Also, It's not supposed to be discrete or hidden. It's for leaving the house in case of an emergency that already has all your supplies ready to leave.
Does it turn out to be heavy when completely filled with the essentials you stated or is it relatively light? Also, if you needed to move fast would you leave this behind?
When you need to move fast you drop everything besides weapons and ammo.
