  • All the AJFA songs sound soooo much fuller and complete with the bass turned up!

  • This isn't Newstead playing anyway.

  • @av3nger3 I agree, its Newsted.

  • @av3nger3 Newsted played on Justice just James and Lars removed his bass from the final mix. I heard James even admitting it.

  • Sounds even more unreal with the bass.

  • @av3nger3 yo mean it sounds more like ONE with the bass ;)

  • WTF!!!!!!! this thing is amazing, finally I know what to listen to my friends to convince them to form a band with 2 bass !!!!!!

  • at 3:13 i paused the video... then i realized that the scenes from johnny got his gun were missing :D

  • wow nice, how do you add the bass?

  • lokire made a song thats already goood into something that is epic.

  • James screaming like a soldier at the start is epic xD Could never hear it in the original as clear as here.

  • @PenalizedMetal What i want to know is what are the girls singing ?

  • Just imagine Cliff Burton playing this <3

  • @ChristiannGuitarDude It'd probably be more intricate and complex

  • awesome ...

could you repost it though? there's a tiny uploading problem at 1.36 - 1.37 sec

the justice album should have beenthat way from the beginning

    \m/

  • Successful troll is successful

  • @LuchoMazzeo yep lars dosent realise that drums are a rhythm instrument he feels the need to stick in shit where its not needed

  • would of been better if you didnt fuck up the bass

  • Listen to my version of "One" with the added bass( played by myself of course).

The mix I made so that the bass be discreet in the music, so you can feel the bass more then hear it(just like all the other metallica albuns lol )

  • This song would sound better without the pick in my opinion... Not that it matters much sense Metallica decided to go with the stupid tune-down-the-bass idea.

  • Loved the bass in the first half of the song, but the heavier second half it was a bit much, drowned out the guitars.. still awesome version

  • Should I be concerned that hearing the bass for the first time is starting to give me an erection?

  • It reminds me of Primus.

  • I can obviously tell that this isn't Jason playing because this is a bass cover.

  • @NejiHyuga900

Yeah...that's what I was saying...the bass track is different if you listen to Metallica - One - Bass Only.

  • Skips at 1:37 O.o

The bass is a little too loud, but still sounds pretty cool.

  • bass could be any thing it could be a beast on any thing and no one would understand that its difficult only after playing , and i don't know why people would still say its an easy and useless instrument... BASS FTW

  • @AxozOfDeth

Yeah people, especially guitarists, tend to be idiots about bass playing. Or they just want to make themselves feel better about being guitarists, so they say bass is easy.

  • @Scarecrow545

i've been playing guitar for 8 years now and bass is F*@#*&NG easy, sorry.

  • @b4zii12

Guess you're not very good at bass playing then.

  • @Scarecrow545 That doesnt even make any common sense.

  • @b4zii12

    NO U

  • @b4zii12 Bass is an entire world compared to the Guitar. As a guitar player, even I know this.

  • Bass is just like salt... we may not notice it on some of our food, but without it, the food gets tasteless.

  • Cliff and Jason: the reason i staredt to play bass

  • lo mejor de todos los tiempos no habra nada igual son unos monstruos y siempre sera asi.....

  • la version con bajo se escucha mejor

  • i will push a walrus out of an airplane while riding it, shooting eagles out of the sky with a fucking tank, with a parachute full of knifes T.N.T. and C4, with a tank falling behind the walrus and i who i named Abraham Lincoln who is wearing a wizard hat casting flair and blinding the eagles so i can shoot them easier grabbing the feathers so i can make a suit out of them. Abraham Lincoln pulls the cord on the parachute and we land safely on the ground where i punch babies in the face

  • @StAnarkyh That made no sense, but life now has a meaning. Thank you.

  • This is not the original bass track... but it sounds nice

  • i never realized how much the bass impacted this song

  • the heavy part sounds even better with the bass.

  • id almost say the bass is too loud in this version. i would like to hear more in the studio album but it shouldnt be overdone just to make up for the lack.

  • Did you play the bass?

  • So much diffrent from the real album version. I actually can hear the bass now ;) so wierd but nice!

  • jajaja , yes !!

