  • Wow. and here I thought, less than 100 people in the World knew about this show.

  • it's been a long time since i last saw this movie thank you for putting it up

  • Man it was a shame this didn't get the ratings, it was intended to be a pilot.

  • YES! I finally remembered the name of this film and I was able to find it on Youtube. Thank you! I love the internet. My sister was addicted to this movie when we were kids and when I told her so she said she didn't remember it at all! Now I can show her the clip and see if she still has no recollection.

  • This looks like it wanted to be care bears.

  • so basically, Sliders? but way before that show

  • I've been trying to remember this movie, but I could never think of the name. It

    s nice to know I wasn't crazy.

  • Thank you so much! I randomly said FLUPPY to my dog today and it made me think of this movie.

  • awesommmmmme, ich search for this a long.

  • just as I thought! THOSE...WERE... FLUPPIES!!!

  • This was actually intended to be turned into a cartoon series, but due to poor ratings, it was canceled.

  • Omg, i can't belive it!!!! I'm Italian and here only few people know about this movie...it's the first time I'm watching it after i guess 16 years. Ty for posting this!

  • I remember recording this as a child, and constantly watching the video again and again just because i thought it was the most amazing movie i ever saw.

unfortunately it doesn't seem that a lot of people have seen this movie, as searches of it on Google reveal scarce results and i really do hope it picks up in popularity because it is a jewel or Disney

(not even any of my older sisters friends have seen this movie, and thats quite a shock).

  • Oh this is the one with the magic key. I have been looking for this movie forever

  • It's weird to not hear Lorenzo Music sounding like Garfield.

  • THANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I named my dog after stanley and before that his nickname was aussie. This is my favourite childhood movie why didnt they make another! I HAVE LOOKED FOR AGES TO FIND THIS!!!!!!!!!!! (my vcr ate the original video i had)

  • Thanks so much for the upload! I had a copy on VHS when it originally aired, but within a year or two something happened to it, and I've wanted to watch it ever since. Guess I'm still a kid at 31. There are so many good 80s Disney tv movies they need to put on dvd. Thanks again, you've made my day!!!

  • I've been looking for this one! God Bless you and God Bless youtube! Bringing back childhood memories for me!

  • My favorite movie as a kid. Period. Even tho I only saw it twice cause Disney aired it once a year in 1996 and 1997. Such an amazing concept, I wish they would have made the tv series. Haha I named my toy dog Stanley cause he was my favorite character in the world. :) So special.

I'm gonna write a Fluppy Dogs fanfiction and post it on the internet cause it was so cool and I want more of the story!!!

  • @HannahSoprannah Really? Heh I named my first dog Ozzie cuz he was my fav XD

  • Who the fuck dislikes Fluppy dogs?

  • The art looks nice, and I like the glowing effects.

  • trying to remember the name of this one GAH!!! everyone u tell goes DUH!!! Pound puppies! No retard FLUPPY DOGS! thanks for uploading

  • My cousins and I loved this movie! Somebody has to put this on DVD!

  • Omg... I have been trying to remember the name of this movie for about 10 years. Thanks for posting

  • I remember first seeing at least some of this while visiting someone's house. I'm viewing this in full for the first time. Thanks.

  • omg i am so old!

  • sweet memories

  • my fist time watchingg , this is better dan cartoons now .

  • @CHRiiSTiAN99 i agree fully.

  • @herliette: The Little Mermaid. -.-

  • Sweet show. I remember thinking that the kids sister Claire was hot! lol

  • Used to have this on VHS recorded from the television but it was taped over. Thanks for posting!

  • :( If anyone could recall a animated movie as old as this one in the US, its a blonde child mermaid under the sea wearign shells, pearls and a crown tell me about it :( thnx

  • OMG!!! I remembered the blue dog but I couldnt remember the name of this movie!! Thank you so much!!!

  • what.

  • I absolutely loved this when I was small! So cute and cuddly, and that magic key...!

  • OMG YES!!! i watched this like three times as a kid and could never find it again! thank you for osting soooo much you dont know how happy i am to see it again^^

  • This was my favorite cartoon growing up! Along with Gummie Bears and no one knows what I am talking about!

  • OMG! I thought it was all in my head, but fluppy dogs are real!

  • It wasn't this one, but me and my sister would watch this video tape of Fluppy Dogs everytime we went to my grandmas's. It's crazy seeing this.

