  • Drums too quiet for my tastes but cool

  • which recording programm did you use for the guitar?

  • @TheTearfall Pod Farm.

  • @fearcomplexmusic

would you do a pod farm tutorial please? :D

  • What is your setup for recording guitar? The tone is so nice!

  • @TheStardogChamp ESP Eclipse with EMG 81 pickup, used the "smashing" preset in Pod Farm.

  • your guitar sounds better than the drums haha! amazing riffs man!

  • @jimmybob1 Thanks man!

  • Can you share the preset for AD?

  • @matteo1987 I don't have it anymore sorry. It's just the default stock kit with some compression on the kick and snare. No EQ.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Thank you very much, great sound anyway!

  • which program is best addecrive drums or DFH

  • @bagera93 Superior 2.0 Metal Foundry

  • are u using chromatic scale? Nice video and song:)

  • hmm can i add vocals to this?!

  • Anyone know how to use the trigger with other beats....it only seems to be in use with certain metal beats...can it be added to others...

  • The snare sounds MASSIVE , great mixing , you win my subscription

  • sounds like QUAKE 2 soundtrack

  • sick riff with solo @ 1:48 nice

  • Badass man...Put some lyrics to it!

  • sick man!

  • Does addictive drums come with it's own shell like EZDrummer and Superior Drummer 2.x ? or do you have to use a DAW?

  • Wow my goodnes! Sir, there is a Line6 or a Guitar Rig? Nice tone drums and killer tone guitar!

  • @rasocomercial Hey thanks it's from the Line 6 gearbox/pod farm. I think it's the 'smashing' preset.

  • what kit is it?

  • @overcomewithplagues it's the default kit.

  • @fearcomplexmusic of the metal ad pack? or of addictive drums?

  • very good.do you know how to change the time during a song with AD, using guitar pro to make tracks and then export them to the ad. but AD does not change the speed of a song during playback. help please.or anyone know???

  • @hamletroiz3000 as far as i know AD doesn't change the time (tempo) of songs, it's a VSTi, you're suposed to change the time in the midi you are "feeding" to AD, at least that's how i do it. But during playback (in real time? as in a live performance?), hmm, i guess it depends on your DAW software. I hope i didn't confuse even more... :s

  • @megahurtz30 Thank you very much, I resolved that problem. The problem is that I use adobe audition 3 as a main program and has no function to change the speed of the song in real time. Now I use nuendo specifically to change the speed of songs in real time.Anyway thanks a lot.Greets

  • LOVE that riff that starts at 0:50, so boss.

  • Wow! Awesome guitar riffs!!!

  • Man is it possible that you will upload this preset somewhere cus I'm looking for good sound for toms and floor tom but I realy can't find good one!

  • caralho! muito bom cara!

  • Good! I use the Addictive Drums too!

  • are you using a 7 string guitar?

  • i love those catchy riffs you got going not going to lie. I really respect it so kudos love your style man

  • Had you created your own drum preset?

  • @SwampLord07 Not then but I'm creating one now and will upload a new video. I almost forgot how good AD is!

  • Comment removed

  • Man, awesome sound.. with software that you recorded these guitars? thanks!

  • @budasky Hey thanks, I'm pretty sure I used the "smashing" preset from gearbox/pod farm.

  • the intro sounds like st anger

  • Did you programmed those drums yourself or used drag-and-drop-like samples?

  • @kokopiko I do both, drag and drop and then tweak them a bit to fit the riffs better. The patterns that come with AD are great though so they don't require much changing.

  • good job man!

  • Nice job!!!

Do you still have de comparison video? I'd really like to see it...

    Thanks!!!

  • Dude... this is fucking awesome.

  • Good job!

  • Every time I think I get good at something, some FREAK comes along and quickly reminds me that there is always a bigger fish. Awesome, awesome job man. We should definitely talk. I use Reaper, AD, and Line 6!