  • to be fair the bass sounds pretty sloppy on this track plus it's emphasized way too much by the author

  • lool, they pwnd the bass ever since cliff burton died, idk if they did it for respect to cliff or just to p/ss off jason xD, lol, how would this sound if it were played by primus, think MOP for instance

  • Respect for Cliff? I wouldn't call turning down his favourite instrument so it was almost silent respecting him.

  • I thought bass was turned down because hazing.

  • I was replying to renaissancebug

  • well, i'm not exactly pro-turnthebassallthewaydown, but just saying its not easy when one of your brothers passes away and a newcomer just expects to 'fill in' for him just like that. yet again, doing so was kindda childish to my point of view, 'nyways song sounds richer with the 'added' bass

  • i like this song with bass, cause it actually gives off a bass sound. the other songs like blackened and justice with bass just sounds like an extra downtuned guitar was added

  • Finally...with bass...

  • omg they deleed it noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I really hate what they did to the bass on this album, the main melody is absolutely beautiful with the bass turned up.

  • the added bass line in the intro adds a darker feel to the song

  • You all have no appreciation for good bass playing. The bass adds a whole new level of sadness to the main melody of the verses. I love this version.

  • i agree totally whit u it sounds so kool, this version is the best! the bass make it more emotive

  • @bobsmash213 It sounds so good, I just added it to my playlist!!!!!! This is how metallica was meant to be heard!!

  • @bobsmash213 bass kicks ass man its that hidden nessesaty to any song

  • @bobsmash213 except the little skipping bit

  • One was perfect exactly the way it was written, and throwing in the bass just makes it sound a little awkward...just sayin

  • omfg "the way it was wriiten" u just dont get it do you POSER go play ur video games.

  • Technically, this is the way it was written, just with the bass turned way down.

  • It's definately more happening with the bass higher in the mix. Bit of a dodgy tone but still fairly cool. Good job.

  • okay... its very well done, but One is not a song that could sound good with much base in my ears.

  • Hey, I wonder if you could download this version anywhere

  • At 2:54 the Bass Guitar plays a bad note...

  • lol i noticed that too

  • great! i wish that tallica did this when they produced this

  • i dont get whats up with the pic and why it looks like that

    like why does it change????

  • doesn't mix well with it all, sounds like the old mix just thrown in with bass.

  • sounds shit with bass, blackened sounds good though

  • trujillo sorry.

  • imho

  • Robert rujille is IMHO the best Metallica bassist. Yes, I said it, even better than Cliff Burton.

  • Put the flame shield up... You're about to get some abuse...

Though I don't agree with you anyways. :P

  • Hahaha...umm...dude...Be ready for eternal hell...haha...every1 is going to critize you....And i think Cliff is better than Robert. But Robert is good to hehe xD

  • Well if u want my opinion i think lars tuned down jason because (as always) he wanted his drums to sound clearer and louder. Sounds far more logical to me!..

  • It's funny because he said that when it came to making the black album, he chose Bob because he felt the Justice album lacked impact in terms of bass and drums in comparison to Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood.

  • This song sounds much better with that haunting bass line - props for making this.

  • Robert Trujillo is not a bad bass player, but this count also for Jason.I don't know if ever heard the album Doomsday for the Deceiver from the band Flotsam & Jetsam with Jason. This first album is even better than Kill'em All.

All three bass players of Metallica had different styles with their own quality.

  • i dont know you guys but i really prefer robert trujillo, perhaps because que uses the fingers and that isnt easy for heavy metal. but none of then cuold replace cliff.

  • you look at an album like Kill Em All and you say that album has respect for the bass and then you look at this album and you say no respect for the bass

  • i like the original way better, this is TOO much bass, guitar can barely be heard imo

  • dude this is not supposed to be a rerecording this is just to show how the bass sounds in this song.

  • I dont understand how metallica look down on jason!

the bass in this song is simply magical!

its really provocking how he was mistreated.

Cliff was a god and Jason was a real metal head and a loyal and classy bass player for metallica....metallica's weak point is keeping a great bass player ;)

  • james tuned down jason bass so people could get use to jason, its hard to fill the loss of cliff bass playing, i cant remember everything from the documtary, but you find if you search it here on tube:)

  • oh this is fuckin great :)

  • 5:10-5:19 sounds awesome

  • wow so much better now that we can actually hear his bass playing. why would they make the bass track volume so low for! !!??

