  • Hickok, I enjoy you’re insightful videos more than any others. As a retired Phila. cop, I’ve carried concealed for more than 40 years, and I very much prefer the 10 o’clock IWB position to the 4 o’clock position you favor. The 10 o’clock allows (for me) less discomfort and quicker access, whether wearing an outer coat or an open shirt. I also always feel as though the gun is “in front” where I could see anyone trying to grab it, as opposed to “in back” of me where I can’t “see” it. Make sense?

  • best holster vid i have ever seen. i have only herd great things

about the cross breed style holster. that will be my next purchase!

  • Illinois really needs to allow concealed carry. The best I can do is a fanny pack (yeah right) or a backpack carry where I still have to load the magazine. *shrug*

  • Thank you so much... I have been wearing OWB... but you've got me really thinking now about IWB

  • More great tips and nice sound fx at the end

  • Another nice Crossbred type is the Maxtuck by White Hat Holsters. A little cheaper that the Crossbred & same type quality. They also have interchangeable kydex....

  • hey hickkok45 i where a size 42 jean do u think i may need to go a lil bigger

  • just curious, with carrying any firearm in the U.S, concealed or not, are you allowed to have a round in the chamber?

  • @Lemon0Tart Yes..at least here in Arizona. It does you no good to not be ready if needed. It could mean a matter of life or death.

  • @Lemon0Tart If you have your CCW then you can carry how you want, even here in anti-gun NY. :)

  • "Don't wanna startle somebody at Kroeger." hahaha. Oh hickok. You're the best.

  • @forsaken8181 lol. no man they are pretty ugly. Well, compared to other guns or the same class

  • Why did you sell your Walther PPS? Was there something about it you didn't like?

Thanks for the video, really helpful info!

  • Cheap little IWB Uncle Mikes holster and Smith & Wesson J frames work for me!

  • The issue of carrying extra magazines is indeed a personal one. However, the overwhelming number of gunfights are over in seconds so to me it seems like the odds against carrying them is pretty mute. I carry M&P 40 compact with 10 rounds.

  • What kind and where did you get your "ears"? I am a new shooter and i need some ears that i don't have to rent from the range. I really dislike the earmuff type of ears because of the glasses i wear. Is there different decibel types to consider while on the range? What would you recommend for a new shooter?

  • Is it legal in US to carry a semi 12 gauge for self defense ?:P

  • I've been looking into getting the Kahr cw9. For every use. Range, home defence, concelaed carry. Do you have one or could you get a hold of one and do a video of it?

  • I just came back to IWB carry with my crossbreed holsters.I used to put the gun at 3 o'clock, but I had to pull my pants up high as hell for it to not get stuck in the corner where my leg bends at the hip while sitting. And since my gut is bigger than my waist below,I had to cinch my belt tight as hell to keep it up.But I found that if I put the holster at the 4 o'clock,a little behind from my hip bending,I can have my belt at my waist, and not too tight because my thighs are wider than my waist.

  • Galco sto-n-go best quality leather and great holster for the price. Runs $30 bucks or less

  • Hickok what kind of magazine holster is that in the video? Where can I find one and is that your favorite one?

  • Question about cc in the USA. I've noticed that some malls and banks post signs saying you're not allowed to bring the gun inside on their premises. What do you do then? Leave the gun at home if you know you might stop by the bank? Leave it in the car? Or will a doorman or guard at the bank / store keep the gun while you're inside? How does this work?

  • @IamMagPie The laws vary by state. Some states require via firearm law that you obey signs prohibiting carry. Others, like mine (PA) don't require it at all. If you are asked to leave a property though, you must. Disobeying signage then crosses over to trespass law, not at all firearm related. Only "prohibited places" are completely off limits to carry.. court houses, federal property, etc. Banks are not prohibited areas though. I carry at the bank all the time, sometimes even open carry.

  • @IamMagPie leave it in the car, technically if you're carrying properly, no one will know you are. it's a two-way street

  • Have you ever used your gu in self defence ?

  • With that second pull over shirt you are printing terrible, Just so you know.?

