  • OMG!!smooth LANDING

  • Air Trash

  • How'd u get in tho the cockpit???

  • 9 ppl got insulted by the gpws RETARDDD !

  • Emirates...amirite?

  • Wat does "recharge" mean?

  • @cau10597 it's "retard" and it means retard the throtal to idle. hope that helped

  • @jman8489 thanks, that did help a little.

  • A monkey could fly the Airbus. They are incredibly easy to fly. I still like my Boeing!!!

  • Haha it sees retard

  • very nice Video, thanks for sharing!

  • my God beautiful landing!!!

  • Retard means idle nothing else

  • Guy in the jump seat is cute!

  • 50, 40, 30, RETARD, 20, 10...

  • all airbuses have a joystick.... which i dont like=) i prefer yoke and airbuses GPWS has a slight french accent lol

  • @Mac4ever101 A300 and A310 have yoke.

  • @Pvjinflight i know i was talking about the newer models not the old ones like A300 and A310... and actually i like the joystick but its on the left side and i dont think i can fly using my left hand :) i love the fly-by-wire system its safer! you dont need to worry about exceeding the limits

  • @Mac4ever101: can you drive your car wheel with left hand? how about with your right hand? No difference right? It the same with Airbus and the stick ;)

  • @kdes yeah you're right... on a boeing you would still hold the yoke with your left hand because you would be holding the throttle lever with your right hand (when landing)... but i just like the feeling of the yoke :) joystick feels...umm...un-realistic... as i said before i do love the fly-by-wire but sometimes you just want your plane to be more responsive (especially on crosswind landings).... because airbus is trying to make you feel the same when flying an A319 or an A380

  • @Mac4ever101: Actually I totally disagree. Flying an A319 is much different than flying a bigger jetliner like A380. The controls may be similar but the flying is not, believe me :) And the fly-by-wire system is specific designed to get the most responsiveness and accuracy out of the aircraft maneuvers, precisely required in difficult weather landings.

  • 100 above is like the same verbal call out a pilot wil hear in a boeing plane except in a boeing the call out is "approaching minimums".it is letting the pilot know that they are 100 feet above the minimum altitude where they must make a decision to land or go around.also all airbus aircraft have a side stick. . or a yoke :P

  • i love the voice of those planes

  • buteful birld i love a346

  • a345 :)

  • How come you dudes can record this shit in the cockpit with cameras and mobile phones yet we have to turn all our electronic devices off?

  • Its called airplane mode switches your antenna off and you use the phone as a video camera or walkman

  • @NisMopar06

Electronic devices are shut off for possible interference in instrument approaches. This was a visual approach so didn't matter if the cellphones messed up the ILS or any other nav equipment.

Its better to be safe and have everyone shut the electronic devices down incase they do have to come down IFR!!

  • @zahir82 absolutely correct :)

    Excepct cremembers, right ?

  • Question please : How do you manage to get into the Cockpit with the Pilot and the Copilot?

  • connections :) usually when know very well the pilots you would get in the cockpit for takeoffs and landings.

  • landing stage :at what hieght does the captain pull the nose up? which is bigger take off speed or landing speed?how this SOP could get apermition to set in the cockpit?in each time i ask for that ,they refuse & start questioning me!!!

  • Hey, at 0:33 isn't it a handphone? U must turn off handphone on the plane, right?

  • ever heard of a headset to here atc

  • i can see my house from there! no, im not kidding.

  • retard means bring ur engines to idle

cuz thats like the threshold or some shit like that

  • ur replying to the wrong comment

  • does the cockpit say retard? What does that mean?

  • the GPWS system is telling the pilot flying to "retard the throttles" in otherwords reduce power for the touch down.

  • put the engine at idle position.

  • WOW! Five! That was a great landing. Congratulations, I liked the video.

  • i would love to fly for american on the tripple 7 one day , but a more realistic goal might be virgin atlantic.

  • Virgin's selection process is one of the hardest in the industry! Behind Cathay and maybe Emirites.

  • it's Emirates not Emirites :p

  • Nice

  • Are you going to a university or are you just building up flight hours and getting an education on the side.

  • im looking to fly with singapore or qantas

  • Usually you don't start out with a prestigous airline like singapore, you get your hours built up with low cost airlines and then you would transfer your airline flight hours to a better quality airline, I want to start to fly for Jetblue and then I would eventually like to fly with Emirates, but hey I'll take what I can get.

  • yer people are lucky enough just to get into a airline these day hay.....

but singapore or emirates are my goal airlines

  • True,

My goal is the same, flying for Emirates one day, they get payed so much

  • Good luck with yours too, now I just gotta find a way to pay for it, probably student loans, etc.

