Man does this take me back! Saw them multiple times in the 80's. Had Marguerite Juenemann as an adjudicator at the Jazz Celebration at Metro State a few years ago. Class act and great singer.
Defmaster88, thx for posting this. I've looking all over for this tune, thinking Manhattan Transfer had done it and then suddenly, from nowhere, remembered Rare Silk. Makes you want to get off your butt and get something good done! Yeah!
do you have the american eyes album also? the song storm from stanley turrentine is absolutely amazing and i would love to hear it again. what an unfathomable tragedy this group peaked and vanished 20 years before their time. jaz
Hi that is a great bass line.I can still play this note for note.Kim Stone is bassist on this one playing his Frettless Bass.He also does some upright on this album. This my favorite version of this song.I still like Freddies".Freddie Hubbard Just Died this year.RIP
They do an outstanding job with this song! Have heard quite a few renditions of it, but it gets no better than this:)

I love Rare Silk, use to watch them live in Boulder Colorado in the early '80's; never understood why they didn't have a larger following.....
