If you die, you will witness nothing, all you are made off becomes part of everything else, but you are unaware of nothing, all these rituals that exist, all the religions exist to numb your fear of this nothinghness, of death.
we (Jehovah's witnesses) have been telling people this for decades now! most have decided not to listen thinking we are lying to them, accused of being a cult. (matthew 5:11)
Death. ..the dead are no longer aware of themselves, no longer remember God and unable to register the passage of time at all. The closest word to describe it is sleeping though death is not a sleep. It's like having never known living no more. Like being an inanimate object. The soul is there just no longer a living entity, no longer enjoying life.
Hmm but I often hear about ghosts and in fact in some rare instances 'see' ghosts. What are they? WHY are they not in death? They are not resting?
"For if you have fallen in with some who are called Christians, but who do not admit the Truth of the resurrection and venture to blaspheme the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; who say that there is no resurrection of the dead, and that their souls when they die are taken to heaven: do not imagine that they are Christians"
- Justin Martyr (Dialogue with Trypho, Ch. 80, Anti-Nicene Fathers, Vol. 1, Eerdmans, p. 239)
I think I finally understand, you know that warm feeling you get when you help someone or when you're in love or when you're having a great day? I think that's the light all of these people in history are talking about. I think thats what builds your soul up. I was reading the tablets of thoth and it basically says the more light you have, the better you'll do in death, so only people who do bad will be the ones without light and hav enternal darkness. I feel sad for them...
@Bastet674 Dr. Rick Strassman of the University of New Mexico in the 1990's discovered a hallucinogenic compound released at bodily death called "Dimenthyltryptamine" (DMT). This chemical is often released during high-G experiments in the U.S. Navy. Death is a process as one organ fails after another. It is not a moment in time. The Bible says you will "sleep" when you are dead, and be conscious of nothing when you are dead (Ecclesiastes 9:5).
If these guys are rifgt then this doesnt make a whole lot of sense: Matthew 10:28-- "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
WARNING!!! THESE GUYS ARE FALSE TEACHERS...DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM....DANGEROUS TEACHING...
@Lightbulbify They are not false teachers, your only proving them right with that scripture you just gave. There is no such thing as immortal souls, only Messiah can give eternal life.
@Lightbulbify Then that very statement says that the soul can be destroyed, doesn't it? If the soul is "immortal", how can God destroy it? It's not immortal. God can destroy the body and soul on Judgment Day.
This is what Jesus said to the man on the cross beside him, Luke23:43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."
this is truth... wages of sin is DEATH, not eternal life in hell... Jesus died, then He rose again... and all the saints will be resurected.. God created us as living souls, living creatures, living physical bodies... if God wanted just souls (ghosts) He would have done so from begining... God was always against witches/witchcraft, talking to and bringing back the dead, because God knew it was impossible, cause the dead are dead.. the ghosts u/they may have seen were nothing but devils fooling
These brothers are completely wrong with what they are saying in this video. They state that this physical life is all there is. And I will tell them where the idea of the immortality of the soul originated from; IT IS THE VERY BREATH OF GOD!
people not only the Jehovahs believe this, many Christians from different nominations, the danger is that people dont want to believe this because its from the Jehovah's.,people use the Bible to see if any doctrine is right.but in deed SHEOL, GEHENNA, HADES are translated whit the word Hell in the KJV thats why there is much confusion. we are mortal only God's gift can make us immortal.
For those of you who bash this video, and obviously have no comprehention and understanding, let me explain: The Soul: A fallen mortal. A sinner, one without Messiah, dead in their sins. Only the Messiah gives life, eternal life. Without Him, you do not live forever, you simply go to hell and die, the end. You cease to exist. Is it that hard to understand? please start reading your bibles in Hebrew and Greek, not flawed english. Therefore you do not have an immortal soul, they are right.
OOOOOOOR life ends when we die, no skydaddy, no fluffycloudland, no soul, no eternal torture, no demons, no zombies, no talking snakes, no talking burning bushes, no virgin births, no walking on water, no laws of physics bending for a bearded carpenter.
Isn't it a bit more possible that we won't go anywhere as souls when we die just like all the other 99,9% of all the creatures that ever existed on earth.
but by all means, if you ever become a soul, make sure to call me and tell me about it.
God said to himself lets make men in are own(Trinity) image. meaning The Son, The Father, and The Holy Sprite. We are a tri-being. We grow as a child, to a Father, and when we die we have a soul. God breath/ or blew in man the breath of a soul... It is written don't be ignorant as those who believe in soul sleep. When a body dies it goes to be with the Lord. Jesus Christ is the only person who can give you eternal life.
nephesh chaiyah is the hebrew translation for a living soul or body, and is rendered as Life in Genesis 1 vs 30. It also applies to the animal kingdom, God created both
A Living soul is a living body, in Hebrew its called, Nephesh Chaiyah, A breathing frame, a living body, not an eternal soul. This also refers to the animals, In Genesis 1:30, it is rendered as Life!!
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also that are fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him. .
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;
1Th 4:17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:

I have seen 1000's die, u see a change n the face, what lived leaves, w/a vacant body left behind. n a bad accident I have witnessed the mortal injured soul, different from what was before the accident. it is interesting. Life in a new form goes on
I Pet. 3:18-20 is one of the most misunderstood portions of Peter. Reading carefully in context and in harmony with all other scripture, we see that the person we now know as Jesus served God throughout the history of mankind. One example of this is I Pet.3:18-20, where Jesus, by God's spirit, preached to those who were disobedient at the time of Noah, prior to the flood. Jesus was also the messenger of the covenant, Mal. 3:1, another example of his service to God prior to his earthly birth.
Life is heaven, death is the lake of fire. Do not be deceived!!!!!!!!! Separation from God is death! Did Adam not die (spiritually) when he sinned??
Spiritual death is not physical death! Don't be deceived! Satan is a spirit and he will face the second death.
Rev 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
If there is no conscious awareness after death, how could the "spirits in prison", who lived during "Noah's days", be preached to by Christ after His death (1Pet 3:18-20) and how could the good news be "declared also to the dead" (1 Pet 4:5-6)? If the "spirits in prison" of 1Pet 3:19 refers to demonic angels, instead of the just people who died before the resurrection of Christ, then why would Jesus "preach" to demonic angels?
The gospel was preached to all who are now dead ... Read the Old Testament. All the faithful believed in the Messiah and God Almighty. Even today Jews await for Him, though He was Jesus.
Read 1 Pet 3:18-219 Through the Holy Spirit the gospel was preached to the SPIRITS who disobeyed long ago. Do you recall that the Angels came and mingled and bread with the humans?
Lol, so Clement of Rome was wrong, as was Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp of Smyrna, Mathetes, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Cyprian of Carthage etc. etc.
No, from early christianity, we know that this was a universally accepted belief.
were these so-called church fathers correct about purgatory, also? did they believe man is justified by faith alone? how in the world could they be wrong? what is popular is not right, what is right is not popular. broad is the way to destruction.
Why do you interchange the serpent with "satan" in the explanation about the origins of the idea of the immortal soul from gen ch2.The Bible which you say is your reference for truth, describes the serpent as more "subtle" than any of the beasts of the field, not as satan.I agree with you about the soul and the fact we dont have an immortal soul but i feel you are falling into the same trap you are exposing and that is relying on tradition (re satan)rather than what the bible says.
the body and soul can be destroyed in "hell", which in the original greek is "gehenna" meaning "valley of hinnon" which is a city dump outside Jerusalem. Gehenna in this context is actually refering to the lake of fire in revelation (the fire comes down from heaven) and devours the wicked, satan, and his demons.
This video makes a compelling argument against the doctrine of the "immortal soul." It's crazy how Christians can be shown something in the bible which distinctly goes against their tradition, and tradition somehow always wins out. The scripture says that God ALONE has immortality, but tradition ignores that and says it's a lie, and that ALL mankind has an "immortal soul." Tradition is a powerful thing, more powerful than God's word(Matt 15:6)
Do you think spiritual death is the same as physical death?
Daniel 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.
I love how people push the idea of no soul. All religion aside, even with no evidence, it'd still be something you'd want to believe in. Yet people push it, I think some people really DON'T want a soul.
The bible's been the source, for generations, of belief in an immortal soul, at risk, if not saved, of 'eternally perishing' in hell. What then would there being 'nothing' after death unless 'gifted' eternal life, any fear of hell? If there's no 'gift' then there's nothing after death, also that would mean, no hell either.
The immortal soul is not an evil belief. these guys try to portray it as a privalage to have an immortal soul. Think about it... What privalage is it to have an immortal soul if it is condemmed to eternal damnation? In that case, would it not be better to NOT have an immortal soul? So please, stop using this argument that satan used this tactic to trick eve.
the wages of sin is death...not eternal suffering. Proverbs says it is an abomination to bear a false witness against someone (so does the law) but satan has God's own bride bearing a false witness against God that he doesn't give us free choice because we suffer eternally if we say no!(Aligning his character with saddam hussein; hitler and idi amin) SHAME ON YOU who preach such things
Pathetic...If you deny the existance of your soul.....You have a very bad out look on life. Also, if there is no soul, then how come everyone is COMPLETELY unique in who they are? Their personalities? Their truest heart desires?? Their conciences?? This is simply bogus. There is something besides the physical world....Please people, get over it.
People don't have souls because they ARE souls, duh!!! and souls die and have to resurrected by Jesus when he comes because HE is LIFE!!! WE ARE NOT GODS!!!!!! *sigh* why do people make things so complicated?
