  • I love con Air, really good movie

  • This movie prooves people fear Death, even at a reasonable extent. If the sun burned out tommorow what are you gonna do? Turn plon to channel 5 news and put on a Jacket as you drive to work or school? No jackass.

Your gonna spend those last moments with your family, or run around in a panic with a mob of other people with no answers. Cowards!!!!

  • I don't know about you guys, but I like this film.. there are some unbelievable circumstances though when he put his drinking glass on that paper, and loo and behold... 911 is there... :D

I knew there were aliens halfway of the movie.... coz I watched the Ancient Alien series before I watched this....

  • erm yeah the guy talking about good effects, news flash the movies with the lamest effects can still be great if the story is good !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh my goodness it's Valley Girl...because he was so unknown but you could see his future was bright...he was very different yet extremely charismatic. I also loved Family Man.

  • hahaha she's stupid hahaha

    lol

  • Con-Air

  • Hey Lord of War kicks ass, and even N.e.x.t wasn't terrible. Though I do agree The Wickerman remake was a POS.

  • Nick was awesome in "Face off" and on "National tresure" And "Next"

he WAS awesome in "Knowing" but that wasin't enough to save the movie.

  • i think that cage is a great actor, gone in 60 seconds is one of my favorite films along with kick ass, bad lieutenant was also good. lets hope that drive angry doesnt fail to impress.

  • matchstick man was very good 2. I always liked Nicolas Cage his movies keeps you entertained (which is the basic function of a movie) but they ain't masterpieces neither.

  • knowing has a meaning

  • teraclock dumbasses lol

  • this is just bad movie

  • after the ghost rider nicolas Cage he pretty much kept the same roles until now

(even though this apocalyptic type movie is becoming pretty common)

  • Knowing is my favorite Nicholas-Cage-Movie.

  • for me it was leaving las vegas. the rock came pretty close but his performance was one of those rare performance.

  • i hated knowing because everybody died and then it was like the kids went to like some Garden Of Eden.

  • i want my money back

  • the movi3 - you can watch it for free online s @ MOOV ZON,COM Google the above link

  • I saw Face/Off before.

  • wow, WAY too funny she used John Cusack as the comparison... since Cusack is, basically, Nick Cage's equivalent in 2012... which from what I have heard makes "Knowing" seem almost good.

  • I don't see why people bash this so much. I've seen it twice and it was fantastic both times. I see that it uphelp Nicholas Cage's reputation. People just don't accept far-fetched ideas and need to be more open.

  • My favorite Nicholas Cage movie is Faceoff and Conair.

  • Does anyone who saw the movie understand the ending of this movie... I don't understand it!!!

  • dumbass.. the sun activity went up.. they displayed it on a computer.. all life on the earth would disappear. thats what happened in thend.. THE MOVIE SUCKED

  • I know that jerk im talking about when the 2 kids went to a place.. what was that place and why where they there... I was thinking it was related to Adam and Eve but there were other children so thats not a possibilty.

  • Yes, but when you think about it. it is more believable when there were more adam's and eve's (I think the altered that) or everyone on the planet would be related INCESTS

  • A fat lady with a southern accent liked the movie.

Somehow I'm not surprised. This movie was full of holes.

  • lord of war was brilliant.

    next was par.

knowing was so sub-par it was failtastic!

  • next is a good movie..

  • u r gay

  • Lord of War was awesome.

  • my favorite nick cage movies were matchstick men and lord of war. lord of war is also one of my favorite movies of all time, although he has recently been doing some reallyyyyyy bad movie choices. i wasnt expecting anything at all when i first saw the trailer for kn0wing, i expected it to just be bad and cliche', but when i saw it, i was extremely pleasantly surprised and im happy to see i can still put my faith in old mr. cage :)

  • WHOOO RAISING!!!!!!

  • This movie was just so good....

Except for the ending that sucked.

I really LOVED the disasters they where fantastic.

  • A Nicholas Cage film that won me over? Well, I did enjoy National Treasure. :)

As for Knowing, I absolutely loved it. The storyline is a good concept, but often times shat upon in shit like Signs; Knowing pulls it off perfectly and comes up with a very intelligent and dramatic script. Cage's performance is mature and emotional, and the rest of the actors weren't half bad.

  • good thing it did not have a scene where nick got in to a lead refrigerator like indie did

  • lol

hahah shit dude this is a good movie ..

    thinkx

  • may be the Aliens where angles but they where keeping up with the curent times

  • good acting but the story of the movie very ODD and bad.