  • Oh my god! I used to watch this since I was little like every day!

  • You have no idea how excited I was to see this! This was one of my favorites! I haven't seen this in over 20 years!

  • Thanks so much for posting!!

  • OMG i was OBSESSED with this as a kid

  • i have been trying to remember the name of this cartoon for years. this was one of my favorite movies as a kid and no one i know remembers ever seeing it. i am so excited this is on youtube, and i'm not crazy!

  • never seen it i thought i knew al disney

  • only someone on drugs could think of this story

  • you have no idea how long I've been searching youtube for this, thanks for putting this up!

  • Your awesome.

  • im 22 and ive been trying to find this movie for a while. like most people, all i could say is that it was a movie with talking dogs and portals..lol.my friends had no idea. anyways.. thanks for posting this movie!!

  • @darkrain06 All I could remember about it was that when you pet the dogs, you can fly, or something. (I'm 23)

  • As a 21 year old, I find Fluppy Dogs very appealing and fun to watch even though I unfortunately never had the chance to watch this as a kid, and it reminds me of the other Disney cartoons from the same era I used to watch during my childhood years, like Duck Tales or Rescue Rangers. Why doesn't Disney make good cartoons like this anymore instead of the crappy shows you see on Disney Channel today? I feel sorry for kids today who missed out on the good ol' 80s and 90s Disney shows.

  • Kid's mom: "En electric blue puppy?! I'm takin' this!"

  • I saw this long ago when it came out on ABC back when i was 4/5 years old and remeber it very well, the main dog looks like my dog Milo. Suppose to be a pilot for a purposed TV show but didn't get made, oh well. At least we got Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Aladdin The Series and Gargoyles for the years.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I wish this would get a decent DVD release, or a higher quality YouTube posting at least. I remember this one as a kid too.

  • We had this on VHS and I'm pretty sure the ending got cut. So happy to find it on Youtube!

  • I never realised this was disney!!! I LOVED this!

  • I love fluppies! Yeah I remember sliders I've watched most of them on netflix... Then I got to the newer ones which just weren't the same.

  • anybody remember sliders?

  • Ive loved this since i was little and taped it from Disney,Disney should show this again. My tape i still watch but its wearing out, this needs to go on DVD

Disney is cool today but some of newer programs dont have the same substace this and other Disney prograMS HAD IN THE 80S and early to mid 90s

  • i was soooo thrilled to find this first round of looking!!!!! i use to watch this on tape like EVERY SINGLE DAY it felt like when i was 3 for a couple years!!!! one of the best movies i remember!!!!! Alligatorjuice, you are AWESOME!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i miss this kind of disney.. wish they would put this on dvd.. i was 3 years old when i watched this and i remember it! love it! thanks for posting it!!

  • Comment removed

  • It kinda reminds me of time bandits.. except they are dogs.. lol

  • @alombardino - Never heard of "Time Bandits," I was thinking more like multicolored "Pound Puppies" mixed with "Sliders." Also, anyone remember Slush Puppy drinks and the bubblegum they also sold? That's what these dogs remind me of. Also LOL @ Michael Rye (Duke Igthorne) as Wagstaff, I keep expecting him to start yelling for Toadie to "get me that Gummi Berry Juice!!!!" or something of the like. I read this was actually a pilot for a series, wonder what it woulda turned out like...

  • I can't believe I remember this movie! ^_^

  • omg i always thought they were popples :p been looking all over for vthe vhs that i recorded it on i luv this squeeeee

  • Please Disney Put Fluppy Dogs On blue ray

I am dying to see it again

  • fluppy!!!

    that's my word!

  • Yay, fluppy dogs!

  • haha i used to watch this at my grandparents house when I was little and ive been trying to remember what it was called...it brings back a lot of memories

  • I just left a link to Part 1 at Yahoo!Answers~Movies, where someone asked that this film be identified. So far, I'm the only one who recognized the description I guess. I'm older than most who saw this, so I don't have the same type of memories. I do clearly recall the toys at stores. Perhaps I'll bookmark this to watch later.

  • They played this constantly on the Disney Channel; so often that when I was little, I actually thought it was a series. Good stuff. God I love youtube.

  • Oh my GOSH!!! I loved this. I think it was on Family Channel or something. Like other comments below, everyone I talked to about the Fluppy Dogs thought I was crazy!!! Thank you for posting this!

  • I remember this too...I still have it on VHS..