  • I am still in highschool but working on my private license but I plan to go to Embry Riddle in daytona, one of my Jetblue pilot friends went there.

  • Nice, what airline are you hoping to work for, or does it not matter. Me personally, Jetblue to start out with.

  • Are you going through for an airline pilot?

  • nice capture I love cockpit videos

  • Yup- it's me. Who's this?

  • Good man!!!

  • lol....A340 calls him a RETARD..... jk

  • I tought you were meant to be a NG pilot.....so you say on another video i have watched.....I dont think a 737NG pilot would find "RETARD" funny holy shit grow up..

  • Called having a sense of humour dude....if you doubt I fly NG's, then email me on here, and you can add me to facebook.....

  • I get called a retard everyday....sometimes by the airbus, sometimes by my friends!! and if thats you Vin, he does fly an NG...

  • excellent, thank you very much! are you a pilot?

  • what is the cockpit callout 100above? does that mean that the aircraft is 100ft above the ideal glide slope? thanks!

  • wow, silent touch down

  • So jealous. Wish I had the op to be the in cockpit of this type of aircraft.

  • Emirates is the best :)

  • Can someone please explain to me what "Minimums" are? I play FS2004 hoping to be a pilot soon, and I always here 500, 400, Minimums, 200, 100, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10. I looked online and the only thing I found was whatever spped you are at when it says Minimums is the minimum speed for that landing. Is this true? Thanks!

  • it's etihad airways

  • Nope, its emirates.

  • parabens de um brasileiro congratulation

  • you know the best thing about the sidestick? you got a place to put down your meal!

  • Which airline is this?

  • I think it's Emirates, being the only airline I know that flies to Sydney using A340-500 . . .

  • i think it could also be singapure airlines

  • It is Emirates, see the guy who smiles, with the blue shirt that is their uniform, and cream trousers

  • Also Etihad Airways use the A340-500 to fly to sydney.

  • Yes, it is emirates, but etihad also uses there A345s to sydney

  • Its emirates.

  • Im jealous, I'd love to ride in the cockpit of an EK A345 as she was doing the 16R approach into Sydney. Thanks for sharing the vid, awesome work

  • Pasoplaya.....many pilots prefer the sidestick .... more space...and other things...

  • ceeping*

  • what is so hate about the airbus is the joystick its so stupid making a joystick instead of ckeepong the yoke like the boeing

  • There's more than one way to control an aircraft. Just because Airbus prefer the sidestick doesnt mean its any less safe. And btw, Airbus used yokes in their A300s and A310s before making the switch to side sticks.

  • yeah i know but switch to side sticks is just not good

  • How so? Name one disadvantage of side sticks

  • not comfortable to controle such a big plane it isnt a jet fighter to controle it like that

  • I havent heard any complaints from the Airbus pilots I've spoken to about side stick vs control column. Yes side sticks are more common in fighters than in commercial aircraft but Airbus still seem to be doing pretty well with their side stick. The only complaint I've heard from pilots is that you need to correct the roll because the aircraft doesnt auto level itself after entering a bank.

  • yes ur right somw pilots like side sticks i dont have any problem with that but normal yokes are better coz they can use to hands and its in front of them but in side stick its kind of funny and it dosent suit such a big plane so i think normal yokes are better.

  • Okay I'll respect your opinion on this matter. I think that either control system works, both have their advantages and disadvantages though.

  • yeah lol. u know what i am thinking about i think AIRBUS should make a new plane with side sticks and yokes but i respect ur opinion to thanx fore a nice debate my friend.

  • my cousin is the airforce and his flown the a340-500 simulator and he found it easier than the yoke i have also flown the 737-800 simulator and the yoke is good but i want to know how the stick is

  • A340-600 rules! Best airplane ever! What airlines was that?`

    kai

  • Its an A340-500. Emirates from Christchurch, layover in Sydney before continuing on to Dubai later

  • Oh ok... Thanks ;-)... A340-600 and -500 RULEZ ;-) LOVE THE LCD displays and the ROLLS ROYCE TRENT 500 ENGINES.

  • What the hell is CHC?

  • what airline was it and where you one of the pilots

  • verry nice!!! were you one of the pilots?

  • Must be EK, who else would fly an A345 between CHC and SYD?

  • chc would be christchurch, new zealand. it says it was a short hop.

  • Only EK. Though they use the 777-300ER on the route as well

  • Is this airline Emirates?? Very nice landing and extremly beautiful aircraft. The A340 rules!!!
