I was 9 when this game was on, my mum let me stay up late to watch this game, and what a game it was, my second favorite United game of all time, don't need to mention my 1st.
Juventus' team from 1995-2006 was one of the greatest ever, and if Nedved hadn't been suspended they definitely would have the Champions League again in 2003, but despite, uh, hating them, I have to admit that Manchester United deserved to win this. They had a very deep squad and their midfield was one of the best ever at the club level, really says something that Giggs, Beckham and Scholes are still playing today, and over the two legs they showed more desire than Juve to win it. FORZA LA JUVE!

cos we've got used to it. this was one of the first post-heysel seasons where any english club looked like they had a hope. there was a mystique about juve, milan, bayern etc, that came from lack of exposure to those teams from the mid 80s to mid 90s, that has been lost now. i rememebr when united beat juve 3-2 in 1997 (?) and it was a massive breakthrough for english teams in europe. now prem teams are int he final more often than not.

Juventus' team from 1995-2006 was one of the greatest ever, and if Nedved hadn't been suspended they definitely would have the Champions League again in 2003, but despite, uh, hating them, I have to admit that Manchester United deserved to win this. They had a very deep squad and their midfield was one of the best ever at the club level, really says something that Giggs, Beckham and Scholes are still playing today, and over the two legs they showed more desire than Juve to win it. cos we've got used to it. this was one of the first post-heysel seasons where any english club looked like they had a hope. there was a mystique about juve, milan, bayern etc, that came from lack of exposure to those teams from the mid 80s to mid 90s, that has been lost now. i rememebr when united beat juve 3-2 in 1997 (?) and it was a massive breakthrough for english teams in europe. now prem teams are int he final more often than not.