  • I still have ths on vhs too, but it's soooo fuzzy from the tae being so old, seems this video is better quality, LOL, OMG! I missed this show SOO much! When I saw that some one had psted it, I was like the little kid in the store cart saying "doggie!" only I was saying "FLUPPY!!!!!" LOL

  • OMG i loved it when i was younger, thought I am crazy, but finally found them.

    Ich liebe diesen Film!!!!

  • OMG! I was SO excited to find this! I couldn't remember the name of the movie, but I knew it was on Disney Channel. Thank goodness for google. Hahaha... Yay for Fluppy Dogs! 80's rock baby!

  • I can't believe I found this finally, been looking for it everywhere. Every one I asked about it thought I was crazy and dreamed it up. HAHA glad I'm not the only one who remember it.

  • @civicchic same here lol my mom didnt now what iwas talking about! LOL

  • I still have one of the stuffed toys!!

  • @freebird22001 what did they look like i think i had one too it ws blue

  • Holy crap, I always vaguely remembered some animated movie having to do with colorful puppies but nobody else I knew did! I thought I was imagining it or something, I cannot believe I found this and it's real!

  • One of my favorite movies growing up too :) Wish that they would release it on DVD!

  • OMG this makes me so happy! It was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. :) Thank you SO much for posting this!

  • This is a classic...I watched it when I was little until my recorded VHS finally took a shit

  • haha. i have been looking for this forever!!! i kept typing in "floppy dogs"..... It was my favorite cartoon to watch as a kid.

  • Wow!! same here I finally just found this ..I watched this back in the 80's and i been typin in dog/crystals..keys but I had no clue what it was called ty ^^ for the memories

  • OMG,OMG,OMG, I've been looking and looking and looking for this movie!!! I couldn't remember what it was called or anything (Which is impressive, because I remember things as old as Peter No-Tail and David the Gnome). I kept thinking it was Pound Puppies or something!

    THANKyouthankthankyouthankyou! *_*

  • I did an 80s tribute slideshow and Fluppy dogs is in it. Please watch and comment I worked so hard on it! Thanks. I LUV FLUPPY DOGS TOO!!

  • I like it, tahnk you evry much. 20th years later I watch it again.

  • Sad that this was never made into a television show.

I always wondered why the animation for early '90s/late '80s shows was so good, while now it's mostly flash animation and digital stuff.

What happened to the animation studio who animated this and those Disney Afternoon shows? I do know it was outsourced to Japan and Korea mostly.

  • I remember when this was out, but I never watched any of it. The beginning reminds me of Terry Gilliam's move: "Time Bandits," except that when the dimensional doors open, they sound effect reminds me of the Gummy Bears. Makes sense, the voice of Mr. Wagstaff is Micheal Rye, the voices of Duke Igthorn and King Gregor. Not the first time two mortal enemies had the same voice talent.

  • @VulpineJessica Also the voice of Ozzie (the green fluppy) was also the voice of Tummi Gummi. =3

  • Oh YEAH! Tummy DID have the same voice as Garfield and Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters)! His name is Lorenzo Music I think it's funny that when they found a voice for the live action Garfield, they chose Bill Muray, the "live action" Peter Venkman.

  • lol yeah, I thought that was hilarious. XD

  • Gosh i remember this movie so much!

  • Thank you sooo much for posting this, this is the only childrens movie that my mind never let go of even though I havn't seen it in 15 years... Wow!

  • o wow i remember seeing this on tv and my mom taped it for me on a vhs lol i love fluppy dogs

  • Wow...this brings back memories...I watched this as a kid and had the stuffed animals from the show. Thanks for posting this...It will be awesome to show my own daughter so she can have the same enjoyment I did.

  • We still have this on an old recorded tape with such gems as Unico (Lo and behold, the second anime I ever saw) and a whole smattering of voltron and care bears.

  • this brings back so many memories for me... I loved these flups

  • Oh my gosh! I haven't found this for years! Best movie ever!! xD

  • Had this on tape, and I'm sure I watched it over 100 times. I loved it so much!

  • hey i am from german.. i wanna ask i anyone have this film on DVD.. ( i prefere german.. but english is also good) .. please send me a message.

  • i'm from germany..

have anyone this movie on DVD ( in language german or english?) please send me a message..

  • u r a god for posting this lol...i never cld rem the name of this show and i finally got it aft so much time im soooo glad its posted thx so much u rock man

  • i have this on tape somewhere.. everyone thought i was crazy when i talked about a cartoon with dogs who went through portals to other dimensions.... but now i found my proof!

