Great actor!! The rich and powerful in this country still expect Latinos to work harder for cheaper. They pit Latinos against Americans, especially in construction and menial labor jobs, and enjoy the results. I'm a drywaller,I work around Latinos alot and I think it's a crime that they are treated like they are.. it IS a crime to exploit undocumented workers and avoid taxes, etc!!It's a crime against humanity to create disparity between people for a profit too! So Says ME..can I get a WE ALL??
He is right that it is still hard for Latin American artists, why did the network push George Lopez back to provide a space for Conan O'Brien? that is very sad. . . .
He is such a great actor and person. He is also an activist in the humanitarian field. I especially loved his speech at the UN conference on Battlestar Galactica. He is really committed to making a difference.

WTF... I didn't even know he was hispanic, what is with all this victimization bullshit... you're a great actor Bill thats why you got casted, thas the way it should be. Fuck all these segments and their supposed 'deserved' or 'proportional' representation... in showbiz if you suck you don't get the job... if you rock you do. lets leave it at that.
I have a lot of respect for this guy. He's clear, articulate, clever, and he just happens to be a really good actor. I've been following BSG since season 1, and I'm always blown away by his his skill.
i find it said how i read about his sight of miami vice. he seems to dislike it and as well rejected to play castillo again in the miami vice movie. which was quite an honour to be asked, because he would've been the only actor to reprise his role from the series in the movie. anyway, he was doing very great in battlestar galactica. haven't seen the ending yet, but i already know at this point that i'm gonna miss the show.
Agreed, utmost respect to Olmos, ever since I first saw him in American Me. I really like Battlestar Galactica, and I especially think that casting Olmos as Adama was their great fortune, because he is a phenomenal actor.
Olmos was born Edward Olmos[1] in Los Angeles, California, where he was raised, the son of Eleanor (née Huizar) and Pedro Olmos, who was a welder.[2] His father was a Mexican immigrant and his mother Mexican American. He is mexican.
When I went to New York in 1999, I remember being surprised at seeing so many Latino people. You just don't see many on TV. The demographic of New York you see on TV series is completely different to the real one!
Proud to call you my great UNCLE Tio :)

Olmos... can't get any better than him
Lieutenant Castillo for five years on Miami Vice,
working with Harrison Ford on Blade Runner, and BSG, this great Latino actor deserves what he's earned over his nearly 30+ years in acting.

He was also accused of fondling a 14 year old babysitter back in 1993, he paid the family 150,000 to keep quiet.

The utmost respect is due Olmos. The only person I would ever admit is a personal hero of mine.

To be honest, I'd never really remarked he's latino... but maybe living in such a multicultural city that I do, it's not very shocking to me...
