I saw " jay and the Americans" last night at bb kings, NYC. And I saw Jay Black last year with his band. There is no doubt that Jay black has a better show and much better band. Last nights show was like watching karaoke.
i cant stand when the artist makes the audiance sing, i dindt come to the show to here the effin, audiance sing, takes away from the song so much!@ ruins it for me, arghhhhhh

Has a hell of a pop music resume', and while you may like the sound of Jay3 the best..and I've seen where the NEW Americans while in concert NEVER try to influence/lie that Jay3 was a part of the hits (commendable) they will NEVER have the same glow, stature, relevance that Jay Black does. It's like going to an Elvis convention..and seeing all the "Elvis's" there.. Ain't the same buddy, ain't the same.

Jay And The Americans are wonderful live band. I have seen them five times and they get better every show. I am going to see JATA at BB Kings in NYC on Saturday, July 26th. WCBS FM 101 is presenting the show and DJ Joe Causi will be there too.
I honestly think that this is a pretty good performance. Jay had the HIGH pitch..and this isn't bad. Hell, I wanna hear/see the real guy do the real hit, not someone who bought a name.
Is it as good as he did it many years ago? Hell no! Point is this, it's enjoyable, it's nostalgia..and BETTER than anything..IT'S THE REAL GUY ON THE RECORD!
Anything else may as well be ANY cover band in any crappy beer dive off the road in Anytown, USA.

Jay Reinecke is the best Jay ever. And he sings with three original members of Jay And The Americans (Sandy, Marty & Howie). None of them are in this video. Only Jay Black.

Reinecke is just a copy of a young David Blatt. His voice is ok. 20 yrs in age makes a big difference put a 20 yr old David with a 20 yr old Reinecke.
Reinecke has been a professional singer for last 30 years. What are you talking? 20 yr old? Blatt is 70 and Reinecke is 50. Is This what you mean? They are both good singers. Jay And The Americans are on tour all over the US & Canada. Go see them.
i would guess he is in mid 60s.he was making the audience part of the show.that's entertainment. some singers have beautiful voices but they don't kmow how to entertain.

larry, you seem to forget ,this chap had one of the greatest voices going when he was younger, now he's in his 70s he can still hold a tune but not as good maybe, but we should still admire him for his contribution to the music industry, not ridicule him as he is now, he maybe in his 70s, but he still has a great fan club, best wishes.
This is a great quality video and clear as a bell. But, Jay is NOT singing. Hes asking the audience to sing. How can you say what a voice. You got to me kidding. Sad.

Jay is 70 now, and he still sings damn good for his age.
Of course the new "Jay" with the Americans today can sing a bit better...He's almost 20 years younger.
Still, it's nice to see the real voice behind those hits still out there performing.