  • Thanks for puttin' this up.

I taped it when I was a kid but a few years back, my mom had my brother tape over it for some news report, I was SOOO mad at them.

  • I saw this when it first aired, when I was not yet 4, and have been trying to figure out what it was ever since. I tried describing it to my mother a couple of times and she was sure I'd just made it up. Today, I finally figured out the right Google search that brought me here. Mystery solved. Thank you.

  • I have this on tape, my nanna taped it from the TV for me =)

  • ammunition bandoliers? Did they just come from the alternate Earth where Hitler won WW2 (and was a dog?)

  • 1, OMFG!!! *laughs* I haven't seen these in nigh 10 years, if not more!! XD

2, Well damn, those are bandoliers... If we think WW2, it's a mix between an M1 belt and an M1 bandolier.

  • I sure remember the animation being of high quality. TMS Entertainment, the animation studio famous today for "Lupin III", "Detective Conan", "Anpanman", and "Little Nemo", did the animation for some of Disney's animated programs and specials, including this one.

  • sliders???????

    really this is sooo weird..

for years I kept saying to big eared puppies..

    fluppy puppy..

I had no idea there actually WAS fluppy puppies (dogs)

  • Too Bad there was no real catchy get stuck in your head for eternity theme.

  • And surprising, considering that the music was composed by Shirley Walker.

Who, by the way, is best known as the composer for Batman: the Animated Series. For such a legandary musician, you'd think she'd be able to come up with an insanely catchy theme.

But given the influx of catchy theme songs ALREADY in existence, I think we can all live without one more. And honestly, does this film really need it?

  • But the show if had catchy theme, due to this being a colorful Disney Cartoon and before Gargoyles, it would've probably been a legit cartoon show.

Shirley will always be good for making her Batman theme for the 90s cartoon, should've stuck with dark themes for dark action cartoons.

  • fluppy dogs were my FAV! but noone believed they were real. I'm so glad to prove everyone wrong!

  • This was one of my favorite movies as a little kid. The fluppy dogs rule! So many people don't remember them. My sister had the fluppy dog tent that went over your bed. I had the popples one.

  • This was a great short movie and it's too bad it never spawned into a cartoon. I believe that I still have the video tape that it was recorded on. I have to ask my dad about it.

  • As a kid, I even had the colouring book of Fluppy Dogs.

Now as an adult, I see just how amazingly flawed and filled with plot holes this movie is...talking dogs lost in other dimensions, how absurd. :P

  • seeing this is like the dream of a dream..from a million years ago. thank you so much!!!!

  • Yay fluppy dogs! until a few years back when I happened to see this on tv I was usre that I had imagined it as a child lol, I have just faved this so I can watch it when I have a spare hour or so :) thanks for sharing, your 80's classics rock!

  • i hate it when that happens. like you just brush off precious moments as a dream. i love it when u finally find what uve been looking for

  • OH MAN, i just saw this and instantly remember this, i love this when i was a kid i miss it so must, they just dont make them like they used to

  • I think this just made my year. <33

  • do u know how many ppl do NOT know what i'm talkin' about when i say "fluppy dogs"!? FINALLY i can watch them again! (i miss my old toons!)

  • Do they sell this on DVD yet? I used to watch it as a little girl and I know my daughter would love it.

  • @Crystal9CA: The only DVDs out there are bootlegs. Disney never even bothered to release this on VHS, probably because of the low viewing figures, so the only copies of the film are off-air video recordings like the one you see here.

  • i never seen this before, but its cool

  • OMG I lOVE the Fluppy Dogs!!!!!!

  • I haven't seen this since I watched it on tv as a kid. I remember really liking it and looking at it now, it holds up really well. Pity this never got beyond a pilot. This idea had the potential to be among the Disney classics of television such as Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, or Gummi Bears!

  • I was looking all over the house for my old VHS tonight. Couldn't find it, so I'm SO glad to see this here. Thanks for sharing it! <3

  • Finally! Been years and couldn't remember the name of this movie then it just popped into my head so I youtubed it and here it is. Thanks for posting this

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Why does the ONE GIRL always have to be pink? :/

  • 5:45

  • There are two girls - the other is yellow. ^_~

  • Hmm, well maybe, but I still don't see why the girls always have to follow the same coloring...

