Les Brown is the greatest motivational speaker who ever lived. I played Les Brown's tapes and books over and over again in the early 90's. I finally took my savings and started a software development training school. The school was certified with the Illinois State Board of Education. I owned and operated that school for 12 years. I am now living other dreams. I remember being in my study at home, and I had his tapes on in the living room. Les kept saying, get up, live your dreams, and I did.

Find a reason to succeed that is compelling.
Les tells the story of buying a home for his beloved adoptive mother.
My guess is that his persistence is rooted in his determination to take care of his mother. Les makes no secret of his affection and respect for his mother in this and other programs.
So we can infer that this burning desire kept him going,
If you don't have a driving force like this, find one. A compelling reason will spark reserves of fortitude that you did not know you had.