  • man i really wish they'd allow open carry in canada.

  • Are going to do anything on fanny packs for carrying? What do you think of this option?

  • Another great video - very informative - thanks for posting!!

One additional consideration - how about a small (less than 3") fixed blade knife on the left side if things get really bad (the bad guy or guys are able to grab your right hand). A couple of jabs could loosen their grip.

Knife laws are different for various states and localities. In some areas there is no defined law, its up to the judge. And a concealed carry permit doesn't always include knives.

    It's a jungle out there!

  • By the way, check out the "Fist" holsters. I love mine!

  • Where is the "legal open carry" video? ;)

  • Mr. Hickok, I really love your channel and enjoy your expertise! I think that you should have a real tv show....THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!!

  • @kluboski yeah but then we'd have to deal with all the commercials.

  • Ruger SR1911 , I carry it eveywhere!

  • Believe me if I could carry in California I would

  • @lunker73 you can..

  • LOL, I too have gathered a bucket of holsters over the years.

  • 17 ppl still think Glock is a garage lock ..

  • i have a crossbreed for my XDM .45 and a n82tactical for my Glock 23!!! both are fantastic IWB holsters

  • Here in Minnesota we can use any legal firearm as our carry and doesn't have to be concealed. So someone could literally walk down the street with a 12ga with 00 buck shot as their carry.

  • @jameskennethwarren

nah man, the material is more like a waxy feeling plastic, most handguns will wear the holster down so there is very little friction, not the other way around. plus they help you draw your weapon ultra smooth and fast. thats just mho.

  • should i trade my G17 for a G23? i dont have a CCW yet, i was just thinking about moving up from a 9mm to .40 cal, but the only thing stopping me is that idk if i would like a mid-size Glock more than a full-size. any ideas from anyone?

  • @kingofthe40oz keep the 17. When Gold Dots are used, the 40 (and maybe even the 45) is not more powerful.

  • @MichaelRudnicki

yeah i have 147gr Gold Dots in mine, there my favorite defense round. thanks for the input. but whats your thoughts on full-size vs mid-size Glock?

  • @kingofthe40oz keep the 17 and get the 23 as well, problem solved..

  • @clinton1620

i would but i am pooooor, i was going to do a flat trade so idk if i should or not

  • Howdy Hickok45 and viewers. My only concern about the hard plastic holster is this. Will the hard plastic mess with the finish on the gun after holstering it hundreds of times? meaning, will the hard plastic start to shave off some of the finish over time? all my Holsters are soft nylon mesh.. JKW.

  • @jameskennethwarren, I've noticed over time that you do get some unusual markings on Glock slides, rather than the usual "blended" wear you get with leather or nylon. With a regular carry gun, I don't care that much, but it's something to think about if you just want to carry a valuable "safe queen" for a day or something. There's no way to make a Glock uglier, so I don't worry about it much since these types of holsters work so well.

  • @hickok45 sorry if you have already but can you do a WWII handgun video?

  • @BigJT2010 He did a video over the colt 1911 and the smith and wesson 1917. Those were the two main sidearms of the united states in world war 2. Check them out, they are great as always!

  • @usaknifenut yea i saw those but just to be difficult i was hoping for foreign side arms during the period. thanks though

  • Can u plz do a video on how to carry a 1911 safely and conceald cuz that is my favorite gun and idk how to carry it

  • 16 bad guys rather have gay sex !

  • I so like your style and presentation.....You have a common sense approach similar to Jeff Cooper.... Cooper of course could be very opinionated... However he was very methodical and many of his ideas are no nonsense....Your JC quote of the day........" I dont generally carry a spare magazines... However if i feel the need to have one then im generally going to carry one of the higher capacity ones.. If your in a situation where your having to reload one of these things ...YOUR INTO IT ! "

  • I have a question about open carry...ya see i live in Virginia and am eager to learn/use firearms...I heard that it was legal to open carry at the age of 18, if true would i need to carry the gun permit?

  • @jonrod94 I'm not really sure about your gun laws there. But if you need a permit to open carry, you definitely want it on you, so you can show it to cops that question you about it.

