  • i had a joe90 annual as a kid. if im ever trapped in a car underwater i know exactly what to do!

  • I've given it some thought. I'm going in...

  • When I was young, between 7 to 10 yrs old, I was wearing glasses and the other kids would call me "Joe 90" to make fun of me.

  • I'm suprised no current DJs/rappers have samples this song (not that I want them to) but would be interested to see what they could create that would be a so call hit.

  • I dont like this interpretation, lacks of the powerful percusion that have in the original tv theme.

  • Vote me for president and it'll be the first thing back on your screens

  • I've got this record it's blue,bright blue

  • @TheDizzydiana i bet its worth a fortune now!!!!!

  • @TheDizzydiana keep hold and watch the monry grow from what i believe its worth quite a bit

  • @MrGedhat Ok,it's in the loft.I threw some in the bin one was we will rock you by queen.

  • British TV shows were the BEST

  • @MyMerlin1 Gerry Anderson is King!

  • The kid who looked like him in my school has viewed this vid.

  • :D

  • I am now 50 and this music still gives me shivers, bloody great

  • @asnuautoparts - Yeah, I know. Me, too ! But I did love the show. :-)

  • Best programme intro everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...!!

  • I am 45 now and this show is among my earliest memories of TV. No wonder I failed at school. Spent most of my time staring out the window dream of being a child secret agent! Great show!!

  • Every time I hear this theme I wanna stick my lava lamps on and dance around the room in my grooviest flowery shirt.

  • A huge influence on indiepop band Trixie's Big Red Motorbike.

  • I want to be a kid spy!

  • I've seen FUCKING biblical epics starring Heston, Mature, etc with shorter bastard intros!! Great show though. Wish i had that four eyed little cunts registration no!!

  • I am looking for the name of a TV programme or film shown on British TV 1968- 1974 with... A dress in a tall glass case in a rear corner of a Victorian old ladies bedroom , she is sitting on a chaise lounge in the foreground, and warns a young girl who is admiring the dress, at the back of the room, on the facing left "not to open the case" .

But the girl does when the air rushes inside in a of basic technique of film animation /time frame - the dress dramatically and rapidly falls to pieces!!

  • Sit down Joe, I am going to give you the brain pattern of Charles Manson....

Ok Dad , it wont fuck my head up will it?

No son , I have a beard , trust me........

  • God I loved this tv show as a kid...

If it was on now I would still watch it, I always wanted the car and the brief case but I couldnt be done with all the sitting in a chair with all that spinning goin on cos I would defo spew!!

  • How bloody brilliant is that music? My God, that music is soooo coool!!! I love it! :)))

  • love it love it. I am chilling watching all my childhood fav shows of the 70's

  • Brilliant show when i was growing up

  • brilliant program as a kid brilliant

  • Perfection

  • just think of it as if ya pissed or been sick

  • just think of it as if ya pissed

  • Like a scaled down puppet version of Michael Caine only with scaled up screen presence and not as wooden.

  • Joe 89 walked off the set, when he was told each episode contains 'mild peril'

  • WOAHHHH... this brings back some serious memories :)

  • THE MOST SPECIAL AGENT .....in your face james bond.!!!!

  • Should have gone to SpecSavers !

  • A lot of these shows have definite movie potential.

  • @wardragonprime Its probably best not to, look at Thunderbirds movie, just awful

  • What a pity Spielberg dropped the Joe 90 movie script and went for the Tintin movie franchise revival instead.

  • @TheBritishEngineer I totally agree with you, they can't physically make shows like that anymore, Gerry, and Sylvia anderson used to make kids tv, for about £500 per 20 mins, just look at Four feather falls. What they did, with the budget they had, was remarkable, Stingray, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, no one could do that nowadays, go, go brits. Wasn't Supercar one of theirs too. Poo poo yanks, supermarionation, yay!!!! Why didn't you think it first !!!!

  • OH GOD NOT MARIONETTES

  • i loved this as a kid..good post

  • Ah they dont make shows like that anymore... they could not make shows like that anymore imagine trying to get funding forn 50 min TV slot about an 8 year old with a an automatic and silencer in his schoolbag... The Nanny State would have you banged up in an instant.. YES people of Britain fill your little minds with X Factor and Ballroom Dancing its crap but its safe crap...