The Bible teaches that there is a soul and that there is an eternity. the Bible does not teach that once you are dead that is it. There are 2 places that your soul can go to Heaven or Hell. But theses 2 places are very real and no myth.
You believe what you want to believe, when you get turned away from Heaven and cast into the Lake of fire, then you will find out that these 2 places are no myth, the Apostle Paul saw into Heaven, but he wasn't allowed to write about it,he wanted to depart and be with Christ which is far better,i urge you to repent of your sins before it is too late and come to the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will know true peace in your life.
I don't take anything a man says,i look to the word of God,the Bible says the SOUL that sinneth it shall die,and God breathed into Adam and made him a living SOUL.Also the Bible says about Jesus' soul not being left in Hell-thou shalt not leave my soul in Hell, nor suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. The Bible says it is better to put trust in the Lord that confidence in man.
AwaitingJesus:The bible is not a reliable history book, written by camel herders 2.000 years ago.Read "One thousand and One Night" You can find something uplifting there too, if you pick and choose.Peace !!
The Bible was written over 200 years, and strangely enough there are no contradictions it it,don't you think that is amazing?Written by about 40 different authors and there is not one contradiction to be found. The Bible is the only, true word of God.
You can't possibly be reading the King James Bible then. This book has no errors, people have spent their whole lives trying to prove the book wrong,i don't know why you can't just accept it and inherit the free gift of eternal life, and go to the place that God has prepared for you in Heaven, because at the moment you are on the way to a lost eternity without the Lord Jesus Christ.
You are obviously not willing to see the truth,i'm not going to waste time debating with you when i could be giving the gospel to other people who might get saved,it was nice chatting with you.
Actually, the KJV has SEVERAL errors. It's only the original hebrew/greek scriptures that are error-free. King James translators erroneoulsy translated the hebrew word SHEOL, the Greek words GEHENNA, HADES and TARTARUS-NONE of these words meaning a place of eternal torment-into the english word "hell". Also, the original scriptures speak NOTHING of "eternity." Taht's another erroneous tranlation of the word AION, which means an indefinite amount of time
@RUABerean ::: Scriptures are error-free??? Bart Ehrman wrote a 280 page book about contradictions and errors in the bible, and those pages are not blank. 1 Samuel 28:15 is conclusive that we live on. Those who have NDEs testify that we live on. So do the psychics who contact the 'dead'.
@RUABerean Not to mention the KJV's translation of the Greek word "pascha" (passover) in Acts 12:4 as "Easter", which was not introduced to the Christian church until around 250 C.E., long after Acts was written.
@RUABerean So you have read the original hebrew and greek you are very old. The original hebrew hasn't been around for atleast 1000 yrs before Christ. The original greek hasn't been around for 1800 yrs.
Sweetie, we need to stop reading our bible in english, and start reading it in the languges it was written in. You cannot possibly look at the english word soul, and say that's what it is.
Nonsense. Biblical Scripture assumes the existence of the immortal soul in Genesis 25:17, 1 Samuel 28:5-20, Matthew 17:1-5, Luke 16:19-31, Luke 23:32-43, 1 Peter 3:18-19, 2 Corinthians 5:6-8, 2 Corinthians 12:2-4, Revelation 6:9-10, Revelation 20:4-5, and many other places. In fact, man faces judgment *immediately after death* (Hebrews 9:27).
If man has an immortal soul, why does the Bible says that only God has immortality in 1 Timothy 6? Isn't that a contradiction? Although none of your verses show that there is an immortal soul, you should know that Moses and Elias don't show an immortal soul. Elias didn't die, but was taken to heaven directly; Moses was resurrected by Jesus. (See Jude.) If you don't know that much about your Bible, should you just be listing verses like that?
The same word is used in 1 Corinthians 15:53-54 as a description of physical incorruptability or deathlessness, not a description of the soul's perpetual existence. In other words, only God is "immortal" in the sense that he is eternally uncorruptable or untouchable by sin, death, or any other such imperfection, a privilege which he indefinitely extends to those who are clothed in Christ Jesus (ref. Galatians 3:27).
And Hebrews 9:27 doesn't say immediately; it says, "And as it is appointed unto men to die, but after this the judgment." I can't find any translation that uses "immediately." After could be eons later or the next second. This doesn't show immortality of the soul either.
A straightforward literal interpretation of Hebrews 9:27 places judgment immediately after physical death. However, to avoid this point, you go beyond the text and semantically insert extra-Biblical assumptions into Hebrews 9:27.
If you die, you will witness nothing, all you are made off becomes part of everything else, but you are unaware of nothing, all these rituals that exist, all the religions exist to numb your fear of this nothinghness, of death.