  • The movie was good untill the end.. WHAT THE FUCK ALIENS OUT OF NO-WHERE!

  • NOT ALIENS DUMBASS . ANGELS

  • That's even more far-fetched.

  • I really liked knowing, but it was a very depressing. It's very intelectual. One Nicohlas Cage movie i hated was National treasure. It wasn't that interesting.

  • 2:49 She looks like my math teacher!

  • This is a good movie except for the fact everyone on earth except Caleb and Abby die.

  • Yea right lady....... listen to this person about how to run your acting career Nick and you too could be out on the street with a really big microphone telling someone that is making good movies and lots of money how to wind up being the poor guy with the camera having to listen to Miss Noitall and get her audio levels right.Great movie. I don't know anyone religious or not that didn't enjoy it. It was wrote so you could decide, Devine intervention or aliens.

  • This was a good movie. Even Ebert said it was good.

  • if u think nic cage is a bad actor then u know nothin about films.

  • i just watched this the special effects where awsome especialy the plane crash

  • i think nick cage is a great actor, every actor has their share of bad movies. i think "Knowing" was done beautifully. i am not religious man, but after watching the movie i am seriously considering visiting a church.

  • i think the movie was trying to tell the churchying people to rethinking about the bible XD. i think the bible is really actally history event when alien life came to earth

  • I loved the movie, I feel that a lot of people didn't like it because it either played on their beliefs or they just can't handle an ending like that.

For example, the rotten tomatoes briefing:

"Knowing has some interesting ideas and a couple good scenes, but it's weighted down by its absurd plot and over-seriousness."

    Absurd plot? Having aliens show up to take some of the smarter children to reserve the human race isn't super absurd, neither isthe flare;

  • And "over-seriousness", last time I checked this wasn't a comedy :-/

  • The flare was not absurd, but the effects of it were extremely exagerated. Solar flares are broken up by Earth's magnetic field before they even reach us. If one were to actually hit us, satellites, cell phones, and internet would be pretty much wiped out for years or months. Bottomline, we'd be set back to atleast the early century as a species. However, we survive as a species. Now a gamma ray burst, on the other hand, we'd be S.O.L. if we were in the path of one going near by. Look it up.

  • Keep in mind though that solar flares include all the types of radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum from gamma downwards. Your right the magnetic field does protect us mostly but even it has it's limitations, particles do penetrate deep within it, even hitting the ground. The movie simply shows the sun going... well, the effects weren't really overdone, what was overdone was the story, that kind of flare is only what we'll see a few billion years from now when Sol goes kaput.

  • I think I have a crush on Grace

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Anyone who doesn't "get it" is quite simply to shallow minded and mentally feeble. Don't you just hate movies that don't explain themselves to you?

  • I enjoyed this movie, it had a good build up. satisfyingly edge of seat and unexpected.

then the ending. you either like it or hate it. but you cannot love the ending. it is by far the weakest part of the film.

Cage outs in a satisfactory performance. but noithing approaching the talent he can sometimes on rare occasions produce.

not a stand out performance at all but an average sci-fi. my advice.

sace your money for a better release and wait for this to come out in rental or on TV.

  • haha, Grace you have know idea how topic this viedo is in my life right now,

Me and a friend watched Cage's remake of wickerman a few months ago. This unargueablely aweful (if unintentionally comedic) film kick started the debate.

Is Cage a good actor, can he even act and if so, whats his best film?

I was unaware of the Cage hate club until recent. I was always a fan if such films as gone in 60s, face off, the rock and yes even lord of war!

so i an thrilled to participate in this debate.

  • Yeah, I love NIc Cage too, and he's such a paradox as he's made some of the best movies out there, but also some of the worst! What did you guys decide in your debate?

  • Well, we agreed to disagree, my friend straight up refuses to acknowledge he can act. She hates all Nicholas "horse face" Cage's films and points to his incessent mumbling (lack of diction) as proof.

I on the other hand realy enjoy many films as stated earlier, but must admit he can sometime come across as wooden and emotionless.

he does action, comedy fine but The Weather Man? what was that?

  • I genuinely enjoyed it, from what i remember (clearly not a memorable preformance).

Regardless even if he isn't one of the most critically claimed actors he certainly is one of the busiest.

He roles out like 3+ a year (like 5 in 09), with that many appearances, it really is a hit or miss career.

My fav that ive seen would be a tie between lord of war and Con air.

But honourable mention to gone in 60s and windtalkers.

  • I have yet to see any of these films and appreciate anyones input good or bad on whether to see them.