  • @TheDroneEffect haha cheers man. Happens to me all the time, just when I think I've got a decent tone I hear something awesome and it puts me in my place real quick lol

  • @TheDroneEffect Let it be known that user 'TheDroneEffect' praises jesus and listens to Justin Bieber's popular songs. He wears khaki's and pastel coloured golf polos with starched collars, and goes to church with his elderly republican grandparents every Sunday. He also has a fluffy chihuahua named tinkles who sleeps at the end of his bed every night. Furthermore let it be known that user 'TheDroneEffect' has a below average sized peen and has never been laid. :)

  • hey colud you pls upload the presets? awesome sound dude!

  • awesome composition man...did you play this on edrums or was it sequenced on a program...and btw great fucking guitar tone, also what kinda distortion was used?

  • @ElvisBluntman777 Hey thanks, I programmed it in Reaper. I used a line 6 toneport and the gearbox software it came with for guitars.

  • Sounds like Metallica snare

  • Is this software large?

  • Whats up bro? Sounds good. I was wondering if you could share your preset....sounds nasty! Good job.

  • @gotcha311 Hey man I made this over a year ago, have no idea what setting i used sorry.

  • what kinda interface are u using..... and would you recomend cubase 5 over sx3

  • riff at 35 is pretty fucking catchy man i like it

  • great man, i love the sound of the snare!

  • Wooow, This is not an addictive drums demo, I think it's a demo of the music you create and let me tell u that it sounds amazing... Cheers from Mexico!!!

  • @freakbass1 asi es esta haciendo un demo de como suena el addictive drums en una composicion de metal. suena muy buen pero la verdad ya quedo obsoleto alado del superior dummer metal foundry o el steven slate drumms.

    saludos camarada

  • what tuning is your guitar in? sounds amazing!

  • @ARMS0is0still0here This is drop b i think

  • fucking great man! one question, can i use this as a garage band plugin on my macbook pro?

  • @Spacca189 Not sure man, check out their site for compatibility

  • What version of Cubase are you using, and/or what version would you recommend for this style of music? Also, would you recommend Cubase in any version over other software programs such as Logic, ProTools, Ableton live? Thanks

  • @BellumSacrumBellum28 Think it was cubase sx3. Yeah cubase is great, I recommend to try out Reaper though, chances are it can do what you need it to do and for a lot less than any other daw.

  • great sound man! feel like sharing the preset maybe? :)

  • @Metal22God Sorry man I don't have it, it's been over a year since I did this and I lose track of stuff after a week!

  • @fearcomplexmusic never mind, i know, it happens to me, too.

    awesome sound though... :)

  • Comment removed

  • @BellumSacrumBellum28 I'd go with addictive drums, ezdrummer's toms in particular are very plastic sounding and in general it's just not good *enough*. AD is great.

  • Whoa man. Did you create this yourself? If you did, is there an mp3 of it? This sounds really amazing.

  • I personally am able to tweak EZDrummer (dfh) to have identical quality. Adjusting velocities and manually setting each mic level may take a little time, but the results are worth it. Takes patience though.

  • if you can just clean a little bit the guitar dist ...could be aweosme ..

  • @fonzitoelguapete It's called a metal demo. What did you expect? lol

  • so dude, which one would u prefer in terms of energy and power given the choice

    superior drummer

    or

    addictive drums?.....

i'm new to programming drums n thinkin of investing in a drum sampler...

  • @prateem2007 If money isn't an issue I'd go with superior. AD is still capable of producing quality results though and if it's much cheaper it might be the better deal.

  • @prateem2007 Off course superrior is better but AD is the one of the best drum sampler at the market. But using superrior is a bit difficult if I compare with AD. Because you need to mix drums channel by channel if you want a better final sound and AD does that simply.

  • Hi there dude!

Do u have any idea on how to run toontrack metal foundry midi files into addicitve drums properly?? I really need to know how!!

    Cheers!

  • @ovnianopolus Have you got ezplayer? I think it lets you use a different output than superior, otherwise the mapping will be wrong.

  • wow, very good song !!! good drumming tones!

