  • So we meet again dislike bar....HEY, WERE'D YOU GO?!?!?!?!

another beatiful classic by the great ian tyson :)

  • @ akountreegal

Fantastic and creative slide show that really enhanced one of Ian's best songs. Like one of your other commenters, I've followed Ian's recording career since 1963. I have all the Ian & Sylvia albums and all of Ian's solo albums. I don't prefer one period of his career over any other.

He truly is one of the most prolific and creative songwriters of the 20th and 21st centuries.

  • kewl i got family in k falls and my grandpa has been to the MC ranch and stalk mens its pretty cool

  • Well, I met an ol' boy who used be a "boss" on the MC's, he was at a Vet's in K Falls, we (he & I are busted up) talked about Cowpunchers verses Buckaroo's and 35 foot o' nylon vs 55 to 60 foot, and joshed each other some, but hell it's the same game, just like there is Chess sets made of Marble and some of Stainless Steel but it's still chess! As to the Brokeback Mt. thing, well .. folks is folks and I knew a Ranch feller in Arizona had a similar situation. Purty work, thanks fer the song!

  • OMG I LOVE IAN TYSON I ONCE SPENT A WHOLE SUMMER WITH HIM I HAVE ALL HIS ALBUMS AND I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO HIM SENCE I WAS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luv u Ian ^.^

  • Its so nice that Ian Tyson went back to his roots even though he is divorced from his first wife, Sylvia Tyson. He's a very talented country singer and songwriter. And most Americans like me truly appreciate Canadian country music. It makes American country music seem heavily modified that it literally lost its true country roots. Its time for most American country music artists to learn something from a legend like Ian Tyson.

  • Fantastic job on the video. Super song, one of Ian's best.

  • good song and some good ole stockyards pictures

  • Awesome - many thanks for doing this!

  • Happy Birthday Mr. Tyson ....

  • Very nicely done, putting authentic photos to a great song.

  • Unfortunatly, with this bad economy, more of the big remudas for top ranch and performance horses are selling out for pennies on the dollor. With low prices and high feed bills I Hope I can hold on to my small brood band of good mares and my two good studs, otherwise this outfit is history...

  • i cry everytime ,,i listen to this song,,being a rider for so many years and watching ranches fall,,and selling of my own,,,brings good memorys of the great days

  • "SlingerDun - You're an idiot, because I live in Lake County, where the MC Ranch is, so SHUT IT!" In lane county YA! don't think so sonny boy!! Adell Oregon where the MC was at. In this song was talking about is east of lakeveiw on the Oregon /Nevada border off of hwy 140. although in the aera is not about k-falls or lakeveiw. a google will show you what used to be the MC in Adell. I have not seen the movie either but, people that tend sheep are sheephearders NOT cowboys.

  • if you don't me asking, whereabouts was the MC,scuse my ignorance...

  • great video...great song!

  • Love the video, but I did have to wonder about the "Brokeback Mountain" thing LOL.. If you hadn't seen the movie before you through the photo in, I guess that's a good thing :o) .It seems like everybody over there has had at least one old horse named "Banjo"...For those who are bitching that it's not authentic, this song covers alot of things that were happening around the same time!

  • @ImaRodeomom Thank you for your nice comment....lol..I think some people just need something to

grip about...makes it all worth it though when I get a comment like yours...Thank you so much...!!

  • this song is about klamath falls and lakeveiw oregon where i live

  • Good video, really liked it. But why did you have to put in a picture at 3:00 from brokeback montain?

  • @pilsnerperformance Oh Yikes..I never saw that movie and had no idea that picture came from there...I am sorry...your right...I would have never put that in if I would have known...!!

  • @akountreegal I'm sorry to hear that.

  • i live in oregon and i know the horses and the people who worked this ranch and dont kid your self these horses were real horses dont cheat them and they wont cheat you! and it was a sad day in oregon not orgun i love ian but that was the only part of the song that i did not like. and dont think that any of these horses in this song couldnt put you in the ground if you didnt know how to ride!

  • Thanks for video , always enjoy Ian Tyson. This song is special , I too have sat the hurricane deck of some good horses and some rank, and some mornings good horse could be a bit rank.

  • @SlingerDun there was a gelding named banjo. He Came from Millers @ Rock Creek Ranch up by Frenchglenn.

  • As someone whos punched cows his whole life and ridden many a good horse this song means alot to me, its about a way a life I think Mr Tyson does a fine job.

  • ya see there is the mc horses, and then there is Ian, both endangered species, the only thing I know for sure is that love what we have today, tomorrow it might be gone, like tthe MC horses

  • countrygal, you honour us with this video, almost looks like Ian dfid the filming himself, lol. Hey, just glad that some of you out there like that Ol' Ian, cause he is starting to feel those winters now, so keep him warm with your like, even irf he is a damn curmudgeon, lol

  • Very nice, thanks.

  • Great song, and new autobiography and DVD are wonderful. 'Have had the privilege of seeing Mr. Tyson 2x at Hugh's Room. As for arguments about the song.....I am a city slicker and in no position to nitpick about this or that horse, this or that ranch.....but Ian - as with any artist - has the right to use artistic licence.....

  • Just sold my business and had the left over equipment dispersal auction last week. Been thinkin' about "this outfit's history"

  • SlingerDun - You're an idiot, because I live in Lake County, where the MC Ranch is, so SHUT IT!

  • @Stclaircad I don't know who you are calling an idiot...I didn't write the song...I didn't sing the song...I made a video from it...no more...So don't be calling me an idiot..maybe you better call Mr. Tyson and tell him...and I won't tell you who I think the "real" idiot it here,....get a life buddy...and go someplace and look at someone else's videos....stay away from mine..!!! Thanks...

  • @akountreegal um nice @stclircad because my dad is best friends with him

  • Comment removed

  • @Stclaircad Town kid: Name a few horses in the final cavvy of the old 1million acre MC Ranch? Or ask around @ the Indan Village for Weldon Moore, Tom Reese, Terry Murray, Butch Suhan, Max Bennet. They worked the Wolfsen and George "Junk Bond" Gillet MC Ranch before it was dismantled. Better yet, head to Plush and ask Bill Black if he remembers hiring Stclair as a buckaroo or bronco man LOL Maybe Pete Jourdan hired you as a rosinjaw? Of course not! you were still draggin on the tit in 91'

  • @Stclaircad

Where it was, er wuz ..... we cowpunchers is supposed to be mostly ignert!! THIS IS A FIRST CLASS EFFORT ... I mean who gives a hoot about us, but akountreegal does, yessir, Thank You! and about that movie, well they was actually sheep men ................

  • I've just spent a nice evening listening to you sing songs, Ian. Also looking at the beautiful pictures of the Longview Valley ranch country and the Rockies. I drove that Longview Road many times on my way back from Calgary to Kimberley, B.C.

  • I worked there with Bill Black's crew towards the end and don't recall a saddle horse named Banjo? maybe she was a broodmare

  • The pity of it is... with the urban sprawl that drives the great stockmen out of business... the damned metronites come out with their 'security lights' and dump their ill mannered brats in our schools!

  • i rode for this outfit back in the day

  • @MegaHamley ~ 26 years old and worked on the MC? Impossible

  • @SlingerDun

where did you get that ian tyson was 26 years old, i mean maybe a half a century ago he was, but again, allow poetic liscense, as well

  • @fubar50cat: Do you see how reply comments start out with the @ symbol...? well that's who i was calling a 26 year old after reviewing his stats

  • @MegaHamley bullshit where u from
