One individual stated it sounded awful, even after professional set-up. The nut is too high, and your professional set-up didn't adjust it. I went through 3 set-ups before someone corrected this problem. After that, the guitar was far better, aside fromthe humidity problem I mentioned in my other post. That too went away with time.

Bought one of these based on this review. Had it professionally set up and sent to me. Action was terrible and the B string had a "thud" sound even when it wasn't fretted. Sent it back and had it set up again... same problem. Set it up myself, found wooden bridge pins would crumble when you removed them. I returned it. Beautiful guitar, but the worst playing, sounding and most overrated guitar I've ever played. Lesson learned? Never believe a review from a guy with a Lloyd Christmas haircut!

@demodoc72 ...after playing the guitar for a period of two weeks the guitar developed a crack along the front seam of the guitar. The crack was fixed by adding some glue to the seam and so far the glue has held up.

I have the MV-EC 45 and it sounds great and although I am learning how to play the guitar I just love the sound.

Am looking at this guitar for bluegrass. Have a couple of a/e's (Alvarez, Washburn) but I want a "boom box" flat top that will last.. Considering MM, Blueridge, and RK. My budget tops around $400. Just a working stiff. Any advice more than welcome.

@BJ1047 Go buy a cheaper Martin or save about 200- 250 more and buy a Blueridge Br-160. You can buy a Blueridge Br-60 for about 399- 450. If I was buying i'd save for a Br-160. 600-745 price range