  • does this kit sound come as standard when you buy it?

  • nice song and great drums. Have you put this somewhere to downloads? it would be cool to get nice addictive drum sounds to my heavy songs :D

  • nice:)

  • Very cool tune! I just bought AD and still haven't had much time to mess with it, but looks like there are some really awesome possibilities with it......

What did you get the guitar tone with? I'm trying RIG 4, and liking it so far..

    Rock On!

  • @albooher1 hey I used a toneport and gearbox for guitars on this

  • Dude your guitar tone sounds fucking BEEFY. YUM.

  • great sound man!

  • can i use drum kit from hell with addictive drums???

  • that snare sounds just like metallicas one in st anger :P

  • @Feuersoulrock i thought the exact same

  • Very nice Addictive Drums! Unfortunately we do not find the serial or keygen ... : (

  • where can i download it??

  • sounds like Opeth. Tight.

  • where can I download it???

  • DUDE THIS IS FUCKING SICK!! Give me the file plz man

  • dude. do u know how to create a doublebass e.g. 2 keys on the midi keyboard, to trigger the bassdrum. btw: great tunes!! greetz from germany!

  • I'm guessing the guitar parts were made with an amp sim... they sound kinda like a Mesa Mark IV or V... just a guess?

  • @Acidrain1993 The guitars were done with a line 6 toneport and it's greabox software.

  • @fearcomplexmusic

Can you PLEEEEEASE post your presets using the Gearbox software!?

  • @365daysgone Hey i don't have the preset for this clip, i'm sure it was the "smashing" preset in gearbox that I tweaked a bit.

  • how can i create my own beats to my songs??? thanx

  • @robvk6 use the midi editor in your DAW, with addictive drums there's a bunch of ready made beats that you can just drag and drop into your drum track, you can then edit them, which is what I did here.

  • @fearcomplexmusic right on, ive been useing them but i want to create the beats to the rythyms ive written...

  • @fearcomplexmusic thanx i'll give it a go...

  • Dude can't you post a link so that I can download your preset? Your snare is sick and I'm dying to use it.. xd

  • @Fiiille I never saved it but I remember it was just the stock kit that loads at startup, the stock snare is great and didn't need anything but some compression, room mics are loud in the mix also, which really brings out the crack.

  • Can I import MIDI drums into the program and have Addictive Drums play that?

  • @Ploob05 you can import midi into your DAW, not addictive drums itself. You might have to rearrange the midi though, the hi hat in your midi file could be triggering a tom in AD for example.

  • wow...great tune...

  • So can you make your own beats or do you have to use the ones that come with it because none of the videos show beat editing or arragement

  • @BVisionProductions most of the beats came with the program, edited to better fit the riffs. Some fills i created.

  • awesome sound!!!

  • nice groove

  • sounds GREAT!!!

  • Thanks for reply. Just picked up my g5 mac, so ill defo be gettin this plug-in

  • Hey Mate..Good to see fellow Aussies at the top of metal comp's on this level..what platform(pc or mac) and are guitars solely from gearbox ?-no external micing?

  • @CRANKYONE100 Hey not an aussie but assume those questions are for me?! Was done on pc using only gearbox.

  • what did you use to sequence the drums? XNL doesn't make it very easy to make your own patterns....

  • @NIMHFS dragged and dropped the patterns into cubase, used its midi editor to edit patterns

  • im liking it mate what music package does this run with? cubase, logic? is this recorded on a mac or a pc?

    good work

  • @rhythmicstu Hey i know it runs on cubase and reaper and I'm pretty sure it will run on just about every other DAW. I recorded this on a pc.

  • Badass dude, keep it up

  • hey dude, this really really impresed me. nice composition, keep it up dude.

  • Thanks!

  • Great sound man!

  • Thanks a lot

  • the most professional metal sound creation on the web - what guitar software did you use ?

  • @Glissmann

hey i used line 6 gearbox software on this

  • hey! would you send me your config to use it too?

  • I didn't save it sorry. I didn't do much with the stock sound, just compressed the kick and snare.