Also, try to figure out what your going to say to cop now, before it actually happens.

  • @jonrod94 To a cop*

  • can i carry a glock 22 gen 4 like this?

  • Best ending out of all Hickok45 videos. Epic.

  • @elfmdl Almost always... U will rarely not the belt adds stability to the holster and most require something to cling to and a pant waist is way to thin to support a guns weight

  • Gotta love milt sparks u all got a 6 Monty wait and because I hung around with Tony down there through highschool I can place an order and he'll usually get it back to me in 3 weeks

  • Do you have to wear a belt when using an IWB holster?

  • We need to get back California's gun rights!

  • Black ones are always the bad guys.

  • no mr bad guy why do you want to shoot me xDD

  • i vote for the comtac minautor.. hickok... great piece of work w/ service par excellance!

  • Is there a big difference carrying a 19 or a 26? I have a 19 4th gen and debating about gettting a single stack 9mm or a 26 4th gen.

  • A couple of weeks ago I was in a local "Discount" store to return some tire chains that were defective. Now I was just inside the entrance to this place, at the service counter, and the store manager went back to grab another set of chains. I went to take my wallet out of my pocket and the manager saw the top of my "Baby GLOCK", the dude totally went off. He started yelling at me telling me to "Leave the store, NOW". I told the guy I am licenced to carry, he became more rude. Some people.....

  • @iloveoregon5411 Okay dumbass, don't get offended of people become rude. Do your due diligence. If you go home to your family, then it's a good day. Yep you do have a responsibility to never escalate a situation. That is your part. If a gentleman tells you to leave his store, leave. Rectify the situation when the dumbass has calmed down.

  • Those look like fiber optic sights, however, I could be wrong.

  • Err... Not wanting to dig thru all the comments, I'm wondering what sights are on that G 27?

  • Not wantim

  • I love me some Hickok45! Im new to carrying because I live in Wisconsin and we just got the law passed so this helped alot!

  • 16 bad guys disliked this video.

  • @rimfirerob Yeah from hell

  • Great video!

  • BTW, I find these new style IWB holsters with the twin clips so comfortable, I carry all the time now. I don't even take the holster off except to change pants or wash them. Of course, I put my gun into my GunVault as soon as I get in the house.

  • @kmurray96 why put it in the gun vault i carry mine 24/7 sitting on the couch mowing the yard your most likley to have a problem when your at home and thats where you have the best deffense in court over on the street if someone breaks in do you really think your going to be able to get to it inside a vault dont think so only my opinion tho to each their own

  • Thanks for a great video. I carry my G36 in a DeSantis Scorpion IWB. A LEO for over 23 years, I've carried a myriad of guns in IWB holsters. You're right on the money with these new style holsters with the wider clip points. With all the single clip holsters over the years, I found the rubbing of the clip holsters, from them moving and swiviling, very irritating. Now with the wide contact points of the double clips, there's no movement and I can wear it comfortably for long periods.

  • I carry my Kel-Tek PF-9 ITW without a holster. I use the belt clip accessary from kel tek

  • I just got my 9mm and I don't have a holster you should send me one!

  • Thanks hickok - another great, informative video.

  • I would like to try a cross breed one of these days but the IWB holsters I have I don't like too much, not too bad once I got used to it but I started using a Don Hume JIT slide outside waistband holster paired with a blackhawk gun belt and it is the most comfortable I've found for me. I liked the JIT slide on my glock 19 so much that I got one for my S&W 642 also. It carries pretty high, the barrel doesn't really go below the belt on either gun and it doesn't flop out, probably cuz the belt.

  • @BHarris25 once you get a crossbread youll never go back theres another company that makes the same thing but they line the kydex with leather i dont like my glaco crossbreed copy because the leather is smooth on the inside and my pants slide down crossbreed makes it with the rough side against the body and it never moves\

  • This video addresses the very concerns I have with IWB carry from a newbie's perspective. I'm still wavering between the Crossbreed type and a clip-on and will more than likely just have to try both. Well done!

