I had the same problem and what I did was to unplug the phone from the usb, hold the home button and plug it back in and the apple appeard! I didn't had to wait for the itunes to start. In that moment when i plugged it back in the phone started

I fixed mine by pressing the mute button up and down 4 times and then pressing the lock and home button for 7-10 seconds then an apple will pop up and it will start working then you could plug it in the computer and it will charge. hope it works.

Easy! just pick the charger out from ipod/iphone. hold home button and put the charger in. Wait until itunes thing comes up. Then stop holding home button. Now hold power and home button together until you get apple logo . Then just wait! and its done!

For some reason my iphone 3gs has a charging issue. I literally powered it down to 0% and then put it on charge. it charged up to 25% and then suddenly it shot up to 100%. When i use the phone for 5 mins straight (in some cases less) it goes off and then when i press the power button, it shows the plug and lightening icon indicating i need to power it up. Is there a fix for this? Please help me with this issue if u can. Thanks.

i had my phone pluged in for a day. i woke up in the morning trying to find a fix for the problem. as i was in the prosess of ordering a new screen for my phone ( i droped it and it cracked). further more it eventually turned on and said it as in safe mode. then it asked me if i wanted to restore my phone. as i saw all my old apps were gone. i did not have i tunes installed on my pc. and u cant go into dfu cuse thier isnt enough power to keep it going wile u hold the home button.
