Lol I agree with mark. Plus he never uses the same word to describe a costume, and he used poofy before. Also I think it's funny that a simple hat can hide him from everyone knowing who he is.
i think it was because he looked down at his crotch too long when he changed into the costume. he obviously spreads his legs and glares down amidst his groinal region. truly perverse rotten robbie is, indeed!
Has to be the line "too puffy" as it could be misconstrued that he's saying the item of clothing is "very homosexual" - I think there's been a few issues at the BBC about things being misconstrued so they're probably paranoid about everything now. However, I've noticed that Nick Jr in the UK don't remove this scene.
@Floweryapron that is so funny...looks like we were both talking about the same thing all along! Thank you for telling me. Language is a wonderful thing, and Ilike learning how one thing in one language is something totally different in another.
Agreeing on bellow comments. However, my 5 ys old son watches CBeebies since he was 10 months old (Teletubbies, Tikkabilla, Balamory, etc) they have plenty of constructive programs, really a well spent time on TV/PC while mommy is preparing dinner :-)
I think you'll find it was removed due to "too poofy" rather than "too muffy". The word "poof" is pretty much taboo anywhere in the English-speaking world now.
CBeebies is the children's channel on BBC. Almost certainly the BBC didn't like the words "poofy", which means effiminate and/or homosexual in the UK, and "fart". Muffy doesn't mean anything in the UK (although "muff" is sometimes used for a women's pubic region, a word borrowed from the USA).
I think actually it's the 4th one: where he says too poofy. I live in england and poofy or a poof means someone who is gay. Plus since it's a womans dress...he would look gay in it XD
Muffy really isn't that much of a derogatory term...muff is, but not muffy...plus Arthur (another american programme on CBBC) has a character called muffy....and that wasn't banned
They probably removed it because Robbie owns more drag costumes than RuPaul. We just only get to see him in one of them- and that one is when he's pulling his Ms Doubtfire on the citizens of LazyTown.

to be fair, you haven't got MUCH of a sense of humour, as you seem to be taking completely seriously the comments on a clip from a children's TV program.....
Lazytown is the most politically correct childrens show I have ever seen. It could be called the total reverse of old school Sesame Street, where you see the Cookie Monster eat cookies. Lazytown would totally support the Cookie Monster calling cookies a "sometimes" food.
Not allowed to show this, because it uses the word "poofey", which is used entirely in context.
But they allow Storymakers to be presented entirely by black people which means that, given that black people make up less than 10% of the population, the people who made Storymakers have actively recruited black-only staff to present it, which is blatant racial discrimination.
He said 'poofy' not 'poof'. Understandable if he did say 'poof' but he didn't. The context he was using the word poofy refers to the fact that the dress was big, fluffy/puffy.
A Poofy is actually a shower sponge, so you can see where the description comes from. Don't know what it is, go look it up, or use one.
If you're too immature and pathetic to argue about the fact that he didn't used a word that you all think he did, LISTEN. Don't believe me, go look it up.

The problem was with the word 'muffy' which apparently is a tongue-in-cheek reference to a cheap woman or whore. I dunno since I'm not in the UK. In any event, the word has no offensive meaning here in the states.
He says Too "Puffy" when walking past the very obviously womanly-drss, but that sounds a lot like "Buftie" Which in the UK means "Homosexual." I can see how it can be mis-heard and why they'd censor it.
buftie? hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha, yeh ive seen kids shoutin tht down the street at gay ppl, im pretty sure puffy is more commonly seen as meaning gay...u r an idiot

I think they have mistook the 'too pouffy' description for 'too poofy' which is derogatory term.
pouf (pf)
n.
1. A woman's hairstyle popular in the 18th century, characterized by high rolled puffs.
2. A part of a garment, such as a dress, that is gathered into a puff.
pouffy adj.

Muffy XD.
The word 'Muff' is a slang word for a vagina.
withaddedmental 3 years ago
You just, you just had to say it. XD
Would any on like some Bud Light?

The problem was with the word 'muffy' which apparently is a tongue-in-cheek reference to a cheap woman or whore. I dunno since I'm not in the UK. In any event, the word has no offensive meaning here in the states.
And that's Fordmil Meansbad, XD

He says Too "Puffy" when walking past the very obviously womanly-drss, but that sounds a lot like "Buftie" Which in the UK means "Homosexual." I can see how it can be mis-heard and why they'd censor it.
That is my best guess, I may be wrong.
magog1138 3 years ago
You are wrong. Buftie has no meaning.