  • IWB is a problem for me in Florida, because its so hot year round, its hell but some one got to live here. To use IWB one needs a T-shirt to prevent skin rubbing, and a extra shirt just makes me hotter. It probably works just great in Tennessee spring fall and winter, because one can wear a T-shirt and probably long johns in winter. Good choice, but I have to pocket carry some one has to do it. Listen to Hickok he will steer you correctly. Avoid heavy guns like the 1911 45 caliber brick,or others

  • @surfside006 When it's t-shirt time, I carry a Ruger LCP .380 in a pocket holster. I can drop it my front pocket and the lip of the pocket closes completely over the gun. When i use the ATM, I'll fold the cash up and slip it behind the holster in my pocket. This way, if a misguided "yout" tells me to "give it up"...well, won't he be in for a nasty surprise.

  • or nothing at at all.. hello ladies or mrshickok ;)

  • Great video and vey well done. Gee, you sure do have a lot of holster but that is a good thing. I have to say that I like the Cross Breed Super Tuck also for I it very comfortable for carrying my Glock19. Sometimes I forget I am carrying because it is so comfortable. Just had to find the cant on the holster and good to go.

  • +1 for Galco's Triton holster. I have one for Glock 31, Sig 226R and now my SA TRP Pro. Sweet holster and doesn't mar the finish. Easy on/off. Price is hard to beat too.

  • U cant stop fırını ur gun even for a holster video :))

  • Another good holster to check out is Old Faithful Holsters.com great holster great price!

  • I prefer IWB holsters, it conceals my firearm well and it keeps me from forgetting it since it's right against my body. The only downside is on a warm day or if I'm particularly active, I may sweat and get some on my handgun. However, I just need to break it down and clean it again when I'm back home.

By the way, that ending was fantastic, Hickok on helium!

  • The holesters at 12:45 that you have to undo your belt for, are the loops rivited togeter or are they like jacket snaps? I have a mag light belt holder that has the same loop design an they just un snap so you font have to undo your belt.

  • Hickok, I carry a G23 in a Supertuck, and I've tried every combination of settings for the clips and carry position, and no matter what I do, the butt of the gun is always 1" away from my body. The slide and first half of the grip are tight against my body, but I cannot bring the butt in close. What am I doing wrong? Im also using a Beltman belt, so that is not the issue. Thanks for your great videos!

  • @therealnokia I'm not mr hickok, but right now I have a serpa paddleholster. Standing up it's at the most, the most, 3/4 of an inch from my body, and that is in a forward position. I think it's your body type or where your holster rides on the contour of your torso.

Sounds like the same complaint I have about my 1911. To fix that I had to get the holster all the way to on top of my right buttock. Still, I can't drive that way. You're not doing anything wrong. Keep working.

  • Great vid Hickok, a big thanks from AZ.

  • What is that noise at 10:19

  • Hickok did you rub the horsehide Supertuck down with Balistol? or is that coloring from perspiration?

  • What about IWB appendix carry? Say from 12:00 to 3:00. I find this to be very comfortable especially in the summer with shorts and a T-Shirt.

  • are you going to do a video on ankle holsters? thanks.

  • thanks for the subscription

    p.s

    this is my moms channel

  • I was in a seriously foul mood till watching this. After absorbing everything (and maybe looking at some christmas shopping for myself and family) I have to say it's nice to know where to go for an open and honest opinion.

Then there was the 23rd minute mark. Life is good.

  • IWB or OWB?! Can't decide! Aw heck I think I'll just sling my Draco across my back and start the day!

  • @Noremorse10 paddle, both fobus roto and blackhawk serpa's are very good quickies.

  • Probably one of the best informative videos I've seen on this topic. I think I know what I want for Christmas...... :-D

  • Mr. Hickok, might I suggest Raven Concealment to you. Their flagship holster the Phanton can be worn both IWB or OWB. Their customer service is impeccable as well as their products.

  • Do you wear your Glock hat when you're out and about? Or do you think it gives away your concealment?

