compare to nintendo wii ?:)

  • Wow, that gamepad looks awesome!

  • how much does this cost

  • @mariosmashfann The game system itself *new* is $650.00 and the Joystick is $200.00. So $850.00 pre tax to get you started and that doesn't not include the game cartridges. they're on Ebay for anywhere from 30 to 150 depending on game.

  • @VipermanSBD For that kind of money you could get a full arcade cabinet and then some.

  • @gamemaster14neo Absolutely, I agree, or you could go for a full blown iPad 2. :)

  • Music,please.

  • Wow, this review is just up, and these guys are already quoting you on their website. :O

  • You can almost buy a whole Neo-Geo 4 cart arcade cabinet for the price of the CMVS Slim and 2 of their controllers costs. Very overpriced for a 3rd party console that plays older games like this does.

  • Looks like a developer unit.

  • Wow these prices are ridiculous..i love the neogeo but i'll stick with my own modified MVS für 100$ ... the case is nice though.

  • Comment removed

  • Iam happy with my neo geo aes console. I just need the convertor for avs games.

  • "And you can club animals with that thing."

    MWAHAHAHAHAHA

  • "And you can club animals with that thing" Haha

  • they should make a classy Genesis like this. it'd sell ,really well .

  • @Adam420Dreadz

Was thinking the very same thing. That would be awesome.

  • this ,is , a ,BEAUTIFUL console.

  • I want!!

  • Fits ''easily'' Fiddle fiddle fiddle

  • WHY?!! Why can't SNK produce a Neo Geo Arcade Stick Controller for $50 with AV cables where you can stick in SD cards containing games you download from their website? Sega is doing that kind of thing now for $30 and their joystick games without SD card support is $50.

  • Now wait, you get a 60 day warranty on this thing, when buying it new? That's ridiculous for a 650$ console. Here in Germany you have at least a 24 months warranty, on any electrical device you buy, in some cases even 36. I think they should have more confidence in this console, or it's in fact just not as reliable as it has to be. o\

  • @Shmazeturuz That's because of Germany Engineering. I guess German Enginerring got to be quite good after WWII. Anyway, apparently here in the states, nobody can make money off products that last years anymore.

  • @WebVManReturns If it would be as good as you tell, then I guess the war would have ended differently ^^ Jokes aside ^^_ (Btw. I'm a liberal person, lol) But I mean, you just will get the same customers in the future, if the product you're selling is good enough to last for years, so it's not that big deal to guarantee that it will work for at least quite some time. Hhhmmm, that kind of reminds me on my Razer Onza TE, broke down 2 times in the last 6 months, lol.

  • @WebVManReturns Most of the Europe has 24 months warranty.

  • I just have a question:

What the point about such a price?

I think that with that much you can actually start producing new unit.

  • Does'nt get more organic than that!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So you don't have to google it this thing goes for $649 and the controller is $199. Damn Mark you weren't kidding this thing goes for Bentley prices.

  • does it support neo-geo aes cartridges? what's the price for this btw? i fear, a lot. since "even" collecting games for aes probably will cost you a fortune. the controller port for this thing looks like one for the famicon btw.

  • LOOKS LIKE IM VIEWER 302

  • no gameplay? :<

  • As much as I love the NeoGeo and want to tell the world about it. The more people who collect MVS carts the more expensive they will get, the less games I will be able to affort.

And this beauty makes it easy to get into MVS collecting. And it's soooooooo pretty.

    I DON'T LIKE IT! XD

  • IT'S BIG IT'S HEAVY IT'S WOOD

    LOG LOG

  • SCART!

  • Welcome viewer 302

  • Making MVS collectible is just backwards. MVS gaming is about the games and nothing else, leave the collecting and high prices to the homecart assholes. If you wanna play MVS get a cab and do it properly!

  • man this is a masterpièce

  • Also worth noting is that while the MVS Slim is very expensive, the games are much cheaper than an AES (but not a NGCD). Plus there are more games for it. So really, it's still for diehard collectors, but it's for the diehards that want to save money in the long run.

