I dont know i think it depends on the piercer i had my labret pierced 3 times and i found it to be the most painful experience of my life and im not a wimp i have a huge tattoo on my arm and various piercings i then opted for the side lip piercing and the guy who did it didn't let me know he was going to put the needle through so it didnt hurt half as much cause he distracted me so its like asking will a tattoo hurt? some people find it agonizing others enjoy the experience :-)

I had mine done about a year ago. It's over very fast. It just feels like a sharp pain, as if you were punched in the lip and it has that swollen feeling. Mine healed in about 4 months and it doesn't hurt now at all.