  • Wow!! It brings me back to my younger days!!!!

  • Crikey, I'd forgotten how much I wanted Joe 90's snazzy briefcase, with those hidden compartments behind the school stuff. In fact, I STILL want one.

  • Joe 90 made national Health specs cool.............Thata what my mum told my brother at the time!....................She was right.

  • It was great being a kid inthe 70's

  • If only science went down this path. Fuck CPU's I want tape recorded mind whisks.

  • who is using the wobble board at the beggining.. its a plastic copy of the origional and its shite..

  • I've never even heard of this show. I was told the Super Putty title screen music was an arrangement of this tune, so I had to look it up. =^p It totally sounds like it!

    LOL!!! X^D

  • They don't get any better!

  • omg, thats me !

  • This was my nickname (one of of them) at school - I was blonde and had hornrimmed glasses.

  • Now i know why when james may was standing infront of the fan in the relient robin episode for top gear, they started this theme.lol

  • Today, is the first time I hear this in 30 years ! I used to watch it when I was a kid, and humm the song in the shower...

Now I'm back, can't stop humming it...

    Many thanks for posting !!!

  • what 1970's crap

  • thunderbirds and scarlett were better,, the theme music is ace though

  • Shame about the quality .

  • This theme tune is groovy.

  • kids these days still call other kids who where spectacles "Joe" but they dont know where it all stems from.........!!!!!

  • I wanna be a kid back in the 70's!!

  • I was, it was great.....

  • @hineyguitar

Eh so was I too...I am assuming you are an Aussie. If so, I thought I should mention as a kid growing up in Africa in the 70'S, I remember them showing a few Aussie programs such as Skippy and The Rovers. I loved the Rovers especially!

  • @teewoods 70's ?!? No way! This was 1968. Great time to be a kid.

  • @DubhghlasMcQ He probably meant the reruns in the 70's.

  • @teewoods 70's? This was the 60's.

  • @petemcclelland100 possibly the 60's though any child of the 70's (such as me) will be familiar with this too...

  • @teewoods I WAS a kid back in the 70's. and believe me, it was fabulous!!!! ;)

  • @teewoods .....I still am !

  • i have often thought about sitting in a huge egg whisk and re creating this show

  • Banana Splits.

  • I remember the show, but had completely forgotten the music. A couple years back, I composed something on guitar....guess what?

I guess I did remember it after all. LOL

  • fuck me, i thought i'd made the double deckers up! no one has heard of them until now. blinding!

  • what about hr puffinstuff

  • I thought "The Double Deckers" had been nothing more than a bad dream!

  • i kow how you feel - i had the same eperience with time slip - though it was just a dream - but found it on youtube and then visited the airfild where it was filmed - and the hole in the fence where they go forward in time was still there - how surreal is that!!

  • care free saturday mornings watching double deckers and then dr who with the sea monsters - great memories

  • ahh yes, heaven

  • dont forget tiswas

  • dont forget batman and the lone ranmger

  • same here

  • 0:00 - 2:14 was the best part.

  • me too.......is it available for ring tones?

  • yes it is. I had it :)

  • I loved the theme back then. I think i would get this on my phone ringer. Time to do some edits

  • I don't know if anyone else has ever realized that Gerry Anderson was obviously a Len Deighton fan, as parts of the opening sequence of JOE 90 are mimicked from the commencement of THE BILLION DOLLAR BRAIN, and beginning of CAPTAIN SCARLET is reminiscent to the final scene in THE IPCRESS FILE when Harry Palmer (Michael Caine) shoots Dalby (Nigel Green).

    PR

  • i remember at school if you wore glasses you were called joe 90

  • I was that kid!!

  • Fantastic! Thank you so much for reminding me of the art and class of the shows of my youth.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • The main theme for Joe 90 is pure class, but the end theme is just sublime - like the end theme for The Sweeney.

They don't write em like this anymore, sadly.

  • oh bring me back there out of all this grown up stuff i have to do now...only joking but what great shows we had ehh lad

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Great, too young to understand it, but used to love the opening music. Used to get dizzy .....

  • Greetings.

I haven't heard this for years!