    Raising Arizona

    City of Angels

    oh god, he's in G-force.

    Respect plumit.

  • this was a great movie idea except the ending. twist can make movies great, but in this case it made it terrible.

  • Why did Nick Cage's father die in the fire too? Shouldn't he have been saved too?

  • It had a great and thrilling story..but the ending did kind of ruin it.

Spoilers, I actually don't understand the ending. When the woman dies, the aliens said she was safe. What does that mean? I expected there to heaven and everyone would be saved like it says in the bible, but no, we just had to suddenly include aliens. What a buzz kill. Other than that, great movie.

  • they were not aliens, they were angels.

    notice their wings.

  • how you know there not alien race that has wings. plz think of that

  • Was this film written by cs lewis by any chance??

  • @OstoJuub The man clearly states that he is an alien in the movie.

  • @OstoJuub I could agree with you so much

  • you know alien cant lie as well as human. maybe the only way to get the girl to go with them XD

  • and the movie fucked up my head

  • I FUCKING HATE YOUR VOICE

  • the black guy a 6/10 what the fuck??

  • maybe if the ending had two lesbians going at it...just maybe, the movie would of been a wee bit better.

  • The movie was brilliant until the ending. Im sure they could have made a better ending. Like the numbers on the door caused at the end were a major disaster. Like a twister or tornado or volcano??

  • Nicolas Cage is a great actor and i like his movies, this one i liked it.... until i saw the ending -_-

  • how, it just showed the whole 2012 event

  • Not exactly bongo46, if you remember, near the end, when the angles/aliens were leaving, they showed other ships leaving the planet from various "worldwide" locations... they just had to focus on the kids that we were already familiar with. overall the movie was good and the character reactions/choices were pretty realistic. I agree they could have made a better ending, but it wasnt meant to entertain really, it was more to make you think about what you'd do if things were out of your hands.

  • The movie was good, effects were realistic and the Christian overtones were somewhat "knowing". It went south with the ending. It looks like only white kids go to heaven...and there are only white angels and all the disasters happen in the US. be careful what you wish for...

  • this movie was awsome until the near end.

the ending made me wanna throw something at the tv.

i reconmend ypou watch it, enjoy it and turn it off before the ending.

  • I watched the movie last night. It was great until the very end. If you have watched it, you know about how the ending was. Horrible. The ending left us "Unknowing"

  • where did you read that one?

    kinda clever.

  • This movie sucked! And the religious undertones are sickening :/

  • This movie was good but there was some parts of the movie that had me thinking. First thing the girl that wrote the number, dates on paper she wrote when the end of the world would be. Now the scene where the little kid was writing the Dates down on paper, Why would he write that if the world was going to end already and he can't be writing it for future prepossess because the world was going up in flames and the place where the aliens(Angles) was taking them was not going to end.

  • the thing i don't get is the people at the end aliens or angles? they look like aliens but they kinda look like they have wings. it was good but the part with talking the kids only was stupid.

  • I don't think the director nor the writers know the answer to that question... The movie was poor...very VERY poor.

  • it had a good idea though. and nicolas cage was a good actor in it. its my opinion. because most the movies i seen that he is in he is some kind of a genius. anyway it wasn't that bad and it wasnt good. so i would rate it 3/5. and thats me being generous.

  • the scene where the world blew up and and the buildings pretty much dissapeared was soooo freaking awesome.

  • Lord of War was a great movie

  • The Movie Was Good Until The Last Have An Hour. CGI WAS AMAZING.

  • the aliens where what we call angels and most of the movie talked about thing in the bible something to look at and think about. do you ever think that the movie are telling us something that we need to know

  • No. I think it sucked.

  • THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS

  • it was a decent movie it kept you thinking after, and who ever said that the alien thing was off was wrong, you probably never heard of the theory that aliens actully are aliens and did you see their wings when they flew up

  • I thought this movie was awesome!! For once they actually show the big disaster taking place, rather than them finding a solution and showing no big finish.

  • the movie was pretty good accept for the alien thing like wtf. throughout the movie they were talking a bout prophesy and psychics and god the ending was not consistent to the movie.

and seriously how is a cave going to protect you from radiation. but i'd give it a 3.5/5

  • yea thought exactly the same. If you ever heard of the movie Push it was made by the some production company, it was the exact same deal decent except for the end

  • he said in the movie that the caves would not protect them when he was trying to get diana to believe him about the numbers he found on the door.

