I'm having a problem, I've connected the screen and the playstation to each other properly with the old fashioned red-white-yellow cables, and also both to the electric socket. Yet when I turn on the ps3 and the tv the screen remains blue when i cycle through video 1, 2 and 3 and DVD. Earlier it used to show up on video 1. I've even bought new red-white-yellow cables, and it still isn't working! Help, please!

i have the ps3 slim and i am trying to hook it up to my sd tv. I use the cables that came with it and I hook it to the tv with the corresponding av cables and then use the cable to connect it to the power source which is an outlet. Then i use the same setings on the tv as the wii since they are hooked up the same but the screen is still black. any pointers???

@tyxoo you need to plus the colors in the right places.. red to red hole, white to white hole, yellow to yellow hole....might also be loose in the back of the ps3, maybe need to change to video... need to check the tv for that. not really specific with you problem so idk.

@tyxoo out of curiosity I called in a 29-inch TV with these cables yellow + white + red (which would be the worst possible connection and the picture was very good) much better than the ps2 - does not compare.

can put that in to play the good.

IMPORTANT: If the game was already connected by HDMI cable, when connecting cables to the normal need to hold the POWER button for a few seconds to reset the configuration and reconfigure it to output to the output at a lower resolution.

Yes its this easy. first plug your cables in. then turn it on, if no picture turn i off and then on and hold the button until it beeps again

yes just plug them in and change to the video it is on and you will have your ps3 running on SD. My suggestion is to get HD cables to run ps3 in HD but that is up to you.

@NoahAndrewnMichael Ok you can connect those cables to the HDTV but you will be running the ps3 on SD quality. For connecting to an HDTV and to make the ps3 run in HD you need to buy Component cables (thats what the other colors you see are for) or an HDMI cable.

@dvdlogitech If its an old tv you need to find a composite to coaxil cable converter to make this work. Some older tv's don't have composite plugins

@TheSylux1 Ok the cables i showed are ps2 white, yellow, and red cables on a ps3 for standard tv's. The ps3 usually comes with its own but the ps2 one works but on a ps3 slim idk if it works. I never really studied the ps3 slim. This will also work on a flat screen HDTV but it will not be running in HD but it will only run in 480i.

@adisor906 It is ok if you have white and yellow. Red is just an extra audio so you are ok and yes a ps2 cord will work on a ps3 but not the power supply that is used by a computer power cable.

@kanefan4eva3 with the coax you need to put it in the channel the box is set for like either ch. 3 or 4. with composite cables it is easier
