Sage B. - Coach B's daughter - was, I think 18 or 19 in this video. The purpose of this is to show OLYMPIC FORM, not show off for a bunch of horny, knucklehead powerlifters. If you're going to cower behind the safety of your keyboard and beak off with a bunch of sexist bullshit you should probably know that she's 21 now and probably warms up with your max.
@bigislander72 Sage is silly strong, but in this case, these are training plates. This is probably only 20kg (red plastic training plates are usually 2.5kg each, and assuming she's using a women's bar, that is 15kg).
Last I heard, her snatch PR is 70kg+ and clean and jerk was 90kg+, at a bodyweight of around 63kg. Super strong.
@urpwnd I wish I had started training younger and been more consistent. I've got about 3-4 years experience but have never done more than a year straight without having 3-6+ months off. That would've been cool to have an Olympic lifting coach as a dad. I'll have to make up for it now.
@wookieeassassin i have to add that lil tidbit that i know personally, coach b is hung like a notre dame fighting irishmen... next time look at his lower wear....youre gonna see some IMPRESSIVE size. lol.
@halfhuman25 Please don't make comments that are ignorant. There are tons of people that compete in this lift and the C&J where weight is overhead and they're doing ok. Some lifters do 350+ pounds with the full snatch.
@LesFayes she lifting light weight so feet leave the ground more. Those guys are pulling over maximum attempts usually and weight so heavy hard to leave the ground much at all and usually just to get into better catch. Yet however Andrei Rybakou and Andrei Aramnau-best bulgarian lifters and wr holders- both have an aggressive stomp at the end. The idea not to 'jump' with the weight but to pull so agressivly and fast that your feet may leave the ground as result then stomp to get down quick.
Its not really a stomp, its an agressive land. If you perform the lift correctly with an agressive pull while jumping, the land will be similar to that. The reason it may seem like a stomp is because the lifting shoes are wooden soled, and the floor is wood.
@apelayo92 the stomp is not necessary, it just builds the habit of landing on your heels. if you are landing on your toes, it is impossible to "stomp" and therefore when required to "stomp" it forces you to land on your heels. it is very dangerous to do the clean, jerk, snatch, or squat with your weight forward on your toes.
best snatch in town

@doggbrown1 Ok, well, that's a rather strange comment. Saying he is the best coach would probably be sufficient.

is the stomp at the end necessary? my coach tells us to do that but i dont see how it helps
apelayo92 2 years ago 2
look at chinese or bulgarian lifters and see if they do the stomp or not ;) then you'll have the answer
