  • I'm 12 and I love songs like this :)

  • @bcutee11 SO.. LOL. I bet your friends dont know.

  • This is a good song but why did City make it their theme song? It has nothing to do with football

  • @ManUntdFCfan blue football kit?

  • @ManUntdFCfan ..because the moon is blue, clearly. Similar pointless reason man u use the glory glory halleluiah hymn as their song.

  • @egor96 United's song has different lyrics that actually relate to the club

  • theres 28 beliebers

  • The Marcels are Better Than Justin Bieber.

  • @Jessyleppert

The the individual who posted it: thanks, "American Graffitti" is one of my all time favorite movies. It was like all four years of high school compacted into a 2 hour highlight reel.

  • bang bang bang

    gang bang gang bang

    ding ding dong

    blue moon

  • whats a "marcel"?

  • @catpoopjb7 It's a wavy hairstyle that was popular when this song was recorded.

  • @catpoopjb7

It's slang for when you're really drunk and wandering around a city and also you're really hungry, then you see pizza or something in a trashcan but it's not touching anything gross and you really want to eat it.

  • moo mooo mooo mooo lol

  • sorry that my generation fucked up music..

  • @meyerske thats true

  • @meyerske There are big money players involved in the music industry so its not entirely your fault. My generation was inspired by artists like The Clash, The Ramones, Patti Smith etc who inspired us to grab a mike and guitar and just have a go. It didn't matter if it sounded shit - we just had a great time.

  • @calligh

^this. the indie labels that fueled great music in the past have all been bought out by majors, themselves owned by multimedia corporations, and placed under MBAs after the actual music enthusiasts who founded them retired or died, leading to a mercenary, business mentality in place of the old artistic focus.

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!?

  • I'm 15 and...this is awesome...

REJECT BIEBER - ACQUIRE BLUE MOON!

    OCCUPY YOUTUBE!

  • I'm 12 and wat is this?

  • Love thiss !

  • 0:30 what was the drinking age back then??? lol

  • I pefer oldies. The singers had great voices without the use of autotune. They actaully used instruments. And their themes were so inocent and pure. Their love songs were actually about love, not sex or making women into sexual objects. Beiber, Minaj, Kesha's music doesnt even come close to this.

  • city till i die!

  • age doesn't matter

    this song is wonderful

  • was that ron howard

  • Parents graduated in 1960...1 year out of HS....NEVER will we see days like these!

  • hate this song united till i die blue shite

  • everyone saying "thumbs up if ______ brought you here", shut up. the song existed and accumulated a fan base years before that show used it. therefore all the people here hate you. because thanks to that show, commercial, or movie, the song has become butchered into a cheap jingle for your show's benefit.

  • bom-ma-ba-bom-ma-bom-bom-bom-bom-ba-ba-bom-bom-bom-bom-ba-bang-your-dang-dad

  • this is like my favorite song of oldie

  • Whenever I hear the original pre-Marcels non-doowop version of this song it just never sounds right to me since this was the 1st version of this song I remember hearing on Top 40 radio as a pre-teen in the early 60s.

  • I'm 23 and I love my oldies! Too bad they're not played much anymore.

  • @blindmotorhead They are sung regularly at jazz gigs. I'm singing it at my gig tonight but in more of a bluesy swing still.

    Janet

  • @blindmotorhead If you can find a good oldies station in your area they are played round the clock on a true oldies' station.

  • Thumbs up if you're drinking Blue Moon right now.

  • Ed bassmaster bought me here.

  • im only 14 so i obviously dont remember this song, but its my friends moms favorite. i love it, it always gets me in a good mood. i wish we had stuff like this today instead of kesha and justin bieber.

  • @holypicklesmofo There is good music today, you just need to stop relying on the radio or anything mainstream these days.

  • @Peacefulamont ~ LIFE was beautiful in 1961.

  • oldie but a goodie

  • When I ever I feel depressed this song always cheers me up!

  • I think it's just appropriate to play in a movie like American Werewolf in London!

  • An American Werewolf In London.

  • sooo love this song:)

  • I'd say that in the book of music, this is the definition of doo-wop.

One of the greatest rock and roll records ever. Does anyone agree that 1961-62 were the very best years for real mature ROCK AND ROLL? Sure, I love the Beatles as much as anyone, but if (God Forbid) their plane had ditched in the Atlantic on the way to NYC, Rock and Roll would have survived just fine, and perhaps would have been better and more varied than the British invasion and acts that hung onto the Fab4 coat tails

  • OMG! Han Solo @ 1:10

  • i used think they said blue moo......im a little slow

  • I had just started my freshman year @ Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe Springs, California (Fall 1961) when I first heard this recording. Just fell in love with it and ran out to buy the 45 RPM record. Was madly in love with Stephanie Culberson, all 4'9" and 75 pounds of her. Kept the crush on her until my senior year when Joan Eide took over my heart. Geez those were just great great memories ~ sure, they're gone but they will never be forgotten. Always puts a smile on this old face.

  • @MrRonnieG I bet California was beautiful back in 1961!

  • little creepy but

  • Fifty years ago this past March, "Blue Moon" did the most amazing thing. It crashed into the Top 40 at #2 its first week on the charts and by the second week it was #1 on both WMGM and WABC in New York. It stayed in the #1 spot for about three weeks, then at #2 for another few weeks and only slowly, grudgingly, did it make its way down the charts and out. One of the most memorable songs of a great rockin' roll era. 1961 was the ultimate year. It was all downhill from there.

  • @deanslist101 Spot on !!! 1961, brill memories, brill songs.

  • edbassmaster brought me here because of the drive thru pranks

  • This is when music was music not the stuff tht is on now. these days music is disrespecting women and talking about drugs and money also gangs. if music like this would have stayed around more on the radio i think the violence and gang rate will drop a lot im 16 and i love this music it is great

  • I burst into laughter when this played so abruptly in American Werewolf

  • @NotToImply Me too. I just thought it was one Hell of a contrast, given the events that lead up to this song being played.

  • Im 17 and I love this song, which shows this is an amazing song!!!