  • is something like that but for guitarist?

  • @Adamkooooooo you mean a software to make guitar tracks? i don't know of any software to do that but i do know that guitar rig has effects and amp sounds that are pretty good for recording stuff

  • What a Recording and tune,,, It sounds really killer man... what DAW are U using for your demos?? . i use AD too, but I've compared the AD demo vs. SD 2.0 , and SD seems to be really superior in sound and tone ?? What U think ?? Great Vid.. thank U........

  • Thanks! I used Cubase. I honestly can't say which is better regarding AD vs Superior, I think it depends on the music. I've tried this song with Superior and I couldn't get it to work as good as AD but I've done other stuff where Superior was well, superior! You can't really go wrong with either product, maybe if you're after that heavily processed metal sound you should go with Superior but in general I can't recommend one over the other because I continue to use both.

  • Thanks for the explanation.. I really appreciate it !!! The Only Thing after this.. is.. METAL WAY.... RULES.........

  • I'm looking for a new drum program for my solo project. The pre-made beats sound really good, but I play technical metal...so I do a lot of breakdowns, polyrhythms, and technical time signatures where the bass drum needs to match the guitar. Is there a way to program your own beats with this?

  • @akkarocker703

this is only a plugin ;-)

you can use programs like ''Fruity Loops'' or ''Cubase'' to run it.

if you do some midi-stuff with drums like in guita pro you can just drag and drop it into.

  • thanks man ill give that a shot. i just got cubase so ill try and figure it out haha.

  • yeah dude, and believe me, it's pretty easy, check my melodic death metal video, I made the drums using addictive drums.

  • @akkarocker703 use cubase, what you described is exactly what i'm doing :)

the dude i recorded with uses cubase so i asked him about it and now i'm downloading it

  • Pantera and All Shall Perish had a baby!! This is siiiiick! Awesome recording!

  • what kinda amp u used for guitars?

  • no amp, line 6 gearbox amp sim

  • how do you record the guitars ?

  • Are you using an electronic kit with addictive drums?

  • Nope, they're AD's patterns with some midi editing.

  • Would you please upload your config because it sounds awesome :D

  • I don't have it saved but I'm uploading a new vid soon with a new sound, so check it out and if you want it I'll upload.

  • It sound kinda like St. Anger :)

    Good Job man.

  • no it doesnt at all

  • nice song dude !

  • @sidneysablier Thanks !

  • to much reverb on drums in this style of music they should be as tight as possible i think

  • i agree, the toms could use a little more punch. But i disagree that there's too much reverb. any less reverb would make the mix sounds dry and boring

  • @stalikistah, with these type programes you have a mic placement setting, if you pull them right back and have lots of room mic in the mix then they make the drums sound huge. i like big organic sounding drums but i do agree you need a tight compressed sound to make it work with down tuned chug metal.

  • well done!

  • Kicks ass!!If you could give it a name what will you give it?I say "Suicide & Destruction"I've made one song with this title in punk o matic with a friend.Suicide & Destruction.........What a title

  • this is a great demo!

it really shows the power of addictive drums...and the power of metal! \m/_

  • fucking sick man

  • thanks !

  • i was told on the AD site forums that AD doesn't have double kick. how on earth are you doing it?

  • I was told on the AD site forums that AD doesn't have double kick. how are you doing this?

  • Whoever told you that is wrong. All the beats in this song are AD patterns including the double kick and you can of course make your own drum tracks with all the double kick you want. In fact most of the time I'll program the beats myself and use AD's ready made fills but AD's grooves just worked really well for this song.

  • when i instal the demo,it doesnt give me a shortcut and i cant find the exe anywhere

  • you'll need to open it as a virtual instrument from your recording program eg. cubase, reaper,

  • Best metal demo with AD i've heard.

do you think this program would work in audacity?

  • Yep it should work

load it up as a vst instrument and off you go.

  • In audacity? I don't think so... Audacity is not a sequencer as far as i know... Just recording suite...