  • The movie was awful, God awful, if you disagree you are a moron. Why on Earth would any one think that by hiding a cave you would be saved from the Suns radiation caused by a solar flare. Why show the children every future disaster and not just take them before any occur? Please Hollywood quit making these lame movies!

  • the please stand by logo is from fallout 3

  • dis is my prediction i think alien help us all poeple if the tme has come

  • I love this fuckin movie!

  • this was a rely good movie Only thing is that his sister in the movie is the worst actores I have eaver seen

  • national treasure was his best but failed in this movie.

  • I liked it up till the end. That has to be one of the most disappointing ending. The crisis scenes had badass CG, and made me go "Oh my God" when I saw people burning alive and being crushed in a subway.

  • What was bad about the Movie? I thought the ending was great, it was realistic to me besides aleins coming and taking the children. If this type of crisis happened we would all die in real life.

  • The alien thing is what I'm talking about. That was the part of the ending that spoiled it for me. I think that the writers didn't have many good ideas for a happy ending besides that.

  • This movie had good CG only in the scene where the city is being demolished. Most scenes were so horribly done that I couldn't focus on the actual (weak) storyline. The airplane crash scene CG was just comical, which obviously takes the dramatic effect away for me. I'd say it seems like it was written by some kid in college, as the characters were cheesy, scenery was AWFUL, and the ending was just lame. There was a creative idea behind it..maybe. but watching the movie was just excruciating

  • any religions can come true at the end of our time. this movie is good because it deals with my beliefs and religion except the end where the "aliens" take the kids when it should of been angles. everybody has a opinion about the end so we all gonna have to wait and see and respect everybody's beliefs in the meantime

  • the movie was alright, the effects and stuff were amazing though .

if we die the way everyone died in the movie, it would be a pretty quick death. o.O

  • It's an absolutely horrible movie in my opinion. It is a fundamentalist religious movie in disguise, and you'd never know what kind of garbage you're going to see by the trailer. It bashes you over the head with biblical symbolism and a christians ideals for the majority of the movie and leads to a rapture-ish, the good people go to heaven type of view of the world. The acting was also terrible.

  • ok so i gotta be the person to go off topic here, but am i the only one who finds the young guy in the white jacket to be really cute.

  • This movie was cool, if you really think about stuff like that, just think about how the weather is now days, could be true..but who know......

  • what a load of old bullshit this movie is ! my pet tortoise has more acting ability !

  • Was this like a movie by the makers of the da vinci code cause they always find a way to question the Bible

  • thats a big microphone

  • this movie kind of reminded me of the day after tomorrow you know? that feeling of fear and stuff...

  • yeah its called a disaster movie lol

  • A truly awesome film. My wife and I give it a 10. Cage did a great job, and so did the 2 kids in it.

The movie is heavily based on Ezekiel of the Bible (the pictures drawn by the first firl and the granddaughter). The four "aliens" were angels (indeed, when the arose to the "Mother ship" you could see their wings appear.

The "final" planet was the new Earth with the Tree of Life.

I have not figured out what the rocks were, though....

    Good movie!!!

  • Well I think the movie wanted you to take it away from the bible so much. This movie was really for people who believe in the ancient astronaut theory or aliens in the bible. So it would be the other way around. The "angels" would be aliens.

  • Yeah, I have NO idea what the rocks were, but if anyone has a guess I'd gladly like to hear it.

  • that would be nick cage.

  • The rocks were rocks from the lactation where the aliens take the children, I think that is all it means. You can stop reading now if you don't want my opinion on the movie, I'm including in this. The movie was excellent. Easily the best movie I've seen in a long time. Those that didn't like it, are probably brain dead. Weather you like making fun of a movies as you go (the drinking), or something to get your gears turning, to do some thinking (evolution personally); Its a fantastic movie.

  • I think your mistake is saying "you're brain dead if you don't like it", as if there is some objective standard by which you can judge these things. I personally felt the story was fragmented, characterisation poor, acting poor, religious undertones confusing, motivation weak . . . oh, it goes on. But I don't think that's the ONLY perspective you could take, because I'm not a narrow minded smeg.

  • Hey, I used the word 'probably'. If you think the story was fragmented, then you weren't paying enough attention. As evident in your admission of your inability find meaning in it. Its art, make up something, jeez. Determinism made real through our ability to give meaning to random events. Having consciousness, evolution, the kids being able to hear the aliens, psychic ability. As far as the acting goes, who gives a fuck? As long as its watchable. You aren't handing out awards, buddy.

  • Hah! No, the problem is that I WAS paying enough attention and it was a terribly written film. If the best defence you can give is "make something up", that really doesn't say much.