  • Nice video! I have my Glock 17 with a supertuck and a Keltec PF9 in a minituck

  • @9123flash I have a Glock26 and can carry in my cargo pants pocket without printing. Nutnfancy has an opinion just like everyone else.

  • I live in tn same as u I have had my permit for almost 5 yrs time to renew I do have one question . U have been doing all concealed videos and I been told from my class I took that tn is both non and concealed can u tell me any different weither or not it is both or just concealed thanks

  • @9123flash dude just cuz nutnfancy says something doesn't work for him or he doesn't like it doesnt mean it work for you or someone else i'm getting sick of nutn said this kinda stuff lol

  • @9123flash I've been carrying a Glock 27 for years. It conceals easily under a t-shirt and it goes bang every time. What sucks about that?

  • Great video

  • reacting like that is toooo late..

  • Classic ending!

  • I IWB carry a Glock 27 .40cal...I use a tactical belt and all regular clothes, no problems, cant see my piece unless I show it or draw it. Works for me.

  • You didn't mention what belt you are wearing. I understand that the belt and belt fit to the holster is as important as the holster.

  • @Sandbag1300 yea, you may need to buy several belts. Look at 3 factors, the height, the thickness and the buckle. Yea you should get the correct length. Do it for a week on each.

  • just a thought i have heard of people sewing a large washer inside the seam of the bottom front corners of there shirts to add a little weight and allow them to swing there over shirts out of the way with more consistency. Works well for me, how ever my wife complains of all the sewing when i buy new shirts.

  • Again, a terrific video! Hoping for the Five seveN one day :)

  • I'm a big fan of IWB carry. It took me a while to warm up to it, but for me it was a matter of finding the right holster. I tried many-many holsters before settling on a couple of designs. Those designs are offered by Comp-Tac and Raven. However, like you mention, it's not for everyone. Body type, carry style, the clothing you prefer all plays a role in the decision process. Some folks like appendix carry, something I just can't warm up to. To each their own.

  • i like guns :)

  • Another great video thanks

  • What a classic ending...reminds me of cartoons of yesteryear ;)

  • I want to see Hickok45 do some SOMERSAULTS while demonstrating various holsters!

  • I have got some good info from Nutnfancy.

I have just now got some good info from Hickok.

Why defend or attack either? They both show you some options.

    Thanks to both!

  • @9123flash wow. your going to base your opinion on what 1 person says. that makes no sense. i have nothing against the man. but you should do things based on if it is comfortable with you

  • @9123flash then go watch nutnfancy..you carry what your comfortable with not what a youtube reveiwer says.

  • Just a question. Which states is it legal to carry guns in the public?

  • Great vid! Thanks so much!

  • *sees empty pockets* Where's your knife?! haha thanks for the video.

  • "Galco makes nice holsters, they oughta start a business" ... hahahahaha... They do indeed.. However, they leave a bit to be desired in a few models.. I get the joke hickok45...

  • @9123flash It's KelTec, not "keltech". KelTec CNC does make a PF9, which is a 9mm, and Glock makes several 9mm pistols that i have carried for a couple years IWB and like very much.. Including the Glock 19, 17, 26, ... and a few longer variants.. How is the PF9 "1mm smaller"?

  • Nice

  • What are your thoughts on shoulder holsters?

  • hey hickok do u have a warrant for carrying a gun anywhere ?

  • @9123flash Nutnfancy conceal carries a Glock 26. Remember his vids are his opinions. And when your paid to review something...that's definitely going to affect your opinion.

  • Did you say Ypsi? You live in Michigan?

  • @YouBeMadlol

IPSC (International Practice Shooting Confederation). I too always think of Ypsi whenever he says it. :)

  • @diggingforgold Lol. I was born in Ypsilanti, MI.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make these videos.

  • Ruger SP101 3" fits nicely IWB. A bit heavy but comfortable to drive with.

