I saw this movie because I love and respect Bryan Singer - talented director. "Valkyrie" was ok but I didn't feel the atmosphere of that period in our history. "Enemy at the Gates" (2001) and "Black Book" (2006) were much better films. I actually enjoyed Tom Cruise's performance but he did not take the lead as strongly as he should have. His non-German accent was not an issue it was the strength that he displayed in his performance that was disappointing to many. The supporting cast was superb

Rommel was in on it. Some, even though no evidence to support it, thought Himmler ignored the Plot hoping to replace Hitler and make peace with America so the Soviets wouldn't destroy them. Had Gen. Fromm supported the Plot, it would have succeeded.

actually I like th HD trailer more... but combining three trailers into one long one makes things more diverse too... I watched the movie... and I couldn't bear to see the final execution part... poor hero...

Afterwards, Hitler had him dug up, stripped of his medals and rank and buried. Hitler showed what a despicable person he was to one of the smartest of his advisors. Hitler cursed even Heydrich at his gravesite. Stauffenberg was a Count and had a long history of military geniuses in his family.

Funny, I'm Jewish and loved the movie.
The conspirators wanted to free the concentration camps after killing Hitler. No evidence exists but some thought Himmer, the Reichsfurer, knew about the plot.

I was just reading the info on the right you certainly know your stuff. Stauffenburgs proper name was about 16 or so names long wasnt it? and he could trace his swabian arisocratic lineage back to 1200s i think. If you know any other information regarding him then plz let me know as I only know sketchy things about him like iv mentioned above. Cheers ,D ;)

I cant wait to watch this it looks superb Im a ww2 enthusiast and the last good film I watched on the subject was "Downfall" I reckon they should have used the actor who played Hitler in that film in this as he was his double ! hey supergirl do you know where I can download Valkyrie for free? much appreciated if you could point me in right direction, and cheers for putting the trailer up ;)