So we should accept anything just watchable? With the amount of money put into it, why not push for a really great film instead of a confused hackjob? Check out Rose Byrne in Sunshine. Much better, and criminally underrated.

  • this movie made me think my brain still hurts lol

  • No i am not a cage fan. His worst movie so far was(i think) next but national treasure was a fantastic adventure movie!

  • Nicky cage in Adaptation

  • Nick Cage:

    oyy mrr shmigin imm

  • good movie/but kinda makes me think/and i dont like to think lol j/k

  • I like National Treasure.

  • Yeah, it was a good adventure film, but knowing is the best :D

  • John 7:37-39 『On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.』

  • The tree at the end is a reference to the Buddhist great Tree of Life. So not all references were to Christianity.

  • SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! DON'T LOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways, i think the aliens gave the kids the rabbits to eat.

  • LOL! Who cares what the movie was about. This was a great video.

  • ....there was one scene where you can see other mother ships moving away from earth, so it's not really religious. It's only your eyes sees what you want to believe. If you've ever watch swordfish twice, you would know what I'm talking about.

  • every time i hear that siren on tv i get chills

  • it was kind of religious because at the end the 2 kids become adam and eve so i guess u could say its on the religious lines.

  • ....not really....there are other mother ships taking other people who can hear them to other habitable planet.

  • Sigh... it was a religious movie, there's this 'christian apocalypse' talking about something like what happened at the end of the movie.

"The world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens which now exist are kept in store by the same word, reserved for fire until the day of judgement and perdition of un-godly men."-"The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, [continued below]

  • [continued from comment expected to be above] and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up."

    Basically it said that god will incinerate everything on earth from above, and take the people who both;

    1,have faith in God, and

    2. have a lot of future left in them,

to heaven. In Knowing, a 100 microtesla solar flare incinerated Earth. So called 'aliens' took the little kids away to 'heaven' and they had both qualities.

  • [continued from comment discovered to be below, of which continued to the one below that one]

Nicholas Cage had neither qualities, and was left on Earth to be burned alive.

On the heavenly planet the little kids went to there was a tree which looked suspiciously like the Tree of Knowledge, originated from the Bible. Coincidence? I think not.

One last thing; DO NOT get the wrong impression, I'm not a religious man [or to be more precise, adolescent]. I'm explaining the religious part of Knowing.

  • hahahaha, well nice to know religious people will always stay young, or to be more precise, adolescent. and He'll not take those who have a lot of future in them, but those who had faith in them.

  • they had wings when they flew up into the spaceship, they could of been angels, but whatever

  • what? why did people say it is a religious based movie? when the movie say there is no god. fuck u humans u die now. lols love that part!

  • the knowing

  • Gone in 60 seconds is the best :P

  • Dude... the only people who don't understand this movie are the ones not intrested in it. You have to be into suspense and you have to keep an open mind that the possibilities are endless. NO body really knows what can happen in the future... that is why it makes it cool that he can predict tragedies from numbers. Give this movie a chance people...

  • lol Why are u telling him what to do??? he's a good actor. No matter what movie it is.

  • trully dreadful movie, the ending is just too bad to even explain it is a religious movie and ending in disguise.

definately not a memorable nick cage movie and i am a nick cage fan, so i was very disappointed with this one.

  • Knowing was awesome, National Treasure 1 and 2 were really good to!

  • I LOVED this Movie Its In My Top 5 favourite movies

  • i liked the movie too it was worth to watch.

  • I loved this movie!!!!!!!

It seems depressing because it is the end of the world, but the ending fixes it all.

    It was awesome.

    100000000000000000000000000 out of 10

  • national treasure 2 book of secrets

i loved that movie and the rock was good

  • The Rock

  • i loved national treasure those films are amazing

  • I also loved the fact that it didn't end with some flowery crap where they all held hands and sang "We're gonna make it..." Canterbury was Wonderful - he really looked haunted and numb when the terror was really unfolding... and the little girl seemed more together than her screen mom who was looooosing her mind! Rarely do I sit in a movie not knowing what comes next - well this was one of those times! EXCELLENT! I want the director's cut!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved this movie, even more than the first time. Nick Cage is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! This reporter is soooo wrong! I give it a 10-10-10- the effects and the story was one of a kind and very relevant. I don't want to see a dumb flick starring mindless, clueless blondes. Thank God for Knowing and Nick Cage... I saw the film yesterday with a dweeb who talked all through the movie and tried to feel on my breasts (he's 48)j so I had to see it again today sans the loser.. it was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