David999999 4 years ago

So please, stop using this argument that satan used this tactic to trick eve.
refinersfire88 4 years ago
the wages of sin is death...not eternal suffering.
Eternal life is a gift .. not given 2 unbelievers

AwaitingJesus 4 years ago
Awaitingjesus:Those two places are the greatest myth on earth.

Philos2006 4 years ago
You believe what you want to believe, when you get turned away from Heaven and cast into the Lake of fire, then you will find out that these 2 places are no myth, the Apostle Paul saw into Heaven, but he wasn't allowed to write about it,he wanted to depart and be with Christ which is far better,i urge you to repent of your sins before it is too late and come to the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will know true peace in your life.

No soul= no heaven or hell. Peace !!

Also, the original scriptures speak NOTHING of "eternity." Taht's another erroneous tranlation of the word AION, which means an indefinite amount of time
RUABerean 4 years ago 12
@RUABerean ::: Scriptures are error-free??? Bart Ehrman wrote a 280 page book about contradictions and errors in the bible, and those pages are not blank. 1 Samuel 28:15 is conclusive that we live on. Those who have NDEs testify that we live on. So do the psychics who contact the 'dead'.
k0smon 7 months ago
@RUABerean Not to mention the KJV's translation of the Greek word "pascha" (passover) in Acts 12:4 as "Easter", which was not introduced to the Christian church until around 250 C.E., long after Acts was written.
DrZanderPhD 7 months ago
@RUABerean So you have read the original hebrew and greek you are very old. The original hebrew hasn't been around for atleast 1000 yrs before Christ. The original greek hasn't been around for 1800 yrs.

Sweetie, we need to stop reading our bible in english, and start reading it in the languges it was written in. You cannot possibly look at the english word soul, and say that's what it is.

Nowhere does Biblical Scripture equate the terms "eternal life" and "soul," as if salvation gives you an immortal soul.
eahaddix 5 years ago
In fact, man faces judgment *immediately after death* (Hebrews 9:27).
eahaddix 5 years ago
If man has an immortal soul, why does the Bible says that only God has immortality in 1 Timothy 6? Isn't that a contradiction? Although none of your verses show that there is an immortal soul, you should know that Moses and Elias don't show an immortal soul. Elias didn't die, but was taken to heaven directly; Moses was resurrected by Jesus. (See Jude.) If you don't know that much about your Bible, should you just be listing verses like that?
angelsvn 4 years ago
So, angelsvn, my Scriptural references prove nothing "because you say so"?
Nonsense. Let us start with Genesis 25:17.
Genesis 25:17 [NIV]
Altogether, Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people.
Now, how can Ishmael be gathered to his people after his physical death, if his soul ceases to exist until a New Testament resurrection?
eahaddix 4 years ago
Now, angelsvn, what does 1 Timothy 6:16 mean by the word "immortality" or athanasia?
eahaddix 4 years ago
The same word is used in 1 Corinthians 15:53-54 as a description of physical incorruptability or deathlessness, not a description of the soul's perpetual existence. In other words, only God is "immortal" in the sense that he is eternally uncorruptable or untouchable by sin, death, or any other such imperfection, a privilege which he indefinitely extends to those who are clothed in Christ Jesus (ref. Galatians 3:27).
eahaddix 4 years ago
And Hebrews 9:27 doesn't say immediately; it says, "And as it is appointed unto men to die, but after this the judgment." I can't find any translation that uses "immediately." After could be eons later or the next second. This doesn't show immortality of the soul either.
angelsvn 4 years ago 2
This is the point, angelsvn.
A straightforward literal interpretation of Hebrews 9:27 places judgment immediately after physical death. However, to avoid this point, you go beyond the text and semantically insert extra-Biblical assumptions into Hebrews 9:27.
