I haven't had much sake, but I'm drinking some tonight, and I definitely enjoyed listening to you guys. I learned a lot..it was great.

Koikinayatsu "Lady Chic" Junmai Genshu Sake

Im start brewing sake I think you should try it to improve your massive knowlege on the subjet I'm learning so much :)

I actually had a sudden desire to learn and taste as much as I can about sake truly from watching this video. I also might add I bought my first sake set 2 days ago and ran across this video from shopping sake social for my first bottle to fill my new set. Kudos to both and I look forward to a long and wonderful adventure!

Hmm the epiphany happened for me when i first tasted Arabic food, forgot the name , it was like rice wrapped in this leaf and then soaked in tons of vinegar and other sour stuff. When i first put that thing into my mouth all the really strong sour flavors hit me, no it gave me an uppercut to the face and i immediately felt so awake and saying to myself " Jesus Christ , what was that !" then i went to get another one , and another one , and another......

Please import Japanese nouveau white wines. They are cheap in Japan, but really great! Potential huge hit in the U.S. too.

Also, to answer Beau's question, absinthe would be that drink for me. It was years ago when the first premium French brands were finally being released years after the ban had been lifted in Europe. I of course tried it initially for the hype, but when I finally had a chance to realize just how wonderful a quality absinthe could be, all that hype just fell away and from that moment on I had a passion like no other. I have since dedicated thousands of hours to educating others about absinthe.

Great episode! I also do the same method to test aroma as Beau when I review absinthe. It does look a little funny though, so I don't use that method in front of guests.:)

That's quite a question to answer in 500 characters. It's funny because the first alcohol I ever had was a shitty mass produced American beer and I thought all alcohol must suck. Later I had some brandies and scotches and wasn't impressed. Then I found Moscato D'Asti and Gewürtztraminer and was floored. After that I became obsessed with white wines, and with that beachead I branched out to sake and mead. I think if anything I've learned not to discount anything from a first impression.

@TheElectricTurtle I LOVE Asti, even when it was Ricardonna, but I am doing a course about almost all things alcoholic, so I just finished trying a few beers, especially ales because NZ has more lagers and Pilsners than ales. I wanted to try sake now, but I think they could be too expensive by the glass.
