Can you rub a balloon in your hair and make it stick on the wall? Any way that's not so much. My friend has a radio that plays on his teeth fillings when he goes near a radio station.
I think I probably could have! The conditions in the flat changed somehow and it stopped happening so often but it was ridiculous when the static was high there!

A bra? Yes it could be my bra. I have often worn a bra though (most of the time in fact) and only intermittently have I had these static episodes. Sorry I missed your gig, BTW - I had one of my own at the time.
Yes, we tend to clash - it is the nature of the business. Come to the Camden Head on Feb 8th, we'll be doing the whole spectacle all over again supporting Simon Munnery. When are you next on?
My next gig is February 7 - because I forgot to sort myself out before Christmas and arrange stuff. Only got this one because I was offered it by text. It's in Holloway, but I am not sure where (Peter Tennant's gig).
My hair was like that the other day when I went to Tesco to do the shopping. Only I didn't realise it was like that until I got back home and looked in the mirror...
Seemed ok after I washed it. I think it was the wooly hat I wore on the way there and back. Now my head is getting cold, because I'm scared to go anywhere with that hat on in case my hair stands on end when I take it off.
Search google for "electric humans!" Try the experiment on that website: repeatedly touching the pins on a fluorescent tube (and connect the pins on the other end to 'ground')
Having watched your videos, I wouldn't have guessed you were having enough fun to end up in a hot place. By the way, I have had similar electrical experiences with street lights, they occasionally turn off in my presence, sometimes more than one at a time. Not as interesting as your channel surfing experience though.
actually you know what i learned today? if you take a dryer sheet and use it on your hair as you would a brush, it will take the static out of your hair. i kid you not.
this is obviously the terrible consequences of using fair lights , all that excess electricity has got to go somewhere. You need to get some of those trailing earthy things that you get on the back of cars to stiop travel sickness, one on each leg should sort the problem
It's probably a secret government project.

@jeanmachine2 I think it was a lot to do with the atmosphere in the flat too. All the holes in my roof probably did not help.

Your hair is a lot more likely to go like that on days when it's cold and dry. As for the lights thing - have you ever been struck by lightning?

I don't think so - but I have always been a bit sensitive to static!

Dear Marysia, please read the other comments before posting.

The freezing weather probably, it reduces the moisture in the air which makes things more static.
marysiak 5 years ago
Not to get too personal, but are you wearing an underwired undergarment of some kind? That might explain it.

Thanks - and I have been electric for years for some reason. Got several sparks from metal railings today. Hope you don't get too shocked at work!

apparently if your constantly walking back an fourth on carpet, it stores static electricity up in your body. Have you been paceing?

Hey Elise!
Nice video. You should make a video tribute to your subscribers, showing clips of their movies in your movies, OR do some movie reviews.

Still never getting any confirmation I have comments or emails or meassages. It's annoying not knowing when people want to contact me!

Maybe I'll give it a go. Will pass the time anyway - and may save me on electricity bills if I can really get it going.

It's your electric personality. That has to be it.

May I suggest boiling some water in a pot or kettle for an unspecified period of time?
jwca 5 years ago
Like forever? That might cost a lot!
Eliseharris 5 years ago
Not an eternity Elise, just ten or fifteen minutes. Eternal heat would probably require damnation.
jwca 5 years ago
That sounds more manageable!
Eliseharris 5 years ago
The time or the damnation?
jwca 5 years ago
Ach, I am probably already going to get eternal damnation - but I can boil a kettle for a few minutes anyway.