  • because who cares about Jason Newstead?

  • Jason is fucking pimp. Not as pimp as Cliff but who is

  • In the realm of Metallica, no one. In the realm of metal bassists, you'd have to point him out to me. In the realm of Metal in general, probably Chuck Schuldiner.

  • when trujillo joined the band, fans was like jason was much cooler, and better, and the same was it for jason when he joined the band, they tuned down the bass so people couldnt give him bad critisme for his bass playing compared with cliff, its better that people give critism for his down tuned bass then his bass playing:P i hope you anystand, my write very bad english:D

  • u can nevr have enuff bass can u yew =]

  • how do you add bass to the song? do u have to buy a bass upper thing

  • some people do it with computer programs and must have recorded it with their own bass playing ( mostly fans )

  • the bass makes this song more badass...and would have made ...AJFA that much better of an album

  • On the Darkness-riff Jasons bass sound awesome, he was actually a good bass player. Really a shame that Metallica wasn't so happy with Jason that you can think he wasn't a good player or had did something to Cliff. Come on, Cliff is a bass legend. But Jason is good too. They were good at their points.

  • of course he was...i loved metallica's time with jason...he was so awsome...shame for metallica

  • shame ON metallica

  • james and lars were retarded

they were willing to fuck up a really good album just to shit on jason

that guys an awesome bassist...i hope they realized what they lost..

its not like jason had anything to do with cliff...so that whole 'we were just letting our anger out on him' is no excuse

he was a replacement...james just didnt want anyone to know jason was as good as cliff i guess

  • He isn't as good as Cliff. Cliff was a better musician. I agree tho, this album would be that much better if you could hear the bass. Oddly enough, the only song I can really hear the bass on is the Cliff tribute song To Live is to Die.

  • Dude let me tell you. There will always be 1 cliff burton 1 david ellefson 1 steve harris. so it is unfair to say Jason wasn't as good as Cliff. Cliff was better of course but his talents will never be repeated

  • Cliff was a legend, as i said before. But Jason wasn't bad. Actually, he was very good. They missed a good bassplayer when Jason left, and Jason said he was so tired after all the Metallica-years and he said that he never felt like a real Metallica-member

    Shame for Metallica for that!

  • besides the who is a better muscian debate....Jason had energy on stage that no one could measure up!!!!!

he added the wildness to metallica.

True shame on them...although I love them :/

  • I can see why they felt awkward about making jason too prominent on AJFA when they made it, but when he still felt like 'the new boy' after being in the band for 15 years, that was pretty shameful

  • i feel so sorry for jason newsted cuz he left metallica and joined some posers!!,,

    Respect for metallica

  • @catfart666 Unfortunately jason isn't as good as cliff..

    Talent:

    1- Cliff Burton

    2- Robert Trujillo

    3- Jason Newsted

    Performance:

    1- Jason Newsted

    2- Cliff Burton

    3- Robert Trujillo

  • @Metayounis

    DISAGREE TOTALLY!!!

    Cliff>Robert>Jason on performance as well.

  • @srsfiter Jason had the most charisma, best backing vocals, and he is a great bass player. For me Cliff> Jason > Rob.

  • Just listen Metallica live or Flotsam and Jetsam and you'll get it that Jason is actually a great musician.

  • 1:56 is scary but awesome!

  • what?

  • does anyone know where I can get the album of 'and justice for all'that includes the added bass. I've searched Google and torrents etc but I've no luck. I would be grateful if anyone could help. Many Thanks and peace

    Scud02

  • WOW

i thought the bass was a little heavy when it goes darkness

but it fits kirk's solo so nicely

  • yea they said they took at their anger and sadness of jason. treated him like shit

  • Jason got fucked by the rest of Metallica and none of his musical ideas were taken seriously... They also tuned down his bass on this album to haze him even more. Stupid fucks. Don't get me wrong, Lars & James are really good songwriters but at this point they were real idiots.