  • ironically I'm watching UFC at the same time, so I'm still a child at heart and still love to look back at these movies-cartoons

  • Ozzy sounds like Gabumon!

  • Ozzy's voice is Lorenzo Music the voice for Garfield the Cat and Tummi Gummi of Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears.

  • I went years thinking that this movie was a dream. None of my friends at the time heard of it, and most thought I was kidding. A few years ago one of my friends and I were talking about old moves and this one came up. We were both glad to find someone else who had actually seen it.

Many thanks for posting this! I now have proof to show those friends who thought I was joking.

  • Dude, I had that for a loooooong time, too. Growing up no one had heard of this except for me. I FINALLY met someone that proved I didn't make this up & that I wasn't crazy.

I used to watch this all...the....time. Must rip from youtube...

  • Ditto...trying to describe this to people without remembering the name--"Talking colorful dogs that travel to different universes!" usually results in me being called a druggie, for some odd reason. "No! I swear! It was real movie! I can't remember the name of it...."

  • Oh yeah.. people thought I was nuts. I tried explaining it the same way, but also added that the dos has something like magical dandruff that made the bed fly. yeah that got some weird looks. But its true!

  • Many thanx 4 posting this, I always saw half of it on my tape when I was a kid and was upset, that the whole movie wasn't recorded :)

  • Holy crap, I'm so happy I decided to google old disney channel movies! I've been looking for this movie for so long, but I couldnt remember the name for the life of me. =] This is just awesome. XD

  • Did you watch Cinderella when you were little? Snow White? 101 Dalmations? If so, you might be a little old...

  • c'mon! I am just 26 (er.. almost 27) great cartoon anyway!!

  • @SuperGrover830 Ir you were born in 1986 you'd probably know how to spell correctly.

  • @SuperGrover830 Maybe you're just a little young...

  • @SuperGrover830 - The Beastie Boys are a little old (their first album came out in 86, best they'd ever been who doesn't remember "Fight For Your Right To Party?") The Beatles are a little old, also mostly dead except for Ringo. Ozzy Osbourne is so old, the man can barely speak understandable english. Sesame Street eh? The show first started in 1969, most of the original cast are either retired or dead. You sure like alotta stuff by either dead or old folks.

  • This movie was awesome!! Had it taped and it broke. *tear*

  • OMG!!! THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS UP!

  • I think I remember this...

  • My cousin had this on a tape with Pee Wee's Playhouse! Took a chance lookin for it on Youtube! Thanks for the post, i used to watch it all the time.

  • We taped this off TV and I watched it over and over when I was a child. This video reminds me of how much I hate being an adult.

  • I havent seen this movie since i was ten. Thank you so much for posting.

  • WOW I NEVER GOT TO SEE THE ENDING OF THIS

  • we only had part of it. twas on the tape with the labyrinth. CLASSIC!!!

My heart smiles listening to it!

  • yay, fluppy dogs, i loved this so much when i was little!

  • FLUPPY DOGS!! oooh, how i loved this movie when i was a young kid! LOOVED!! my parents even taped it off tv for me, and i probably watched it at least a dozen times. i know i still have it at my parents house, but who has a vcr these days? :-p thanks so much for posting!!

  • wow i wasnt even born when this cartoon was in tv

    my D.O.B 20th/oct/1988

  • i love fluppy dogs! its a childhood pleasure!

  • i never got to see it T-T

  • I used to watch this over and over again too! I was born in 1981 so I guess I was about 5 or something when it first aired. I had the stuffed fluppy dogs too.

  • I loved this when I was little!! I would watch my tape over and over again!

I had almost forgotten about it, but I always remember, "Adventure Jamie! Adventure!!"

  • I remember the day my mom recorded this for me, when i was a kid! I remember most of the commercials too!

  • omg I LOVED this cartoon when i was a baby!!! I named my dog Tippy

  • Wow...way back play back! Awesome post!

  • This is like Sliders! Cept 15 or so years earlier, animated and with Fluppy Dogs lol. Thanks for this I haven't watched this in forever

  • Ah. I love this movie so very much. Thank you ever so much for making it available in some capacity. Although... to me its not quite right because it lacks the home movies we had on the tape before we recorded it. XD

  • Wow, I'm glad to see a lot of people liked this special as much as I did. I watched a crappy VHS of this show that I taped when I was little and I watched it like twice a day. Thanks for posting it! The nostalgia is really something.
