Depends on what weapons you're talking about. If you're talking about machetes, then you're the one who is ignorant, because it's an agricultural tool and they wouldn't be able to survive without it. If your talking about firearms, well, the point is moot, because they use machetes quite a bit in their civil wars.

Sir, you've misunderstood the specifics of my statement. I did not say they were in that condition due to not having natural resources. I said it is the fact that outside (western) countries usurp the resources that they have. In order to usurp a nations resources you must 1st destabilize its government and population. This is achieved via embargos, giving military backing to dissatisfied demographics which creates rebels & thus civil war, and implementing puppet leaders who can be bought off...

They due a pretty food job of detailing the connection between western occupation and usurping of resources with the condition of many of the worlds most desperate 3rd world countries. As far as Africans never being able to mine, refine, and manufacture things using their resources. Both those African/black civilizations (Kushite/Indus) showed a great deal of ability in mining refining, manufacturing, and trading of resources.