  • Jason is a really good pick bassist and noone really gave him ALL the credit he deserved cause of James and lars hazing him. If you listen to some songs live, they sound a hell of a lot better.

  • it skips at 1:37 can you re-do it

  • lolz! now the bass overpowers the song. Well, I liked it during the first half of the song (kinda gave the song a whole new, and overall better, feel than the original) but then for the last two minutes it seemed to overpower it.

  • bass can never be too much :)

  • ...And Justice For Jason

  • ...And Jason For All

  • i like it this way alot better

  • Better than the original.

  • This is actually not bad, pretty true to the original. If you do this song on Guitar Hero without actually playing, you can hear the bass in the background and this sounds almost exactly like it.

  • the bass sounds tight

  • freakin awesome. i have to admit the bass sounds out of place on this song but it makes it even better

  • i love this song

  • where can i download this?

  • he means the added bass song people

  • The bass is why AJFA isn't as good as Master Of Puppets. If it always had a bass like this, Justice and Puppets would have been neck to neck as Metallica's best albums.

  • a little less funk and slap

and this song would be perfect

  • AJFA has always been my favourite Metallica album, a flawed masterpiece. It definately is better than MOP with added bass. Although the bass on this a little bit too loud.

  • don't know why Metallica didn't have it like this in the first place

  • they just felt they had to haze Jason, like some dumb jocks.

  • because the bass sounded to much like the rythm so they had to take it down or else you wouldnt have heard were the rythm starts and the bass starts

  • ahhh i c now

  • I wanna put this on my ipod

  • 100x better!

  • anyone who thinks jason wasnt an "addition"....stfu. jason was a fuckin great bassist.

  • my fav one too i really liked this lineup from AJFA

  • any1 no where i can find the remastered version of ..and justice for all that is entitled "...And Justice For JASON" thanks to any one who responds

  • thats not bad with it like that actually. i like it kinda better. its not like totally thin high guitar lines

  • These enhanced bass songs really are better. It adds a lot more meat. Honestly if the original songs were like this it might have been my favorite album of their's.

  • this is "one" of the maybe two songs on AJFA where you can here the bass without it being enhanced.

  • Still, barely.

  • lol, i c wut u did there

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

    5 haerts is a good rate =)

  • This version is so much better/heavier than the usuall version. Tha bass playing is just awesome and its add a lot 2 the song.

2 not take this version 2 the album var just a big mistake!

Just love the part thats start 1:52, its freaking beautiful bass playing there =)

  • Does anyone know where you can download Lokire's entire remake?

  • i dont get these how r they like adding bass r they just like playing the bass part themselves like......??

  • Metallica is so stupid. "Yeah, we don't like our new band member. Let's make the quality of our next album suffer." Fucking idiots.

  • fuck you!!!

  • Wow. That was an impressive comment. We're all smarter for having read that drizzt. Thank you for that interesting comment.

  • thats not it playfreebirdnow.

he even agreed.. it was only fair to cliff himself because he had very loud bass.. they didnt want the bass to interphere with the tempo.

  • omg i think i actually heard some bass there not much though. im not good at hearing bass

  • haha always look for the lower lower octave of a riff or some interesting lower rhythm rumbling haha

  • hmm that works unless your listening to death metal because then its all lower lower octave of a riff or some interesting lower rhythm rumbling. but thats works with metallica no doubt

  • exactly bro

  • this "bass" sounds more like a guitar played through a bass-simulator (effect). I might be wrong though.

  • it sounds good but when you have heard the original one so many times this is something different to you therefore its not the real stuff

  • were download this song????

with added bas?? o.o ... please!!

  • Google search "And Justice For Jason". You can find it on Demonoid and other sites if you use torrents. If not, you can find it on megaupload and rapidshare.

  • this isn't jason.... Its some guy playing bass over the track

  • Jason's bass wasn't completely mixed out of the album as a lot of people have said on various videos-if you listen closely you can hear it.Granted that it is turned WAY down but listen to the original version of One closely then listen to this One,then you will see...or hear even. This only confirms that what you hear is bass.

  • true, if we try relly hard we can ear the bass but its way better with loud bass

  • what the.. is this really the original bass playing by jason? litsen to 5.13.. he makes a mistake! a goddamn mistake!
