  • I am not a pagan, but I still love viking metal.

  • Hälsningar från Sverige ! Vad duktiga ni är grabarna !!!

  • @thorodinfreya1 Ja fan, de flesta sångerna är på Faroesiska eller Danska men fyyyyy vad bra det låter :D

  • hail from usa irish/italian/english/dutch pride and pagan pride ps 1 day im comming home to europe 4 good ps. my name is thunder hawk.

  • Tyr for ever

  • sveiki

  • Týr sounds great no matter what language they sing in :D theyre just THAT badass :)

  • @WvSharpshooter this and Artas are my favorite multilingual bands :)

  • @MetalHatter dont think i've ever heard of Artas...gonna have to go check 'em out here shortly.

  • They aren't from norway fyi, they are from Færørene

  • @FrederikBosch Færøyene* The fær-islands, not the Fær-ears :p

  • Salut fra faderlandet Danmark!

  • The best song ever!!! <3 \,,/

  • We are all Choirboys compared to TÝR

  • It''s so embarrassing when he sings english..

  • @Parfymenavdoed i'm surprised to hear that from a norwegian. i am from the u.s. and i think he speaks / sings pretty decent english, considering it is not their first language.

  • @gubberfuck That's got nothing to do with it though.

  • THAT FREAKING CHOIR!!!!

  • @juanarkantos Chorus.

  • @zsybrant no, i meant CHOIR...

  • @juanarkantos There is no choir. There's harmony during the chorus. Maybe you don't know what a choir is.

  • @zsybrant well i was talking about the harmony. why isn't it a choir?

  • @juanarkantos Because a choir is a term used to refer to a singing group. I wouldn't call Tyr a choir.

  • @juanarkantos lol wheres the choir in this song? lol

  • @YourRoadToHell in the chorus

  • @VincentFinn @EarlSergejTheRakish

I like all their works - I hated TÝR at 1st, but By The Light Of The Northern Star is what got me hooked on them. From there, I moved backwards, I've liked all their albums (I have yet to listen to the 1st one though). Land was the 2nd album I listened to by them, so Land & BTLOTNS are both important to me! :D I also loved the ballads/Kvaedi in Ragnarok.

Also, I spent 4 hours playing the intro riff to Nine Worlds Of Lore's, over and over again. Learned IT! ^^

  • the intro is simple, but fucking heavy

  • Hail from Helvetia!

  • because it's not a fast song, i can relax and enjoy it to its fullest extent

  • TÝR is the most serious Folkmetalband I know.

  • @EarlSergejTheRakish it is not folk metal...

  • @VincentFinn

I know, it's progressive viking metal. But they use a lot of folkish melodies and texts. And this is what makes TÝR my favorite band.

  • @EarlSergejTheRakish Týr was my favorite band when it has the "By The Light Of The Northern Star", I liked it because it had viking spirit, it was more beautiful and virtuous, now with the new albuns... they look like a bunch of vikings waiting to die because of their diseases. I think they are giving much importance to this "progressive" and slowly forgetting the "Viking"....I am not criticizing the progressive metal, but it in Týr. This song is cool, but I don't feel nothing when I hear it..

  • @VincentFinn I also think that the "viking spirit" is mor important than the progressive elements. But for me TÝR wouldn't be TÝR without them.

My favorite album is LAND by the way. Ridicuolous that I have the same causes.

I guess, that "By The Light Of The Northern Star" is your favorite album, because it is faster and more aggressive, than the other LP`s of TÝR. I like both, but I preferr the songs of TÝR that are slow, but very impressive, like this one. One hint: check out Land.^^

  • @EarlSergejTheRakish thank you for the LAND, but just one thing: if we want tyr's slow songs, HAIL TO THE HAMMER....

  • @VincentFinn All right. HAIL!

  • TYR has got the "thing" to make epic songs such as this one, hail from Poland.

  • Absolutely epic.

  • My brain is melting from the awesome...

  • Cab anybody write to me all solos which Terji plays in Tyr songs ?

  • RA GNA ROK ;-)

  • By the gods, this song is just perfection.

  • Such a brilliant song. For some reason, it makes me want to go to the Faeroe Islands and I will.

  • Så de på wachen i fjor. Fin form å flotters musikk!!! skal gjentas i år.

  • Hail to the Mighty Aesirs.............. I just love how these guys sings the faroese part all together................. Hail From Canadian Asatruar

  • two dislikes? what the fuck?

  • @KrisdashPaul maybe christians^^

  • @Stormraider1000 I lol'd while they did not and get even more angry

  • Unfortunately the atmosphere doesn't work on live concerts (or at least festivals). I saw them on Wacken this year and just thought: How boring.... Now listening to the studio versions it's really great

  • @Kati1096 Really? I saw them last year live and thought the atmosphere and energy were great! Of course it was a much smaller venue than Wacken, though. Saw them at a smaller Venue in Cleveland with Korpiklaani, and it was easily one of the greatest concerts ever.

  • @devoutatheist81 You saw them at Peabody's, right?

  • @zsybrant thats correct.

  • @devoutatheist81 I was there!

  • @zsybrant very nice! perhaps you remember seeing me, long blonde hair and beard, kinda short, wearing a korpiklaani shirt... that was such a sweet show

  • @devoutatheist81 I do believe so! Your picture pops up in my inbox whenever I get notified of a reply, and I'm pretty certain I saw you there. Aren't they fucking STELLAR live?!

  • @zsybrant They certainly are, both Korpiklaani and Týr. I just wish they would have turned Heri's mic up a bit, it was a little hard to hear him. And then there was the guy who went crowdsurfing and was nearly impaled on Jonne's mic stand. That show was great timing though, I had pretty much just discovered Korpiklaani and Týr, and then BAM they are both live in the SAME SHOW! It's almost like destiny lol

  • @devoutatheist81 Such an amazing show. I love Korpiklanni, even if they are Finnish. ^_^ But yeah, Heri's mic was a little quiet for my liking, and I thought that one dude was toast. I've been listening to bands like them for a couple years, but not very long. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I finally have a favorite genre of metal, thanks to them.

  • @zsybrant Oh you mean Terji? Lol its funny you should say that, my gf at the time went outside to have a cigarette during korpiklaani and saw terji outside, said he could barely even stand he was so wasted, and was singing a faroese version of rudolph the red nosed reindeer. i wish i had gone with her lol,but korpiklaani was kicking too much ass

  • @devoutatheist81 Maybe the problem was that it was open air.... 0.0

  • @Kati1096 yeah that might be it, large open air shows sometimes lose some of the energy. I prefer smaller more intimate shows myself. Although I would love to go to Wacken one day.

  • bloody amazing song ! fucking amazing band! EPIC SOLOS!!!

HAIL TO THE HAMMER IN AUSTRALIA!!!!

  • anybody knows if i can find the translation of the faroese lyrics in their songs in english?

  • this, is, beast. one of the best hard rock songs ive ever heard. brovo

  • Personally - best song by this band.

  • \m/ love it guys