  • viral dog go destroy evry console you see!

  • $650.....

  • I like how your hand movements don't match what you're saying...

  • Mark! Mark! Mark!

I got the Classic Game Room documentary :D

I had no clue you directed a bunch of movies.

  • very cool

  • Did I just watch a commercial?

  • I wish they would make an xbox 360 or a ps3 like that.

  • @muiecopyright then itll burn lol

  • What's the difference between CMVS & AES, as I see official consoles going under that acronym?

  • @kenbefound The MVS is from the actual Arcade Machine.... The AES was a dedicated Home console based on the arcade hardware but used dedicated cartridges for it. They are crazy expensive (150-200 bucks!) The MVS ones run anywhere from 20-100 bucks at max).. Also, there are many awesome games that were never made available for AES (Nightmare in the Dark and others). So this system is by far and incredible invested given the money you save on games......

  • @jstark069 Wow! That's great to know. Is there a forum you can recommend so I learn more? Thanks to Mark I have come across a whole new world of video games goodness!

  • @kenbefound Google is your friend on that stuff. I have one of these systems and they are amazing for what you get. You can read posts on here of people complain about price. But you could hunt down and arcade machine for 450, and you have no clue about reliability, and repairs (Screen, controls). Also, the money you save on games and connectivity. They really are not charging very much for the amount of polish they put into this thing. I have the Walnut one. This and my Gamecube Q <3

  • @jstark069 Thanks, I saw a walnut one on YouTube and it has all types of connections on the back....was that a previous version or unique to the walnut vs black? I've emailed ANALOGUE INTERACTIVE a couple times this week but not getting any answers, maybe they're on vacation or something...

  • @kenbefound I have the Walnut one with all the connector options. The 1st run had that setup I think. I'm glad I got that type of setup, because the specialty cable they make for the new ones are VERY unique... If anything ever happens to it you are very literally screwed. I like that I can just use my own cables and not worry about losing one or going bad, and then never being able to find another because they only made so many.... Because of that.... Buy a few extra of them....

  • @kenbefound

    Hey Ken,

That is the original CMVS we produced with universal RCA jacks on the rear. The new Analogue CMVS Slim has the exact same video outputs but all slimmed down to a single DIN jack for a cleaner & more minimal style. The unique cables are no trouble - they are built with high quality components and we have produced plenty to go around. We have responded to your emails - check your junk or spam box, sometimes emails get filtered there from certain email services.

  • @jstark069 I also wanted to tell you that if you don't want to break the bank, or don't really cared about being a hardcore collector... I "HIGHLY RECOMMEND" checking out the Neo Geo Multicarts available.... There is a 161 in 1 cart that I got from the Jammaboards site... Pops right in... No issues what so ever.... Also has many modded versions of games on it :)

  • i still remember when i was the second

  • The fracking system itself costs 600 bucks. I can buy a used Neo-Geo for 300 on amazon. What a fracking rip off.

  • @ProblematicIdea Yes, but the PS3 was sold for 599 dollars at launch and has since received price cuts on a regular basis. This monster will only go up in price.

  • @ProblematicIdea Not with the money you save on the games... AES games came be over 250 bucks.. MVS games can cost anywhere from 20-100 at max... I have a huge collection....

  • ending XD, I think Atari should release a Soilid Metal Atari 2600 with a Birch wood effect have it weigh between 20 and 30 lbs and has alot of games built in :P Set price 25-100$

  • @uberboy100 HA-HA HOW KNOW??WTF?

  • @uberboy100 roses are red

    violets blah blah

    shut the fuck up

    u r a fag

  • show us gameplay!!!!! When you do these videos!!!! please. :-)

  • @GlockNinja look at the game videos he mentions later in the review then :B

  • why would you

  • @ochick1 woops half typed a comment

  • @GlockNinja Why? He reviewed a bunch of games using the console!

  • @GlockNinja He already posted several videos of games being played on this system

  • @GlockNinja yeah he really needs to show us some damn gameplay for once. Like after he reviews the console show some gameplay of it in action!!
