  • Have u seen Japanese ppl speak some english because im planning going to Japan someday and want 2 know i can be prepared

  • wow what gives... its gorgeous!!!

  • Thank you for making these videos! I've always wanted to visit Japan, and seeing your videos always makes me want to go even more.

  • du brauchst ne bessere kamera

  • 2:27 you look is funny xD

4:52 I have seen photos of it, it's sooo beautiful and there is no light broken.

In germany are light often broken.

  • 2:16 this is so cute ^^

and this video looks great, Japan is beautiful

  • love youer vids its funny when the women say hi to u

  • To tell you the truth, in all the time I've made youtube videos (more than 2 years) that's only happened twice and within 2 days....very weird!

  • wow...great vid-

    enjoyed the light show!

    :)

  • Cool! Glad you liked it. Apparently the lights are based on an Italian form of lighting!

  • I speak very little. I am studying at the moment though and hope to improve. When I arrived here I had absolutely no Japanese. It's tough, but you can get by without any (if you live in the city). I'd recommend studying once you arrive though.Life is a lot easier and you'd get more out of being here if you can communicate with the locals!

  • Whats a gaijin?

I think i heard that word used in the movie fast and the furious tokyo drift?

  • "Gaijin" is a term that means "away person" or basically foreigner. It's not the most polite term for foreigners, but the foreign community embraces it. The more formal and polite version is "gaikokujin."

  • Kevin-san. I'm sorry. And thank you for understanding.

    Yes.

    * "Gaijin" is no use.

    * "Gaikokujin" is right.

Japanese ppl does not know Japanese words and really childish to international community.

  • Great vid, Kev.

Maybe it's because Kobe was the first place I went to in Japan, but I still think Kobe kicks ass over most other cities in Japan (including Tokyo).

  • My first city too and I love it here. I cant imagine living elsewhere!

  • that light show is pretty bad ass man!!

    are you alone?

    cool vid!

  • It was pretty cool! I wasnt alone...my wife was with me. Thanks for watching!

  • I knew people noticed you talking to a camera!!!!

    LOL

  • Sometimes the do, but usually they dont seem to care. maybe they just assume its a `gaijin` thing!

  • As always, great video, Kevin. Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for watching and enjoying :)

  • I am surprised about the woman. A gaijin with a camera...I would have thought that they might think that you be a celebrity instead.

  • I suppose not too many celebs talk to their Sony Cybershot :)

  • You're a celebrity (on Youtube). You just humbly refuse to accept it.

  • cool video

  • thanks!

  • awesome video!

  • Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it! I'll be posting a lot more very soon since I have a long vacation starting next week. Recorded several yesterday :)

  • Okay there Centigrade-guy. 15C is 59F. I would be out riding my motorcycle is were 59 here. I got it out this past Tuesday and rode it running some errands after work when it got up to 50F (10C) just between 2 and 4 PM.

Anyway, nice video, you looked happy and calm (not that you aren't usually). It looked like a nice time. I would love to take my family to Japan. Hope your hand is OK.

  • hey...I'm Canadian...I'm all about the metric system! hehe

Wow....you'd have some nice motorcycle driving weather if you were here. I'm pretty pleased with how warm Winter is here :)

I hope you get the chance to take your family here sometime. My parents were here last month and absolutely loved it!

  • LOL. The woman was probably all O_O. Imagine if you were doing this in Japanese! I bet she'd drop dead from a heart attack.

  • True that! I probably will a little more once my Japanese skills improve :)

  • Cool! Nice video

    Cheers

  • Glad you liked it! It was a pretty cool experience.

  • hey BK,

what are you doing in Japan anyways? i was always wondering that.

    ` P

  • hey there... I work at an International school as a homeroom teacher. It's a cool job!

  • Wow! :D

  • It was cool to see :)

  • random observation:

in the thumbnail for this one you look a lot like a British singer named Robbie Williams

  • Thanks! I'll take that as a compliment....just wish i had his money and talent ;)

  • "Hey, that's the Canadian who's putting our city up on YouTube!"

    You never know. ;-)

  • Yep....they're not sure if it's a good thing or a bad one!

  • Kevin, Thanks so much for sharing. It's getting cold here in Toronto. It's -14 with the wind chill. I wish I was in Japan. I try to go twice a year. Keep making the great videos!

  • Wow.....yep.....Toronto is really cold! Hope you can get to Japan son.Which part do you travel to?

    Kev

  • I spend most of my time in Tokyo. I don't think I could ever be bored there. I've also been to places close like: Yokahama, Hakone and Kamakura.

My next visit will be Tokyo again with a few days in Osaka and Kyoto. I'd really like to get to Kobe sometime too.

  • I love the Japanese confusion in regards to how to deal with cold weather. I November & December you see the big jackets come out, then in February the girls are wearing big boots with mini-skirts. (Not that I don't like to look...)

  • Yep....the concept of temperature control is lost here.............let's sweat all summer and freeze all winter....even though we don't have to!(at least indoors)

  • Wow that looks great! Thanks for cameramaning it (yes yes that's not a word I know, but we do what we must)

  • Thanks a lot....but I did get a "cameramaning" related-coffee injury! Injuries like that are necessary from time to time to keep YouTube happy :)

  • those chicks sub to your vids man! your famous!

    ...cool vid btw

  • They must! Of course! :)

  • Tabernac, that was one damn good video! Really great lights display. Looking forward to more holiday footage from ya. Always lookin' forward to your new videos.

  • Thanks a lot! I'm just happy that I could say "tabernac"!

  • holy moly i wish i was there that was freaking amazing and another one of your great videos make it to my favorites, i'm a freak a zoid for japanese culture and language. this is inspirational.

  • Cool. Glad you were into it and glad you added it to your favorites. Japan is a cool country for sure!

  • I've been to the Luminare a few times, but as pretty as it is, that's enough for me. Bah humbug! Muhahaha.

    :-p

But I did enjoy your vid, as usual sir!

  • are you watching this on your iPhone??? i thought you were on the train to Kobe now? :)

  • that is cool man

  • Cheers:)

  • That was pretty sweet. I loved the part when some woman was getting freaked out when you were talking to the camera! Freaking people out always fun my life!

  • Yeah....she just walked past and got startled and stared. Speaking to a camera in English will definitely freak out a few folks in Japan! :)

  • Wow that was beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

  • It was a cool display! Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Wow, how nice! :D

All the light things set up look really detailed! It must have taken forever to make! :)

  • It was pretty nice. You're right, the lights are very detailed....it was cool :)
