@Killjoyxtrm Foamys range in price but with a radio you can get into it for couple hundred bucks with batteries, ESC's, TX/RX, foam, tape, glue, carbon fiber, etc... Best place to start looking is probably RCpowers. Plenty of designs to choose from and most are easy to build. Once you get the hang of the build process and understand what does what, start messing with the design and functionality.
looks awesome. Definately put a lot of time and effort into it. Hope it works. The F-117 is not a stable craft. The trailing edge of the wings puts the elevons at a bad angle for stability; which is why the real one requires so much computer input to control it. Hope you get around that problem somehow.
NICE, but, I have a question......Where can you get an FPV kit...I have been flying rc planes for 10 years now and i have never used FVP and I would like to try it, I have many planes it could work with and I would appreciate it If you could answer my question
@odledgend I use hobbywireless, but there are many different online stores that carry FPV equipment. Check hobbywireless, rangevideo, futurehobbies, dpcav this should help you get started.
HEY just something you could consider, never flown a plane in my life before but I know quite a bit about em. In the back where you have the air coming from the ducts, there is that part where it is open, and then a little patch where it keeps going, maybe you could cover that, so it doesn't catch any air and slow you down. :)
SWEEEEEET O LOVE IT!! OK, I've done scratch built FPV and scratch built F-117 but never put them together. AND you made it 6 feet tall. I really hope you fot this thing flying. K, now I'm off to see if I can find a flight video on your channel. =)
ouch, that's a long time off work. anyway, i'm rooting for you to have a successful first launch when you get things in order. just the size of that thing looks awsome
Not yet... Our MN winter is just getting over now. Its been really windy the last week so I have not been able to get out for the Maiden Flight yet. I can't wait though!
woa man thats huge. that seems like it will be a lot of power for the light frame of the plane. can you go bigger and faster engines or motors with that plane?
I was gonna do that until I did some research. Finally decided on the props for the acceleration and torque factor, ducted fans are more for speed and less acceleration and torque. I do have a ducted fan project in the works though, that video will be up in spring.
YES! I've already taken the camera stuff out and replaced it with fishing lead for the maiden flight! I'll be testing the range limits with an Easystar in a couple of weeks, when the weather permits...
3 miles huh?! bomb bay?! dont mess with this guy or he will fly his f-117 over ur house. lol. nicely build. i hope u r planning on flying it without the fpv on its maiden to get it dailed in.
If you are putting all this weight in and making it a heavy wingloading plane then you should put a pair ofsuper mega parkjet motorsfor 64oz of thrust
Have you tried to fly the original size and set up so that way you can tell how much different this one feels in the air? Nice jet and I think it will be fun to watch you launch it in the air!!
Yes I have 2 planes built that are the original size. One of them is tail heavy and is a handful! The other hasn't flown yet its MN... I'm really relying on my experience from stock car racing on this one! Set it up, fly it, if I crash... It didn't work! I'm thinking about using retracts... Anyone have any imput on that?
I was thinking about attempting two fully automatic airsoft guns. I saw at walmart they have 2 mini uzi's that hold like 300 rounds, its only 20 bucks per gun. Electric powered, and seem pretty light weight. Guns will be the next goal to accomplish!
Dude! That is soo good! Great idea on the Barbie windsheild. Also, extra weight should only make it more stable. When it gets too light, it gets too "floaty"and goes weird when it slows down.
Nice work man, should go good. You have really good ideas that you actually made work! 5stars!
Nice Plane !! Cant wait to see you fly it. I'm getting ready to get a fpv camera set up my self. What camera set-up are you using? Hope to have mine soon. Looking to get a 900 mhz 500mw set-up from rangevideo.

@vwgameplays right... but you install a FPV setup and its my homemade spy plane...

have u flown this yet?
justfly60482 11 months ago
@justfly60482 yes I flew it with a single motor with both a 3 cell setup and a 5 cell setup. The 5 cell setup with a 11x7 prop really went!

You bought a barbie doll? why not a g.i. joe or something like that? that is a great plane though. great job can't wait to see your flight video.

that would be sick if you were paint balling and you attached the camera to the bottom, and used it to pinpoint the enemy position

@BTvisuals could even drop paint ball grenades as well

Oh hell dude with that video sight view you are about to start an whole new hobby with that alone.
You have got to find a way to record the video you are seeing and post, that would just be wicked.

Looking good man, I cant wait to see this plane finished. What forums are you on? My username is Patrick_W on rcpowers, wattflyer, and rcgroups.
The nice thing about a plane this big is that you can carry so much stuff! FPV combined with airsoft/bombs should be pretty sweet.
PPPatrickWWW 3 years ago
how many channels does it have?
s09smelendez 3 years ago
I'm using a 7 channel radio with this plane, but it flies with only 3 channels used.

woa man thats huge. that seems like it will be a lot of power for the light frame of the plane. can you go bigger and faster engines or motors with that plane?

Yes, its pretty big! The motors are interchangeable. I would like to try this plane with a .40 size nitro engine someday this summer.
x7cj87 3 years ago
you should do that plan this summer for the .40. could you put on 2 .40's?
PicTac 3 years ago
you should put dual ducted fans in it

I was gonna do that until I did some research. Finally decided on the props for the acceleration and torque factor, ducted fans are more for speed and less acceleration and torque. I do have a ducted fan project in the works though, that video will be up in spring.
