i downloaded and installed and when i went to play it said master.dat isnt installed. so i downloaded master.dat and i still have the same problem help pls??????? and by the way i have a copy of fallout 2.

@TheThyller hahaha come on. u need original f2 instaled. next go to fonline web site or google it and download it. press update and play.

@TheThyller you need an authentic copy of fallout 2. after that its as simple as making a copy of the folder on your hard drive. rename it and then you can manipulate the file anyway you want without messing up the original. that way if you make a mistake you can get rid of it and start over

how come when i log in 2238 server the menu backround looks like the TLA backround. And when i try to log in with my character it only gets to *authentication succesfull* and it goes back to the menu screen. what happend?

Yes, you need master.dat and critter.dat files from Fallout 2.

You have to change the net options (game server) in the FonlineConfig to host : 94.103.87.42 port: 2238

And then you are all set.

woo hoo!! i finally got fonline! but im in a russian server and people only speak russian!! how do i change this??

Place those files in the Fonline folder.. Or run the config tool and locate them.

It should work.

Oh.. And run a update tool before playing.

The game must be up to date to login.

ok so i downloaded the new client for Fonline right. And after i downloaded it i downloaded the master Dat. file and critter Dat. After that i try to start the game but it saids it could not find the master Dat file.

what happend??

It's a FREE game called Fonline.

It's a fan made game with the engine written from the scratch. It's just usin fallout 2 .dat files.

The game world is Fallout and Fallout 2 combined into one.

It's a really great game, IT's the closest attempt to make a Fallout MMO ever!

The Official Fallout MMORPG is in the development.. I guess.. But it wil be probably with a monthly fee so I'm gonna stick to this game cause it's great! Fonline is in it's last stages of beta so it's almost a complete game.

Wait, So the only way to play fonline is downloading it into your folder? I thought they would have this thing were they just sell a fallout online thing in stores?

Are you sure that Master.dat is in the Fonline dir? And also.. You have to download a critter.dat. all included on the website.

Then just copy them into the game folder and play.. Oh.. And don't forget to update the game!

I downloaded FOnline, and then downloaded MASTER.DAT since I don't have the Fallout 2, and I tried to play it but it says "MASTER.DAT not found" And help?

It looks like a great game, since I'm a fan of the Fallout series, and I really want to play the game.
