  • Lol I would hate to be on the business end of that propeller

  • hahahah! one of the few funny things iv ever seen on youtube

  • that is odd... it worked :)

  • About as loud as an ultralight, that's its drawback. Cool though. I'm guessing the engines spinning about 5000 to 6000 rpm (hard to really say), but its operating within limits. I always listen to the exhaust of any engine, each one singin' their song.

  • If you think like others and are a typical clone (basically a human with no ability to think for yourself) then you will be offended by this video. If you are not a clone, not wrapped up in safety issues, and enjoy the freedom to think and decide for yourself, then you will really enjoy innovation, invention, and the creative human mind.

  • thats how we are going to get to mars

  • @erinlassley

I totally agree with you! "highmountain0" need's to shut his pie hole, I bet he is just jealous because he can't do this. Anyway you should like totally put some wing's on it. That would be pretty dang cool just flying around at that place you're at.

  • That's hilarious. And it works! How well it works (efficiency) is a separate question. And, it's just a teensie bit doubtful it would pass UL safety standards :)

Regardless, I seriously doubt the intent here is a marketable product. It's just an interesting and fun gadget project, and on that level, it's a success (as are other propeller driven bicycles seen on YouTube). For an efficient motorized bicycle, power would be delivered to the wheel, as with all motorized bicycles on the market.

  • @highmountain0 If you get close enough to the propeller to get injured, it's you fault for being close to it. These days, common sense is hard to find...

  • pretty cool lol. made 1 with a chainsaw motor, and it goes 45 ;)

  • *Not for long-haired people.

  • This is awesome.

  • Tape some styrofoam wings and you'll be soaring like an eagle in no time! Just kidding. I like the invention, though. I wasn't expecting it to propel you.

  • Do a wellie cut the grass lol

  • @highmountain0 Only thing worst than a communist is someone who is brainwashed by a communist.

  • Absoloutely fantastic, this has inspired me to build my own one now, following the demise of my motorised bath. I will upload a vid when its done.

  • there are easier ways to get around and be killed, London underground late at night for example

  • @highmountain0 If proper precautions are taken, this is a very safe setup. Its probably less dangerous than flying a gas powered RC and also, if someone whats to put their own life at risk for whatever reason, I believe that they have the right to do so. The only people who would get hurt by this are idiots like you.

  • aT LEAST GET A HELMET

  • why not strap the motor to the wheel. you'll go faster!

  • what if you lean back too far and hit the blade

  • Dont lead back, you will cut your head off

  • Some body like your pants being wet.Probably should of put a cage around the propeller.

  • make it so it rotates down and you have a nice lawnmower

  • You could use a bigger engine & prop, also some kind of guard for the prop. I'm also curious about how a small jet engine would work.

  • Quite a racket. Lol

  • dont lean back....

  • I cant believe how safe this is!

  • Man put that prop in a cage please!!!!!!

  • how do you find out the optimal propeller diameter?

  • Inefficient, dangerous, but insanely cool to build and ride

  • blade needs more pitch..hmm that prop looks good for scrambling eggs..or.. your brains needs a prop guard and more pitch.

  • unusable in around public place, very low efficiency ,, not a whole lot of use for this contraption,, fun though....

  • @n4120p Propeller max efficiency can be 90 precents. Tipicaly max good propeller efficienty is 80-85 precents. In this video need bigger propeller with lower rpm if his want more thrust, but less speed. Because propeller have about 80 km/h speed, but not have enought thrust and bike not run at 80 km/h speed.

  • well that would for sure kill you...

  • don't lean back!!!

  • I with bicycle who wheight about 35 kg (include 12 V 45 Ah battery). My wheight about 50 kg. Brushless motor 250 gram. 13x4 APC propeller. 26 ampers curent run on flat 5-10 km/h. But propeller eficienty max is about on 30 km/h. So it more easy pedal on flat at 30 km/h than on tipical bicycle.

  • that is amazing that u could put that together. respect

  • i hope he has life insurance, cuz he about to pay a deductable!

  • @LivinThatHighLife it would look twice as epic

  • I did this as a 12yr old!

Attached a diesel "Frog 249" model a/c engine to the carrier of my bicycle. It had an 11" dia 4" pitch prop. It managed about 5mph. No silencer.

    .

I bet the neighbours hated me.

  • wow if u fell or something i think youd be dead

  • if u lent back to much ul lose your back and thats hella loud

  • that engine can handle a much bigger propeller! get a big prop. and you will flyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

but stil is very good thinking i would never thnk about something like that!

  • @06mourag I thin this propeller in video eficienty max is then speed about 50 km/h. So I recomendate use not biger propeller, but propeller with more blades, same size and smallest pitch off propeller. Or if need speed, but not thrust at small speed, then this mane can pedal at 50 km/h speed.

  • OMG my back hurts
