...what do they want on broadway with this poor version of this great german musical with al the power of the actors and the music...??....if they dont improve this they dont have to open it on broadway....at least after one month they can close down....oh my good...the second "dance of the vampire story"...
Yeah People say often German because its Gemran-languaged ^^
Im very happy I saw this in Vienna, other Musicals like Elisabeth, TdV came to GER but this will never I think... Maybe it really wouldt fit.. But NOW its on Broadway, isnt it? I Hope, they dont destroy it like they did with TdV... :O
It's so strange to hear familiar words flow so free with the music) I think I like Maike better than Wietske but the German version seems more... bright, original... don't know how to put it
she has such a wonderful, beautiful voice!!!! I dont like Wietske van Tongeren so much as "Ich". I think that woman has a better voice for the role!!!
I have to say, that I'm surprised of the translation. I've seen Rebecca now for over 10 times and it sounds good, at least, they kept Rebecca more original - not as Dance of the Vampires, which was just a comedy, in German it hasn't been - it had been more dark.
She sings "i was only 21 when it all begun in the lobby of a grand hotel, april 24th, 1926 in Monte Carlo" so she just says how old she was - this isn't the case in the german version, that's true but the rest is nearly the same as in german ("alles fing in Frankreich an, damals im April, 1926, in der Eingangslounge eines Grand Hotels, in Monte Carlo" --> all begun in France, in april 1926, in the lobby of a grand hotel in Monte Carlo) just a little adaption ;)
I know, i've seen Rebecca about 10 times ^^, so I just mentioned, that it was a little bit changed, not that I don't like it. It's obvious, that they can't use the text one by one, it won't sound good, so I wrote the part above.
I can't believe, that Rebecca is over in a few days, but luckily I got a ticket for the last show. :)
i need a lyrics on english please..i need for an audition, need very fast...like now please!!!

They should probably work on the lyrics... it's a pretty enough song, though. Can't wait to hear Sierra Boggess blow it out of the water :)

This was recorded before it opened in Vienna. So it has vastly changed since then. The english was the original source material. :-)

I have the same feeling...German version just sounds more powerful and dramatic.

Interesting, that the measure was changed for this demo to 4/4, in the german version it's 3/4.

But Rebecca, I'm very fond of it.

Well, just a little mistake, in German the last part is not her age, but the year when it all started :)