  • Yall be sure to watch past the 12 min mark. One thing that all of you need to find in your holster is that it is not so uncomfortable that you can't roll over after thanksgiving on the lazy boy and take a nap. It should be comfortable, as mr hickok stated, so you will carry (so comfortable you'll slap a paddle holster on top of it to upgrade on firepower and when you get ready to go to bed and find out you're carrying thrice). Thank you mr hickok

  • Excellent video. I have less trouble concealing a Beretta 92F with a good IWB holster than even the baby glocks in a belt holster. IWB holsters work great.

  • "hello mr bad guy" and people think Hickok45 aint funny...

  • great vid!!! I traded my Glock 27 in for a LC9 a few months ago and it made a World of difference for me. I am about 6 feet tall and 155lbs so the G27 printed really obviously on me. The compromise with the LC9 made me want to carry more often. Thanks for the CWP vids! Keep em coming sir!

  • Thanks, if I ever started carrying other than in my pocket, that crossbreed or galco looks like a great way to go.

  • the ending was epic.

  • OOPS!

  • Stoner holster

  • I also carry a glock 23 in a crossbreed IWB all day...very comfy and I'm a big fat guy (IWB isn't supposed to be for us) crossbreed changed that for me. Also use wilderness FF belt with stiffener...helps as well comfort wise...especially for big guys! PS-guy asking about range-bags check midwayusa...their's goes on sale for $40 a lot and is great...own 2!

  • Thank you for this review!

  • I CCW, inside my panties...it works just fine for me. I can imagine people thinking like: what the fuck is wrong with this guy?!

People need to losen up brethren!

  • @9123flash I carry a G19 everyday with no problem, if you feel good carrying a keltec, more power to you, also Nutnfancy has some great videos but dont put too much stock into what he says will work for CCW, just because he says he says something dosent work for him dosent mean it wont work for you.

  • @Tarowah Thumbs up! i carry a full size g17 most days!

  • @9123flash, Most people I know carry Glocks, but that's why there are lots of different guns and different flavors of ice cream. :-)

  • @hickok45 It was because of your recommendation that I bought a Crossbreed Super Tuck Deluxe for my Glock 23, and I have to say thanks because it is the most comfortable holster I have ever had. I carry almost everyday and sometimes I almost forget that I'm wearing it! :)

  • hickok your the shit

  • I love inside the pants holsters. My only issue is I like to jog and jogging shorts/basketball shorts dont come with belt loops for belts and holsters. I've tried pocket carry but the pistol does pop out due to my shorts not having a long enough pocket. I think I might ask my mother-in-law to sew me some strong belt loops. I currently use a pistol fanny pack but I DO NOT like fanny packs! Although it stays on me tightly while running it is not comfortable! Yeah I gotta go call my mother in law.

  • Sir, these holsters are all well & good for walkin around but what about driving? IWB holsters would numb out my right bun, not to mention my lower back.

  • @9123flash I hope you aren't basing all your decisions on Nutnfancy's testimony. If so you're missing out on a lot of really good options. After all, his difference between a sucky gun and a sweet rig is 2 oz and 1 bullet. Size and weight aren't everything, as he tends to think. the biggest factor in printing is handgrip length, not total gun width, since width differences are maybe 1/8in max, where handgrip difference can be and inch or more

  • I selected a local maker, Tucker holsters, "The Answer". Very nice, a little pricey, but at 5'9 190lbs, not even my friends have mentioned a print with a M&P9c. Just disappears. Planning on trying a Supertuck when I get my Glock

  • @yakin4bass

tuckergunleather answer is way better than the supertuck...trust me i have both ;) just get another answer...or if the glock your planning on getting is a subcompact it will fit the M&Pc holster pretty well, try it before getting another holster.

  • Thank you for this review!

  • @9123flash Nutinfancy tends to like smaller guns i've noticed. He loves doing his "run and guns". He loves the ke-ltec pf9, the khar pm9, and many other smaller guns. Lol i'm not in good enough shape to keep up with him. But glocks arn't too bad for CCW, they are smaller AND lighter then say, a 1911. But glocks tend to carry a lot of rounds in them, and whether you are ok with a 5 round revolver, a 8 or 9 round kel-tec, or a 17 round glock, I say carry whatever you can manage comfortably.
