If you look very carefully, the yellow thing that seems to be casted by Marle, is actually a flame coming from chrono's sword. He then jumped from Glen's back, and it looks as if she did it...and also, her wand is pointing backward; magic can't get out from the lower part of the hand. (i know in the game she doesn't use a wand, but she also doesn't wear that cloak)

Pretty sure it's supposed to be an attack by all three, with Crono jumping off Frog's back and Marle casting some fire spell (that doesn't exist ingame) on Crono's sword.

I don't see why people try so hard to justify it, it's not the first time art related to a game doesn't quite fit with the game, especially in JRPGs. Maybe that particular image dates back to before they finalised the game and they brought it back for the DS version.

your an Idiot. if you look at the cover, you can clearly see that the reason it goes up like that is because of Chrono's sword, which they are doing some Tech, probably fire sword or something. and since he is JUMPING, the flame would have to go UP.

You can though play on the emulators on your pc, although it might not be the same. I did it that way, and realized how amazing this game was. Just get the ROMS and ZSNES emulator and you're set.

Chrono Trigger was the greatest SNES RPG, rivaled only by Final Fantasy 6. Secret of Mana 1 and 2 were fun, but their storylines hardly compared in terms of epicness and drama
