@fenriz218, they're helping bring the spotlight to other doctors' work. Also, one has to be willingly obtuse to believe that the mainstream medical community would never be wrong. A few decades ago if a celebrity were telling people that there are actually studies that show that cigarettes are in fact bad for pregnant women, I have a feeling you'd call them names as well.
Every truth we take for granted today was at first violently opposed by the mainstream.
@Crazylaowai, yup. And there are even much more recent examples. For years we were told that all the soldiers suffering from "Gulf War Syndrome" were just imagining things and that their fathering kids with birth defects was just a coincidence. And because mainstream authority said it, the public believed it. Now we realize that exposure to depleted uranium is actually (big shocker) not the most healthy thing in the world.
Also, to those who think these people are "brainwashing" other people--
People have enough brains to think on their own. Its a difference of opinion. If they choose anti-vaccine, it's their choice; no-one forces them to choose this path, just as no-one forces others to go pro-vaccine.
I personally am very skeptic of the belief that vaccines cause autism or any related condition.
That being said, I don't place any heat on Carrey of McCarthy for standing by their beliefs. They have someone very close to them suffer from the condition/related condition, and they're doing everything they can to make a difference in their belief. Its not an easy thing to do when you have so many people set against you, but they don't back down.
It's simple. The CDC lists the amount of aluminum a child can ingest before it's toxic. The amount present in vaccines exceeds that by up to 10 times AND it's injected in in to the bloodstream. Aluminum is a known neurotoxin. That can't be good for a child.
People. there are SOOOOOO many independent studies showing and proving what he is talking about.
Do a little research! Learn the facts. Anti Vaccine people are not your enemies......we are just informed. Also, the numbers he talked about are true. Why was Autism unheard of 100 years ago and now 1 in 150 or so kids have it? THINK ABOUT IT, and do some research.
I agree with you, that is the mind set of the anti-vaccine crowd. Contrary to what some quack would tell them, many mainstream doctors do care about autistic children. Quacks use scare tactics to make parents use their rather expensive therapy. These types of people should be arrested for health fraud. They never say that their treatment is potentially fatal nor do they use evidence. They use ancedotal claims because that's the closest that they can get to evidence.
Evidence are suppressed by the BIG guys, or should I say BIG pharma and their cronies. Simple. Anyway, we know that MOST people who post negative comments against people like Jim Carrey or any other trying to rise awareness to a very important issue, are being paid by very obscure groups who want to keep us in darkness.
When you have questions about medicine and sciene, ALWAYS ask two-bit comedians and porn-models ... who do the doctors know, amirite?
And now I'm waiting for the learned opinion of Charlie Sheen on the issue ... man, this is Darwins Law at work!

Yeah Jim, who cares about scientific evidence. Media scare stories and conspiracy theories, that's what children's health should be all about
