@ilovedoom3 No, Valve didn't do it. HL Source is just exact original HL ported to Source engine, but maps, models, everything is the same. Black Mesa Source will be the total remake, just like Classic Doom 3.

the only thing that missing in doom is mysteries that break ur brain even when u finished the game and make u think about stuff hl1 & 2 (gman who is he? what is he? why did they boosted the laser thingy to 105% power? what happend betwin HL1 and 2? what happend to ravenholm)

@Masterlink981 Dude, calm down. I'm talking specifically about the newer installments of Doom and Wolfenstein. Neither Doom 3 nor the 2009 version of Wolfenstein(a game widely panned by critics) can hold a candle to Half-Life 2.

I still regularly play the older Doom and Wolfenstein games, and I know full well what their contribution to the FPS genre were.
