Instead of trying to intercept the ball, you should tackle the receiver with the dive button. Since there is no pass interference, it will be incomplete.

The original Blitz could be frustrating, but it was so awesome you wanted to keep playing it anyway. This game keeps all the frustrating stuff and changes things enough to make it even more frustrating.
