  • So this is the fella that played on Frank Zappa's "Willie the Pimp"? His playing on that song is AMAZING. He was right there with Mitch Mitchell on the fronteir of fusion drumming.

  • Ditto,Ditto to everything said!!!!!

  • Wow!

Yes, LA Express was great- I loved his solo on “Mad Drums & Englishmen” on the Shadowplay LP. His work with Michael Franks- Eggplant and I Really Hope It’s You, and of course, his work on Gate of Dreams (Claus Ogerman). Drummers like John bring honor and respect to the tile “Drummer”.

Thank you so much for posting this.

    We miss you John...

  • unique drummer Very underated

  • Great to see John Guerin. His work with Tom Scott and the LA express is one of a kind. Wish there was more of his work available in video. Thx for posting!

  • Underrated for sure!

70's at the Baked Potato with the L A Express, turned Joni Mitchell on to jazz and his playing on "Court and Spark" is GOLD!

  • Great stuff, I think John Guerin was one of the most underrated drummers ever, the guy could play a million styles and was one of the most recorded cats around not to mention he could swing his tail off.

  • THANKS FOR SHARING
